You're going to continue to take care of her. I had a stray mom give birth to four babies in my home office. All babes got great homes through a private shelfter. I brought Mom down to get spayed and to be put up for adoption. I dropped her off, drove home, and turned right back around and waited until "Precious" came out of the surgical recoveryt room. She stayed with me for the next 8 years and 4 months until it was her time. Such a gift to be chosen.

Great story, Thank You for sharing… I will never forget my little cat who choose me instead of his abusive first owner’s. I was so lucky to have him till he was 21 years old! He was only about six months old when he ran away and moved in with me… at the same time the human society went to take the other animals from the previous owners. They were alcoholics who live next door who were witnessed throwing him and leaving another cat to try and heal itself from a serious laceration :( I was so happy to hear they were told they could no longer have any animals in their care!
My little black cat was the perfect companion who showed me so much love.

Then he figured out how to use our doggy door and realized it was warm and there was food she decided to live in our house now. Luckily for us he decided to allow us to stay. He’s was a little mad when i took him to the vet for shots and neutering but he’s ok now. He now uses my wife’s face as a mattress at night.

I had a stray cat appear one day, when i was about 19. We noticed she was hanging out around the shed a lot and figured well that's fine if she lives there uses it for shelter. Left food out for her even.
Then this one night. She kept coming to the door and crying loudly, wanted someone to follow her to the shed. Figured out she was having kittens and wanted someone there for it. It was somewhat late and as cool as it was, we wanted to be in bed, so thinking she was finished we'd leave. She'd be back at the door crying for us to follow. Until all 4 kittens were there.
This being late summer, just going on fall. We put a box out there with blankets. Which she quickly took to and appreciated. She was somewhat feral too, and she trusted us because she needed to for her kittens. She surprised me actually when she caught this squirrel and took it to her kittens, the thing was almost as big as she was. As they grew up they needed a bigger box. And then once we thought it seemed too cold for them and because they seemed big enough now, we brought them all inside to the basement. Mother cat was nervous but she seemed to understand it.
Anyway we carefully selected 3 close friends to adopt the kittend later on, and we kept one for ourselves. Which turned out to be the best cat i ever had, and he had a long happy life there, loved being outside and watching the yard from on top of the shed. Always respectful, never did anything wrong, i mean this cat only used the litter box if he absolutely had no other choice. Never went in the yard either he was just a great cat in every way.
The mother cat ran off eventually. After we took her to the vet so she couldn't have more kittens. She started coming around less before disappearing.
But that taught me how pets find you. They pick you however they do it for whatever reason, since then i let them choose me. They know what they're doing.

Because of my cat-chasing dog, she has a room to herself full with a balcony of her own, and I thinks she feels safe in there, and she trusts me. They can pick up on our emotions, can’t they? Cat probably watched her for a while and did not see Lady in states of anger or roughness. Maybe saw her moving slowly and predictably. Relaxed. Maybe watched her interact with a human or her environment in a gentle way. All these things make Cat feel safe. Thus cat “picks” human. (Just as they pick each other and their fave hangout spots.)

My first cat, Lucie, came to me around the middle of February, 2020. I opened the back door one morning, and there she was, just outside my double chain link gate. Now, I had been a dog person for over 60 years, and had no use for cats. But, I had been completely alone for over 20 years. So, I sat down on the steps and just spoke to her quietly. After 15 minutes, she came up to me and we’ve been together ever since. By the way, she was pregnant too but, having never had a cat, I didn’t know it until she woke me up one morning to show me what she had ‘found’. 😲😀🥰

Years ago, my mom - who is a dog person and never owned a cat in her entire life - acquired a stray cat that way. The difference is that her potential cat was standoffish and hissy. She had four babies under the shrubs in the front yard. Mom's friends all came over, and every kitten got a home. Mom kept the mother cat, who became a spoiled house cat, and called her Momma.

She also had two kittens and the girl had her exact colours, just matte lol although the baby girl was eventually adopted out to a friend of mine, baby boy and mom cat were a part of our family for 14 and 15 years respectively. 100% the best part of my childhood and teen years was having those cats by my side.

