Thank you, Maria! I was using the wrong soil for my two desert roses and they both experienced root rot. I cut one a little wonky, but the other is thriving. Fingers crossed its ugly sister will survive, too!

You have such a personality honey...LOVE your crazy antics...Saw a clip on Christine Kobzeff's channel whom I have been following for some years. She is such a lovely girl. She and her husband Michael feel like family I have followed her for so long. She was opening her box of Desert Rose's from you....sooooo glad you are she are in contact...she has such a GREEN Thumb and loves her plants.....she has a huge subscription of folks so I am sure you will now see your own channel grow....Big Hugs
Nice plant hair, lol! I LOVE your little baby desert roses, they are so precious at that size! I want some that size so bad, I can't wait till I have some! Thanks a lot for the video, you are always entertaining and informative!
How are your little baby desert roses? How long does it take them to get stabilized after you transplant them? Is a transplant a really big shock? Do you ever lose any when you transplant them? I'm looking forward to seeing how the roots turn out on the older desert rose that you re-potted too!
Carrie King Hi Carrie yes everyone looses desert roses everywhere but to root them takes about six weeks to recover all you need to do it is after repotting place them in the shade for four weeks and keep them moist thank you Maria’s garden
Great stuff. I just cut the rot off a D Rose bottom rot I had 20 years after leaving it outside in upper 30s. I now have bonsai it. I first dried it in sun then put an electric fan on it. I learned that from cacti, it dries them out fast! The question is, how long does it take for it to grow roots???
Very very helpful! Thank you Maria. I may have a problem with one of my desert rose. The caudex felt soggy and soft.. I take it out from pot already, outside look good but it feels soft. I may have to cut it and follow this video to help it.
Mina Jensu Hi Mina please if you plant it’s soft doesn’t mean a problem please because you pull you plant you need to insert you finger to feel if you need to pull the soft if’s dehydration totally normal all you need to do water ones a week if doesn’t rain also please use you moisture tester thank you Maria’s garden
Maria you made my day. It's so good every time a video pops up. I learn something new and I have fun. Your so positive and its contagious. In Jesus name God bless
Very nice that’s what you love doing hi need to help accomplish you hobby and you help him doing what he likes doing also my husband don’t want me to work in my plant to much but I do
Hi Maria, great video. All the research I’ve done suggests that cinnamon alone is one of the best root stimulates available. Good luck saving those babies.
Love your videos! I’ve been having some trouble with desert rose. I transplanted one from Home Depot and planted it in gritty cactus soil. Very little organic materials. I noticed the caudex becoming soft so I watered and it caused root rot. Before I transplanted it the caudex was rock solid. I was worried about the 100% coir it was planted in so thought it needed repot. Big mistake! The caudex was size of a softball so I am very bummed! Trying to save it now with cinnamon and cut away the bad spots on caudex. I have hundreds of succulents and tropical plants but seem to have trouble with desert roses! Glad I found you! Very Knowledgeable and entertaining! If possible could I send you a photo of my adeniums?
Love ya Maria. You're such a good soul!!!! Love that you help with the homeless. Great table and wonderful up cycling!! Oh, and as always,...the video was not too long. They're great!! ~Tanya
Bob Burger Hi my friend Bob my country is being good to me and care about people sometimes they’re having hard time getting jobs or medications breaks my heart I try to help love Maria’s garden
Oh Maria, I would never get bored of watching your videos no matter how long they are...I learn a lot from watching you, like today ...I love the table and it’s so perfect for my small yard and since I have back problems it will work perfect. On one of your previous videos I learned how to drill holes on all kinds of pots. So thank you very much, and please continue to post videos where we learn not only how to take care of our babies, but also all kinds helpful stuff. You are great, thank you my friend 😘🙏🐞🐝🌵🌺
Maria, you always make me laugh and happy when you show your new videos. You have a great studio to work out of your beautiful greenhouse. Remember to take care of your back, because as get older you may not be pain-free. I wish you well and keep going strong. Phil💖🌺👍
