- Magda and her friend found Icky on the street, and knew that they couldn't just leave her there. So they decided to bring her along for the ride!

My parents were driving from Florida to Texas to visit my grandparents and then go camping out west. They stopped at a state park in Tennessee and decided to see the little museum they had, and heard before they saw a small black kitten. The rangers had taken her from her mother and were trying to find her a home, and needless to say my father got very attached to her. She travelled with them in the motorhome and took over their house for the next sixteen years. Her name was Betsy and she was very loved.

Forgot to mention: Betsy rode on my father's lap while he drove. A few years after they adopted her, a Massachusetts Turnpike collector saw her and said, "Aww, look at the little babushka!" Her nickname was Babushka from then on. Sorry, I just like that story.

People who rescue animals while on vacation or on a trip are honestly legends. It's so easy to say you can't do it because it definitely puts you in a difficult situation, but these people are empathetic enough to know that these poor souls are not gonna survive on their own.

I agree, if you're on vacation, it's hard to take on an unexpected rescue but they did it with ease using their common sense and creativity so that this little creature could find her forever, loving home. Bravo to you two, you make me proud of humans!

These two women are angels. They actually traveled w this kitten, ON BIKES, until they could find a permanent home for her. They actually took her to a vet and everything. Omg, I have no words to describe the gratitude and admiration I have for them. That precious kitten was just following them everywhere and sleeping in the basket while being wheeled around the country, it's an awesome story and I'm so happy that you shared it w us. Thank you so much for not abandoning Icky and keeping her close until you could find her a safe and loving home. Love and appreciation from High Point NC USA.

It was Icky's lucky day when you found her and took care of her. Thank you, young ladies and Jim, for giving this cat the best time of her life and all the love and affection.
Kitten not only secured Mom for life, but also free transportation. Winning.
She looked so cute in her basket and traveling around with you both. The fact that she stayed and didn't run off is amazing. I am lad you were able to find her a forever home. You re very kind to take her along with you. Lucky Icky! Enjoy the rest of your travels.
Yeah, I hate to say it, but whenever I see such videos I feel terrified, like, Oh my God, what is she runs off, if something scares them and they shoot off into some unknown desolate place and doesn't come back. Maybe it's because I had a skittish cat once and that fear stays with me but I always watch these with some unease.
But then you watch videos like 1bike1world and see how his cat is so calm. I suppose is depends on the cat's temperament and it's different to taking your cat out for the day, if they are not the easygoing type or trained.

@@sonias9722 In that situation, of the stories I have seen (and I will assume they're true) those cats are ones who have lived rough on their own and were abandoned or grew up away from humans.
I get nervous because A: we once had a skittish cat and even around her home territory she could freak and run away and get lost and B: our first boy had a habit of following you to school and that generally made me worry.
The last cat we had moved in with us because the people who had him (their son's cat) weren't interested in him and so he moved around the neighborhood deciding we were the chosen family to live with - he slept on my mum's bed every night, how much more owned can you be. But he had this ranging/patrolling habit he wouldn't break and for some reason he was not scared of cars especially when crossing roads and you can guess how he left us.
But my other cats, despite their foibles, they stayed in home range.
I doubt I will ever stop having the gut pains when watching someone take their cat to the beach and let them run off and around. I am sure there are special circumstances we don't know of, but hey, it worries me none the less. And not every cat is the same and surely if they knew their cat was skittish, they wouldn't let it out, not without a lead at least.

There is absolutely no indication that this cat is living in Scotland, only that a Scottish man adopted her. It is more likely that he is an expat.

Been a shelter volunteer, I say thank you to the two girls who picked her up, took her on their trip and took her to the vet. Thank you to the vet for posting her and for Jim and his family for adopting her, what a great turnout, I wish this happened to all the homeless animals!

