The pump probably started sliping on the frayed belt and that's what made the temps go high in the first place. Then the water on the pulleys made things worse and turned the belt into spaghetti...
tbh i really think E10 is the most underrated Evo all time, its actually a better street level time attack car than 789, Stock block E10 can hold 310-330kw and still very reliable on track.
I've said it before and I'll say it again... Mark is THE HOMIE! Love you, bro! 4th place in a car you haven't driven in 5 years with no seat time on track? That's boss as hell! Well done! And... he's reigning in the DSM. What a legend!
Hell yeah Mark! That was awesome. Also the Talon sounds like it has a vacuum leak. My last car was doing the exact same thing and one of the vacuum hoses was disconnected. So stupid and simple but took forever to find it.
If it's affecting idle then is the throttle plate cracked open too much (or gunked open) at 0% throttle just enough to influence idle behaviour. Or similarly an issue with the ICV.
In HVAC they sell air pressure monitors for less than $100. If the Civic has dead air you can find it while driving with this mounted to the dash. They usually work in inHg and measure small pressures unlike turbo pressure gauges that read in psi. They even sell monitors that only show "differential" so the gauge only has a 0psi mark and a needle that swings over and under. If you are going to be making your own ducting you will definitely want one. Engines are expensive.
Paul’s talon didn’t blow up to be fair. An oil line failed and they got it fixed and back out. Dude did a 58.8 his first time at that track with minimal laps.
Mark is the best there is, end of story. My car (12 wrx) was doing something very similar recently, turns out there was corrosion on the map sensor connector. cleaned it up and it helped a lot. Just a thought. Keep killing it.
I remember not long ago when Mark was introduced. I know he felt off being on camera. He was so nervous. Now he is a natural! This channel has grown for the better over the years. I can't remember when i first subbed but it was a low sub count.
Man the emotion and spirit of cars and racing that you guys bring to this channel is amazing, and as a semi-regular who likes to keep tabs on your projects over the past couple years, it's been so awesome to witness!! Really gives me hope for my future in the hobby someday 😅
The last two episodes feel like we finally got the Mark highlights this channel needed. You can tell the confidence spike in him between episode 1 and 2. Excited to see more Mark focus content in the future!
Watching the 2 ben's working and racing their cars are always fun and exciting, but Big Fat Congratulation (BFC) to Mark and his weekend this was nail biting and wishing for him and to see the smiles on everyones faces! BFC
Was awesome to see Mark get out there and do that well after not driving the car on track for so long. Was really rooting for him to get a podium! Just all the more excuse to get out and try again. I also cannot believe the civic still ran after that.
happened to my crv k24, hose blew midway to my office, kept driving it. fixed the hose after arrived in my office (ofcourse i wait it to cool down), and still runs no issue. k series is no joke.
It was nice to see Mark smiling and having a good time. All that wrenching he usually does, him cutting loose was a nice change of pace. Losing to a car that is a track beast out of the box isn’t anything to be ashamed of. I hope he keeps competing. Mark, the MVP of G&G.
I will say it loudly from the hill tops that Jafromobile would be a great person to call for any and all needs of DSM. He's been building them for forever and knows these cars and motors inside and out.
The instant, abrupt cut from the partying and success of the race to the silence with crickets for the misery of the Talon sent me on the fucking floor
That 2G ripping down no name though 👀😂. Great seeing Mark back out there doing it. Mark, I’ll let your derogatory comments towards the talon slide this time. 😂
I would love to see an in-depth video of you guys tuning the Talon, troubleshooting, what the fuel graphs do, why you make one adjustment over another.
Man... I love the talon ...😅 .. sorry, but that has been one of my dream cars since I was single digits age 😅... and I would love to work on a dsm , so fun (sarcasm) na, but when done right, man, are they a force to be second with .. check the red demon , it's nuts ... but he'll, yeah , congrats, Mark, on the 4th place . That's rad af for not running in 4-5 years .. mad props, bro ... peace and love all, keep it rad, stay safe and build on..l8r famz and keep having fun
Mark shows up in jeans and a tee shirt and gets 4th in street class after not racing for 3-4 years. That’s skill.
And he you can tell he wasn't pushing it, he loves his car and didn't wanna break it. "The car has it, i don't"
He’s him
And gets back to fixing the DSM not long after. He really is built different.
Mark is the Grid Life equivalent of the Turkish Olympic shooter 😂
Meanwhile, short Ben: 14:19
i love how your mechanic is more and more turning into the 3rd show moderator
Agreed and he's killing it!
james may arc
*host :)
He should have his name changed to "Ben" though...
@@CneyTMSMark of the Bens
Ben and Ben are just on Mark’s channel now
💯 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
How does Mark live knowing he's the GOAT?
Lmao at Ben aggressively asking if Mark needs help tourqing his lug nuts while holding a cheeseburger.🤣
The storytelling and editing on this episode is very well done. The more Mark is in front of the camera, the more he shines. Bravo, gents!