Love the plant hair!! 😄😄 You are always a lot of fun to watch! I love how you save all struggling plants, that is one of my favorite parts of gardening, to see a plant that is almost dead, come back to life in full force with just a little bit of tlc! I never give up on a plant, even if it's making me crazy.. lol that just gets me more determined! Thanks for sharing Maria! My middle name is Maria btw!
Ok, I inherited a rather old and large Desert Rose and when I repotted it, I noticed there was rot on the roots. I cut off all the rot that I saw and once it was calloused over I put it in fresh soil. The stems were very long and leggy and some of them looked dry at the ends, so I started trimming. Almost all of the stems I cut had brown in the center. Do I need to treat the stems the same as the roots and cut them back until I don't see any brown in the center of the stems?
I cut the whole bottom of my DR plant off due to root rot. Covered the cut in cinnamon as you said in order to save my plant. Now its been 8 days, do I rinse the cinnamon off now before dipping in root growth or leave the cinnamon and dip as it is?
I love this long video! Love your hair . You’re too cute ! This video is so very helpful. I learned so much. And I love your table . It’s perfect! I’ll make myself one . My back hurts from too much work too. I was watering my plants on a shelf today and it was killing my back . I know how you feel . Thanks for all your hard work and entertaining videos ! You’re the BEST ! Big hugs 🤗 ❤️
I look forward to your videos. They are soo inspiring and informative. Your spirit is amazing, I can watch you for hrs. Love you, y muchos abrazos - Anna from NYC
Hello Maria, greetings from Ghana. Thank you for the informative videos, I've really learnt a lot from you. Can you please make a video showing how to identify different species of desert roses. I really want to collect different types and I don't want to make the mistake of buying the same type when there are no blooms on it. Thank you in advance.
Hi Maria! I have one I’m going to try this with. I as well have a seed pod, I created a net like you did for yours. I have a question about those seedlings that you’re planting, after you cut some of the bottom off should I put cinnamon on them too before Planting ?
Greetings from Pensacola- after recently discovering you and hearing you teach about Desert Roses - I saw some at Home Depot and bought my first 2 Desert Roses. It was until I bring them home and discovered the soil was pretty damp (wet). Plant is about 12 inches in height so I buy the kind of soils you recommend and bought a clay pot and was going to repot because the soil in the pot was not the kind that seems to drain well. After feeling the the plant it was hard until going down near where the soil line is and the plant felt a little soft compared to the upper half of the plant. Is the plant starting to rot if it is getting soft around the soil line and also the leaves look a light yellow in some of the leaves. Should I try taking it out of the wet soil and let it dry out before repotting in the soil you recommended and if they have long hairy stringy roots- should they be cut back like you are showing in this video or just leave the roots alone.
Jordan Allen omg my friend people like that the reason I want to keep my channel going to make people smile and learn together about are plants thank you Maria’s garden
Hi Maria... How old are your little plants in the video? I am trying to grow D.R.'s from seeds starting last June (2018) and my babies are far smaller than yours. I am wondering what I am doing wrong. My babies are only about 3 inches tall and the caudex is about 1/4 the size of your babies caudex in the video. Thanks... another great video!

Miss Maria, I think I killed my baby. I did overwater and the poor baby was rotten. I was only able to save literally 4 tips about an inch long. I'm going to do my best to save them. Do you think they even have a chance? Very much appreciating you!
KID TURBO hi my friend best to wait for spring to buy a new baby desert rose and stars all over don’t worry about I don’t think you over water sometimes thinks happened thank you Maria’s garden

Hello Maria, my little one year old desert rose seedling I bought from Amazon is dying. I noticed yesterday that the caudex was very soft almost mushy so I took it out of the pot and the roots were dry but I started trimming them off and the caudex was like watery so I cut off all the roots and the inside of the caudex was watery and mushy, is that the end or can I still save her?
Maria, you are a gem. Thank you for this VERY informative video. BORED? Are you kidding? You are a joy to watch!!
