The engine breaking as mentioned on the new Jimny is not very good but crawling downhill can be improved with lower transfer gears, my old SJ413 lwb was similar downhill to the Jimny until l put 6.5:1 transfer gears in and then it was easily if not better downhill than my V8 Range Rover!
