Most people cannot adopt an animal but most of us can make a small monthly donation to our local shelters. Years ago I started feeding an abandoned cat who one day brought a friend, who brought a friend.......

What Orwellian hell is this, how can someone work in a place like that. It’s uplifting to see someone with a big heart willing to help a poor animal in need.
I can see three types of people working in a place like that. 1. The people, who don't care about animals and/or don't think, animals have the kind of feelings that people have. 2. People, who think, it is neccessary, to safe the life of others. Including other animals, but primarily the lifes of humans. 3. People who know, they can't stop this testing and try to give those suffering animals the best life possible in the meantime. As in "If I work here and can make their life a little better, it's better than someone who doesn't care about them."

I would guess the best way to help these poor animals is to share this video and spread the word. I immediately sent this to a friend in Oklahoma who has a degree in animal research (I forget the exact name of it) so they or those they know can help them if they can.

I actually don't buy that they kept them food deprived or they would be heavily fined by the USDA for every cat that they were treating that way. It's quite literally illegal and all animals used in testing are supposed to be kept in the least stressful way possible and depriving them off food for their lifetime would count as animal abuse and they would have been shut down. All testing facilities will have enrichment programs and as she said they were well socialized for easy handling which likely was due to enrichment. This is actually crazy. I'm not saying they were treated like they would have been in homes but I think this is highly exaggerated.

Let's say that you're right, and THEY are starving the cats. Since some of the cats may actually starve to death, they'd have to breed more to make up for the loss. And just to be clear, BREEDING ANIMALS IS A NIGHTMARE. it takes up a lot of time, and resources. they may not even produce any offspring. AND they'd have to condition the cats to make them friendlier. So overall, starving the cats would be a waste of resources and time. So unlikely they actually starved them, the cats probably just went hungry for like an hour.

Under Fauci, research grants that did not routinely use animals were mostly rejected. Very little testing at this point needs animal subjects, but it was the US policy. What they did to beagles was beyond monstrous.

🌿🐾 I've thought for some time that there is another way to have medicines tested without involving a single 4-legged baby. Testing on fur babies does not give results that always help humans anyway. If I were in prison with no hope of going traveling to visit anything in the world, to water-ski or skydive or whatever,I would agree to participate in the testing of new procedures, new medicines, etc.. Naturally it would require a security guard to accompany me, but that could be covered by donations from taxes or animal lovers. Some would say this is a radical idea, but testing on these poor monkeys & dogs & cats & rabbits and whatever is way past radical in my mind. Any thoughts on this, my friends?

Whether it is a cat that was rescued or any other sentient being it is all related to the horrific cruelty of animals. Certainly not intentionally shaming or badgering anyone. This video was a missed opportunity to educate people on purchasing only cruelty free products, making people aware that they could help stop experimentation on animals by refusing to buy products that participate in such cruelty. Remaining silent does nothing to help the Animals. If you do another video when you have found a friend for Bagel please consider informing people and encourage people to buy only cruelty free products.

Pets don't like vet day, but Bagel was way beyond. His first encounter with a lab type setting after he was saved and free, after he knew love, must have been absolutely heartbreaking. This is one of the great and moving animal stories on FB. Someone who cares about them and rescues them from cruelty is wonderful. I wish all of the vile people on FB who post horrible videos showing animal exploitation and abuse could be made to watch this all day every day until their compassion kicks back in.
Now that's a project that is worth supporting. And all those dogs and cats, after going through all that, are still friendly and want to be with people. So many times we don't deserve that love.

My point was that her existence means I can earn money by collecting kittens, treat them poorly (preferably in a way that also earns me money, like testing various chemicals on their bodies), and then put them up for sale as rescues.
The minute my pup was put in my arms i promised him the world. My world revolves around him.... animals do so much for us, it is difficult to articulate. I am happy she took one of the cats and that she has compassion to understand Bagel's emotions.

