Hey there Maria, I’m Maria also and it was a pleasure to watch this video. This reminds me of a time where I propagated a Vanilla orchid and kept checking on it for almost 2 months and nothing at all happened...I almost turned yellow and died!!! LOL! Finally I got fed up with it and placed it in the back of my garden and basically forgot about it. It wasn’t until 6 months later where I finally seen growths of vines coming from it!!! So you are right if you keep checking on it every day it won’t work...it will just drive you crazy!
I enjoy your videos, your very straight forward and just a matter of fact but still manage to add some plant humor to keep things live. I appreciate that. I also have a TH-cam channel that centers on orchids but also other plants. I live in the central Florida area and would love to visit your nursery one day... perhaps also if your willing; do a collaboration with you.
Also I am interested in Hoyas and Stapelia varieties would love to order and do an unboxing video featuring your plants. Please let me know how I would find out what varieties you have and how I would place an order. Thanks.
PS I would only be interested in well established plants already well rooted and ready to go. I don’t do so hot with cuttings and don’t have the patience for it. Thank you and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Hola, María! A perfect video for me; I'm going to be potting 8 cuttings of the Hindu Rope soon, so this really helps. They already have roots, water propagated, but I don't want to lose them after I put them in soil. I'll remember to go easy on the water. Gracias. Tu amiga en California, Be.

Hi Maria! I like this video so much that I accidently commented to it in BOOK LENGTH! 😃🤣Lol! I was wondering about your hoya cuttings just yesterday! I've been busy having tree work done, etc. and now I'm sick! I have too much TO DO to be sick, Maria. I tell you, girlfriend, I've spent wayyyyyyy too much money on ALL KINDS of HOYAS! Some of them are advertised as growing in 4" pots, right? They arrive at my home and they aren't in ANY size POT! They're bare root with a little soil on them & a little piece of paper towel wrapped around the roots. Then, they put that inside a cheap little plastic sandwich bag & they twist the bag around a few times & put a rubber band around the stem of the cutting a couple times to keep everything tight around the "roots!" I could put 10, 12, 15 of those into a 4" pot and STILL have space left over! For crying out loud! We are expected to pay $25-$30 for something like that! (because they're rare varieties of hoyas)! That may be true about a few of them; but, then, when you get ready to pot them up, the cuttings/starts have dropped half of their leaves & we have to trim half of the roots off that were bound up too tightly by the rubber bands! Every little thing seems like another strike against being able to successfully grow the hoya plant that I wanted so badly! It's crazy! It makes me not want to do on-line plant shopping any more!
But! Then there are OTHER sellers who advertise their beautiful hoyas as being big, healthy plants that are well established in their pots, etc. We pay equally high prices & fret and worry about the shipment until it arrives. There is one particular seller who packages their plants so well that when I open the box, it's like receiving a gift from an exotic land! Each plant is carefully wrapped and they even wrap colorful tissue paper around the thick bubble wrap, or whatever, just to make it look nice! By the time you get the plant unwrapped, my pulse is racing! There in my hands is an amazingly beautiful, full, healthy plant with lots of leaves & new growth! It's a wonderful experience to order plants on-line from that person! You might say, just stop ordering from the first people & only do business with the 2nd one; but, I'm physically disabled & can no longer drive! Also, the first seller consistently sells unusual or harder to find hoyas than other sellers do; so, I may not get another chance to buy one of those types! It's a "crap shoot" sometimes for the eBay bidders/buyers/shoppers! It seems as though EVERYBODY has gone HOYA CRAZY these days! Prices have sky-rocketed & evidently there are lots of people who can afford to pay ANY amount for them! I KNOW in my heart that I've paid too much for certain hoyas AND philodendrons, too! If you decide to start propagating & selling various kinds of hoyas, you'll probably become an extremely rich woman and retire from selling ANYTHING! Lol! I'd love to buy some hoyas from you; especially, some rarer ones, because I TRULY BELIEVE YOU when you tell us, "I LOVE HOYA!" Thank you very much for sharing your wealth of information, Maria! You & I definitely have something in common, my dear. Both of us REALLY ARE absolutely, two-of-a-kind, life-loving, crazy-azz plant ladies! Take care. God bless you and keep you. I love you! ALWAYS PLANT LOVE! 🌵🌴🌾💜

Perhaps possible to just add note to video to see latest updated video for update technique. i.e., Desert Roses were you changed the soil mix recommendations that you've learned better formulas. So are you still recommending the wood glue for he Desert Rose? Thank you and God Bless you

    Hi Maria! How are you?
I did take cuttings from my Hoya Carnosa Tricolor Krimson Queen. I used your glue and put them into dry potting mix. I waited for 2 weeks, but no roots. I let them go 2 more weeks and no roots. The cuttings turned yellow and died.
I took more cuttings and tried again with the rooting hormone. Same results.
I am glad you are now saying to spray the top of the soil. I live in Pennsylvania and we do not gave the humidity you have in Florida.
I do have to say that since I have really cut back my Hoya, I am now noticing 3 new growths. Hopefully it will all grow back and I can try to propagate again.

Hi HPE Teacher! I have tried Hoya propagation also after Maria showed me in her video with the same failed outcome. I live in New York and we have a little delay to our propagation. I start propagation around April with better success. Last year I had pathos in water propagation and no roots showed for two months Feb. and March then in April those cuttings showed root growth. I am going to try again in April Maria's instruction on propagating Hoya. Maybe if you had a grow light constantly on those cuttings at an earlier time you may have success. Hope this helps. Thank you Maria for instructing us on your propagation success. Florida climate is very different than the rest of the country.

@@MariasgardenGarden thanks for the reply, I am so pleased that I joined your channel. I have a passion for plants and pottery, as I am a potter. Please consider some of my issues that I face here regarding plants. We don't find the soil mix that you advise in my country, if available too too expensive, can't afford. For my desert Rose I make the potting mix with soil+ cocopeat+ compost+ small pieces of terracotta and charcoal pieces. For my hoyas I don't add soil only Coco peat husk and again small pieces of charcoal and terracotta. Now I'm am going to add lots of cinnamon also. I am eagerly waiting for your reply. If you are available on WhatsApp I would love to contact you there.