She was noticeably pregnant. I was worried about her and decided the next time I saw her I’d bring her into my apartment. She was so friendly and sweet. Not long afterward she had her babies under my bed. She trusted me when I moved them into a closet and a bed I made for her in there. Everything went well. I named her Jasmine and when I finally moved out I took her with me. Kittens got homes ❤️

My cat came to live with me 3 years ago. Ironically that was just to the time where my old cat was about to pass away, when he suddenly appeared in our garden. I think he sensed something, that I needed emotional support to deal with losing my cat who has been with me throughout my whole life. And he too looked for a home to stay. So we adopted eachother. He's extremely clingy, seeks for my company the whole time and won't let me be alone at all. We have such a close bond that he even comes when I call his name, whenever he is outside somewhere doing his cat business. I love him a lot and I wish every person in this world to experience what it feels like to be the chosen one. It's a true friendship.

The kitty is on my bed behind me having her kittens Can you imagine Well I was in awe for sure she had 6 babies and all were healthy except an eye infection that came from mama. But one evening terrible blizzard conditions were forecasted so I knew I had to get her inside. I gave her some food and quickly grabbed her up while she was eating, and I took her inside. We had this happen a few years ago. We had 3 cats so we let the momma in our garage. She wouldn’t come inside (even in cold winter nights) until that one day she finally asked in. A couple hours later we check on her and hear faint little mews, look behind some stuff and could barely make out a puddle of kittens. She had 4 little girls and a little boy. Long story short we now have a new little boy and we found the 4 girls homes, and momma gets to go outside and has her own room in the garage now.

My cat, who's passed on, had the same markings at this mama cat. When I went to the shelter to pick out a cat, I had singled out 2 kittens, which uncannily, had the same markings as these kittens. A young woman was enamored by the all white kitten, so I ended adopting the tuxedo. Boy I miss him.

Such a heartwarming story. You are a very kind & loving person to recognize she was telling you something. God bless you & I secreted hope you love her too much to let her go! It was meant to be that she sought help from you. So many humans would have run her off, scared her or hurt her. THANK YOU 🌹💜🙏

Based on her behavior, I'm gonna guess that she was some irresponsible person's pet, and when they didn't get her spayed and she got pregnant, they dumped her.
One of our kitties belonged to someone else at some point, but whoever had him was physically abusive. When he started coming around our place, he was thin as a rail and starved for attention as much as for food. At first, he was super paranoid of feet and had a really hard time with being touched on the tail or side. Over time, he's settled down a whole lot and has no more issues with touch or holding. He's been with us for nearly a decade, now. :)

This actually reminds me a bit of my cat Frappe, who at first didn't like us and would run away when she saw us, but when she was pregnant she came to use for us to feed her (and a month after she had her babies somewhere else she brought em over to us lol)

Same thing happened to me in 1984. There I was, doing the dishes, when I heard a meow from outside - there sat a cat on our lawn and wanted in. She wanted to be fed and 4 weeks later had five kittens. Vet thought her to be 6 to 8 years. We found homes for the five and she got spayed, too and stayed with us until her kidneys nearly killed her and we had her euthanized (leaving that to the kidneys would have been torture).
Hope Musch found a new good home in a later life earlier and not just for her senior years.

This was how we got a bunch of our own cats. 😂 Momma Cat (What we'd named the stray when we saw her belly getting big as a balloon, and it just stuck) adopted us when she got close to popping, and we kept her and her kittens. We'd already had a pet cat who had kittens (this was back decades ago, before spaying and neutering was such a big thing, so we didn't know any better) so we were well prepared to take care of them, and basically hand-raised them with Momma so that by the time they were adults, they had become the most people-loving, affectionate, cuddly cats EVER!

I got myself into quite the predicament. I am feeding 5 feral cats at work. We just moved to a new building a few miles away. I couldn’t bear the thought of them waiting each morning for no one to show up. So I’ve been leaving earlier to stop by there and feed them. Nobody wants to take them because they’re older now and they’re feral. They only trust me. So not exactly adoptable. Even worse they’re not fixed yet. Sigh…