Two Bens being sidekicks to Mark while their cars are broken is the most wholesome turn of events. Can't wait to see Mark on the podium!
5:51 that slow mo evo shot literally so bad ass it looks like its going to eat that civic
RIGHT???
He can modify, he can repair and he can f*cking drive
Mark the Goat 💪🏻💪🏻
Mark IS the main character.
He is HIM!!
One of your best episodes
“The belt was frayed already, which is why I have a spare…” just change the belt before you go to the track!!
Yeah that and the paddock drive letting it get to 290 were big L’s
The pump probably started sliping on the frayed belt and that's what made the temps go high in the first place. Then the water on the pulleys made things worse and turned the belt into spaghetti...
I always thought they know what they are doing but now I am not so sure...it must be for the views surely
@@jimmyjobsllc I can understand the paddock drive when you don't know it already puked out all the coolant, but the belt. . .
Gotta think like TH-camr. More drama means more content!
"yknow, Evos do Evo things - Could be a :57, could be an engine" 🤣🤣
As an evo X owner and enthusiast, it was great seeing mark tearing it up on the same setup from 5 years ago just showing how great of a car it is.
the X isnt getting much love like their older siblings
They are underrated and I loved it! (X enthusiast as well)
tbh i really think E10 is the most underrated Evo all time, its actually a better street level time attack car than 789, Stock block E10 can hold 310-330kw and still very reliable on track.
"I don't want you to check nothing cause I might lose 2 cylinders too!" 😂
I've said it before and I'll say it again... Mark is THE HOMIE! Love you, bro! 4th place in a car you haven't driven in 5 years with no seat time on track? That's boss as hell! Well done! And... he's reigning in the DSM. What a legend!
I feel Mark’s DSM pain. Kudos to him for not being a quitter who’s not afraid to learn. Bravo
15:21 Mark's walking like "Ahhhh sh*t, here we go again"
Hell yeah Mark! That was awesome. Also the Talon sounds like it has a vacuum leak. My last car was doing the exact same thing and one of the vacuum hoses was disconnected. So stupid and simple but took forever to find it.
Rpm will surge if it has a vacuum leak, didn't seem to be doing that but it's possible.
If it's affecting idle then is the throttle plate cracked open too much (or gunked open) at 0% throttle just enough to influence idle behaviour. Or similarly an issue with the ICV.
@@001mrbbb001thats highly possible, dsm throttle bodies have been known to be finicky at best, but usually leak from the seals, not the plate.

Always a pleasure getting to hangout with the G&G crew! Mark killed it this weekend
"It's a Good Car"
Tall Ben having war flashbacks 😂😂😂😂😂
The abrupt cut at the end of racing where Mark has to go back and fix the Talon 😭😭
NOW WE NEED A ROADTRIP WITH 3 CAR
Yes what an amazing idea!!!!!
Mark may not be interested in. I like how two of my pals do road trips all the time but I get absolutely exhausted on long trips.
Coming back after 5 years and doing so well. Well done Mark. Super awesome to see you racing too 👍
14:12 - "It's me, I'm the issue"
In the gaming community, we call it Skill Issue hahaha. Good stuff G&G, love my "Saturday Morning Cartoon's"
12:10 that fox body shot was sick
You guys definitely got me sold on Valvoline at this point lol
It is hilarious to me that the Eclipse out of all cars blew up while they also have an "talon" sitting at the shop not wanting to run. 😂
Paul’s talon didn’t blow up to be fair. An oil line failed and they got it fixed and back out. Dude did a 58.8 his first time at that track with minimal laps.
Awesome video as always Mark, Ben T and Ben L.
Man your guys are getting more entertaining by the week, loved the mark episode!
Best Automotive content on the entire internet!!! Mark is such a great addition to the channel❤
We need longer content!!!!
Good to see you all finding a way to race.
I hope an EVO or Eclipse gets to stay in that quiver of race cars. 🎉
Mark is the best there is, end of story. My car (12 wrx) was doing something very similar recently, turns out there was corrosion on the map sensor connector. cleaned it up and it helped a lot. Just a thought. Keep killing it.

Brilliant job Mark, fantastic race after your time away from street class.
I vote for more content on Mark’s evo 10 racing the street class. This was refreshing.
Love when these videos have A and B plots
Can we get a bit of a street class build on the EvoX, then Mark vs Ben Evo battle?
This what I been wanting too
Man the emotion and spirit of cars and racing that you guys bring to this channel is amazing, and as a semi-regular who likes to keep tabs on your projects over the past couple years, it's been so awesome to witness!! Really gives me hope for my future in the hobby someday 😅
LETS GO MARK WITH MY DREAM EVO
KILLING IT OUT THERE ON THE TRACK !!!
Love this show and Mark's Evo on the track in the latest series. You guys have a good chemistry that keeps me hooked each week!
