I'm Cuban and we make a similar meat mixture but with raisins and spanish olives. It's called Picadillo! - it makes a fantastic filling for empanadas. Thanks for the tip on using the puff pastry dough. Never made them like that but that makes them super easy! Thanks!
There’s this restaurant up the street here in Atlanta that makes empanadas with picadillo. They are Amazing!!!!! I’ve made Picadillo before. I’ll have to try to make picadillo empanadas one day.
We buy them made usually. When we make them we use the pre made discos. I haven’t made anything for a while. My wife keeps asking me to make chicken ficassee so sometime this week
We make meat pies using the puff pastry and I bake them . My kids love those things... We use a bowl to shape them and a fork to press them closed and we put a few fork holes on top ..

As a child I would eat meat, potatoes and veggies. 😂 For my birthday the family enjoyed a sheet cake and home made ice cream while I had my choice of apple, peach or cherry pie and neopolitan ice cream. 😂 As an adult my corn bread etc. I make from scratch without eggs.
@@jamesthomes303 it's NOT funny 😢. I LOVE eggs but became allergic about when I hit 40-45 yrs young. I still eat them once in a blue moon, but am very careful, so I only really need a good nap afterwards 😂

I had some buffalo chicken empanadas in Long Island New York that were the best I ever had. They were huge and plump. Served with some sort of ranch sauce. They were so good, I ordered a second batch before I left. Duck empanadas from ZEA in New Orleans were also great.

I made these empanadas with my daughter. We had a lot of fun and they were great! I seasoned up that beef well! I had to cook them for about 30 Minutes tho. Thanks for all your recipes brotha! 👊🏾
Deliciosas!! you have nailed the recipe, excellent, thank you for sharing, this is the way we make them at home, only deference is that we have our Mexican spices, I must try them with your spices and taste that deliciousness, I actually add habanero dices peppers, sea salt, fresh chiltepín peppers, serrano peppers and yellow peppers, ( all peppers are optional) tomatoes, cilantro, natural real pressed garlic, onions, and some green stuffed olives small ones we call them (manzanillas) and the veggies as you did with the potatoes all with extra virgin olive oil or pork lard for flavor, please excuse my English, still learning. You are an excellent chef, thank you so much for sharing Nicely done!!!!😇🥰 Gos bless you and your family, love your food!

She uses premade empanada wraps. Making the dough from Masa can be tricky.