Thanks for your kind words 🩵 I agree money is the primary driver for this cruelty - but it can end, because animal-free testing alternative technologies like organs-on-chips, mini organoids, and even AI models, are both more accurate and (eventually will be) more cost efficient! Animal testing has a 95% failure rate in translation to human clinical trials. For drug development and discovery, animals are largely useless. The status quo is going to change soon, and it will mark a paradigm shift in science! ☺️

I had the wonderful opportunity to adopt a cat from a University Research Lab (Metabolism study for 4 years). Adapting the cat from cedar chips to clay litter, variety of flooring. She was with me during college and was able to adjust to living in Colorado, Arizona,Indiana and Las Vegas. She was my sidekick and was a very good pet. Recommend adopting every time. Your video brought so many memories back. Thank You.

I actually don't buy that they kept them food deprived or they would be heavily fined by the USDA for every cat that they were treating that way. It's quite literally illegal and all animals used in testing are supposed to be kept in the least stressful way possible and depriving them off food for their lifetime would count as animal abuse and they would have been shut down. All testing facilities will have enrichment programs and as she said they were well socialized for easy handling which likely was due to enrichment. This is actually crazy. I'm not saying they were treated like they would have been in homes but I think this is highly exaggerated.
Scientific testing is important, but it should never, ever, EVER come at the expense of another living thing if it can be helped.

Let's say that you're right, and THEY are starving the cats. Since some of the cats may actually starve to death, they'd have to breed more to make up for the loss.
And just to be clear, BREEDING ANIMALS IS A NIGHTMARE. it takes up a lot of time, and resources. they may not even produce any offspring. AND they'd have to condition the cats to make them friendlier. So overall, starving the cats would be a waste of resources and time. So unlikely they actually starved them, the cats probably just went hungry for like an hour.

Under Fauci, research grants that did not routinely use animals were mostly rejected. Very little testing at this point needs animal subjects, but it was the US policy. What they did to beagles was beyond monstrous.

🌿🐾 I've thought for some time that there is another way to have medicines tested without involving a single 4-legged baby. Testing on fur babies does not give results that always help humans anyway.
If I were in prison with no hope of going traveling to visit anything in the world, to water-ski or skydive or whatever,I would agree to participate in the testing of new procedures, new medicines, etc.. Naturally it would require a security guard to accompany me, but that could be covered by donations from taxes or animal lovers.
Some would say this is a radical idea, but testing on these poor monkeys & dogs & cats & rabbits and whatever is way past radical in my mind.

The majority of people leaving kind comments and declaring that they are animal lovers have no problem paying someone to abuse and kill animals on their behalf so they can eat them.
Whether it is a cat that was rescued or any other sentient being it is all related to the horrific cruelty of animals.
Certainly not intentionally shaming or badgering anyone.
This video was a missed opportunity to educate people on purchasing only cruelty free products, making people aware that they could help stop experimentation on animals by refusing to buy products that participate in such cruelty. Remaining silent does nothing to help the Animals.

Pets don't like vet day, but Bagel was way beyond. His first encounter with a lab type setting after he was saved and free, after he knew love, must have been absolutely heartbreaking. Poor boy must have been SO scared and confused. Thank you so much for saving him and loving him. I'm beyond grateful. You were bonded before you met, and he WAS sent to heal your heart. Mrs. Jett Kitty is now 19 and more than a bit clingy as she insists on sleeping with me every night, with her front paws on my left arm while under the blankets. [I usually sleep on my left side due to having my back broken by a drunk driver and made worse by an assualt by an alcoholic bipolar neighbor who was told that I was actually a convicted sexual predator with the same first name and similar sounding last name by a very disturbing man]...

Animal testing has a 95% failure rate in translation to human clinical trials. For drug development and discovery, animals are largely useless. I had the wonderful opportunity to adopt a cat from a University Research Lab (Metabolism study for 4 years). Adapting the cat from cedar chips to clay litter, variety of flooring. She was with me during college and was able to adjust to living in Colorado, Arizona,Indiana and Las Vegas. She was my sidekick and was a very good pet. Recommend adopting every time. Your video brought so many memories back. Thank You.
I’m so very grateful that Bagel got such a loving and caring mom after what he went through. You can hear her love for him as she tells his story. I wish she had been able to adopt another cat from where she got Bagel. Those cats broke my heart.

It happens every day. We give them extra attention and put a soft stuffed animal in their cages for them to cuddle with.
The thought of that testing lab still exists is mind boggling! Animal rights need’s to improve and we need to back them up by spreading the word. Enough is enough!