The Mark podium part literally felt like an anime! Especially being an underdog
So close but couldn’t make it maybe next time!
The last two episodes feel like we finally got the Mark highlights this channel needed. You can tell the confidence spike in him between episode 1 and 2. Excited to see more Mark focus content in the future!
I’m Ngl. I love the fact that mark is involved in a lot more of the videos and now just a mechanic. He is him!
Aww yeah my favourite day of the week when these videos go up
Love Eddy’s sayings that absolutely no one says 🤣
Watching the 2 ben's working and racing their cars are always fun and exciting, but Big Fat Congratulation (BFC) to Mark and his weekend this was nail biting and wishing for him and to see the smiles on everyones faces! BFC
Guys, these videos just keep getting better and better! Awesome job putting them together! A true class-act in automotive YouTubing.
I think this is the earliest I've ever been! I can already tell that this is going to be a great video
samer very rare
Im lovin all the time attack rivalry friendship atmosfer, its just another blessed things in life
I’d love to see more of that Evo X
Love seeing Mark get more comfortable in front of the camera!
Was awesome to see Mark get out there and do that well after not driving the car on track for so long. Was really rooting for him to get a podium! Just all the more excuse to get out and try again.

waited all week for this ep
We love mark on the track, MORE PLEASEEEEE
Day 1 of asking you to do up to speed on your dad.
I love that don’t touch my car. Lol
big fan of seeing marks evo on the channel
Mark is crushing it! Love seeing that silver evo fly!
lol @me at 8:25 not knowing how to lead a group out on the outlap! Great video guys
happened to my crv k24, hose blew midway to my office, kept driving it. fixed the hose after arrived in my office (ofcourse i wait it to cool down), and still runs no issue. k series is no joke.
Evo X doing Evo X things 😂 good stuff Mark
Great job Mark !! We know it’s frustrating when your car doesn’t want to run. You got this !
Mark makin it look easy! Great job!
Mark is the man! Crushing it on the track with no notice and little practice. Getting the dsm running again. Jesus what can't this man do?!
It's not even my car and i felt a ton of relief when you were able to crank the motor over again.
It was nice to see Mark smiling and having a good time. All that wrenching he usually does, him cutting loose was a nice change of pace. Losing to a car that is a track beast out of the box isn’t anything to be ashamed of. I hope he keeps competing. Mark, the MVP of G&G.
What an episode! Great race for Mark!!
Another awesome video guys... very well made 👍 awesome job Mark
Mark is the most humble racer there is. Good luck with the rebuild Ben
what an ideal customer, this mechanic is going to be happy for a long time
Really cool to see Mark killin it out there. I had no idea!
Do not touch my car 😂😂😂😂 great run mark!
I love the Talon. If you guys include shipping abroad I will absolutely buy it for a dollar.
I have to be honest I am slightly dissapointed these captions are less deranged. That said, Great video, and Mark got a good haircut!
Guys and gals, please make sure to check 1. Oil level 2. Coolant level 3. Brake fluid and 4. Leaks.. before every track day.
Mark is the man!!! Look forward to the podium my man:)
I will say it loudly from the hill tops that Jafromobile would be a great person to call for any and all needs of DSM. He's been building them for forever and knows these cars and motors inside and out.
This is now a 3 host channel. Congratulations Mark.
The instant, abrupt cut from the partying and success of the race to the silence with crickets for the misery of the Talon sent me on the fucking floor
❤ love the vibes you guys bring to the track event keep it fun supportive and competitive!
So cool to see the evo we’ve had too much civic content nice balance now
That 2G ripping down no name though 👀😂. Great seeing Mark back out there doing it. Mark, I’ll let your derogatory comments towards the talon slide this time. 😂
The talon has danger in manifold. Lakas mo mark. Kaya mo yan.
The master mechanic come into the race and save the day!! Some awesome Japanese Anime,/ initial-D shit there. Good job Mark.
man you guys are so fun to watch! ❤🎉
Mark is my new favorite TH-camr.
I would love to see an in-depth video of you guys tuning the Talon, troubleshooting, what the fuel graphs do, why you make one adjustment over another.

If the engine is running very rich, the IFR sensor can sometimes get overloaded and show very lean readings.
Go Mark go!!! Ben’s new role as driver coach
It's a good car! 😂😂 I love it man. 12:39
Might be time to set up a coolant temp safety there ben
Mitsubishi POWER!!!
Reliable and fast!
Probably one of the EASIEST cars to work on of that time period as well.
Mark proving that evos can be reliable, main character vibe for sure 💪
Imagine knowing your car’s malfunctioning and keep driving it like a re re 😂
Love the pov in the back!!!
I love how Mark is basically the mascot of the channel now.
Don’t touch my car 😂😂 Ben
Maybe I'm just used to Ben's Evo but seeing mark's Evo going without issues is weird