Love from the US....I have been taking care of a colony for two and a half years (roughly twenty Plus) and there are times when I wanna pack it in because of the financial stress...but....Its moments like yours that make it worth it. I dont think in the end I have the coldness to turn my back regardless if they keep me broke...FOREVER LOL

I'm amazed the cat stayed in the basked on the bicycle.
imagine having one million subs, post comment, leaves for 10 hours, no likes nor replys
cats for some reason like movement, when its open (not in a car). If they have movement its relaxing for them. My cat likes to jump up on a stroller that we have and let me push her around the house. She's perfectly fine just laying there watching everything go by, or pushing her outside down the street and back. It's like walking except she just gets to lay there and look about. There are many videos of people with cats on their bikes, motorcycles, etc just going around with a perfectly happy cat laying back enjoying the sights.
These people saved the cat from a life on the streets. Wish more would do the same for animals in need! Great job!
More like they saved her from death on the streets.

Without doubt what they did for her was the best thing that could have happened to her.
addendum: I have a female tabby of similar colors to her looking at me like "YOU are MY heater, food giver and shitscooper, MINE!!!!!!" right now thanks to the meowing in the video.
Me too! I found my cat abandoned in a parking garage. He had heat stroke and was very weak and throwing up. I took him home, took him to my basement where it was nice an cool, put food and water down for him. I checked his progress every half hour or so. After about 4 hrs. he start to perk up and get some energy. Had him for 3 yrs. now. He's currently sleeping on the sofa belly up.
This reminds me of the story of the Scottish cyclist who found a kitten on his bike ride and they became best friends cycling the open road together.

As a cat lover, having lost his friend almost a year ago and still grieving a lot, it is so lovely to see a poor little creature, being closer to death than to life, getting rescued, being shown the world and being given a loving home. Seeing that kitty with closed eyes in that bag, it's so adorable.
What a sweet story. The girls did a wonderful deed rescuing her and changing her life. I love happy endings, especially animal rescues.
I follow a Scottish guy on TH-cam who rescued a kitten while biking across Europe and now she's a seasoned passenger (1bike1world).

@@presentfuture7563 I'm Scottish and my brother rescued and adopted an amazing stray tabby kitten that he found injured on the road so I'd have to say "yes!". He was in a car not a bicycle though but I know he would have transported her in any way necessary!

Many thanks to these 2 young women who rescued Icky from a terrible fate on the streets. Icky now has the love of a fantabulous family & a home to call her very own thanks to the kindness of those 2 women. I wish there were a loving home for every single kitten, cat, puppy, dog forced to live on the streets through no fault of their own. I have always adopted not shopped & always will because adopting an animal not only saves them but in allot of instances they save us too.

Reminds me of the gentleman from Scotland of 1 Bike 1 World who found his little kitty he named Nala and has been biking around the world with her every since. I love following them on their adventures! He has a special rain hood for her and a special wind /sun hood too. Nice video thank you!

We have 15 unwanted cats living with us. All happy together. They are all ages, shapes, sizes, temperaments, personalities. All are neutered, vet visits when needed, good food, comfort, warmth, safety and love. They keep me going in these difficult times. My family.

I had a male brown tabby, about the same size as Icky, come to my door 20 years ago. He meowed once or twice as I unlocked my door, and stood there looking at me, not fearful at all, like we'd known each other before, although I'd never met him. I sighed at the inconvenience, but could tell he was young and hungry. So, I let him in, thinking I'd find him a home later, and I did....my home. Rizzo passed at age 19. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Got my Charlie, orange tabby. He was born feral where we were living. HE adopted US!! So glad, his other three litter mates did not survive. He was the only one who liked coming in the house and the human interaction.
This reminds me of Dean and Nala. Both kittens/cats are very fortunate and loved. They got used to the handlebar baskets very quickly !!!!! Dean and Nala are traveling by bike in Italy right now. Nala has her own passport ( easier to cross borders). Nala has 26 at least countries under her paws. Both kitties are beautiful and very special and also their owners.

I love this channel because all the stories have a happy ending but I realise too many animals suffer and have miserable lives so I always give to animal charities. Animals need us and depends on us. They need to be loved.

Girls, you were angels in this cat's life. I visited Scotland once and I felt in love with it. Scotland people are very gentle. There's this scottish guy, Dean, who found a kitten in Bosnian mountains while he was cycling too. He adopted her and today she's his companion in his travels around the world. Their vídeos are great and Nala visited already 32 countries 😊
It is wonderful that there are beautiful people like you..I'm sure Icky is now a very happy cat.
