I’m from California and I grew up with many Latinos. I love Mexican food so I’m happy I found your TH-cam channel. You are a good example of why one of the first sentence I learned in Spanish is “las latinas, son las mujeres más bellas del mundo.”
Your technique for searing the hamburger is pure brilliance. I cant believe I never thought of that or saw anyone else do that. You make it thin, reducing the cooking time. And you create more surface area for letting it brown up. I'm trying this next time I use GB. Thanks!
I am retired and moved from Florida. I miss all my Hispanic coworkers. They always had the most delicious foods for lunch. Your recipe is very different from the Puerto Ricans Empanada. They used what they had on hand. Your version has a lot of extra things in it, very interesting. I must try this. Thank you for sharing this with us..... gracias bella dama.
Try Colombian empanadas (both the corn ones and the flour ones). They're simply the best! Of course, Mexico (especially Villa Cocina's recipe for red pork tamales) beats Colombia's tamales. If you're very adventurous, try both Ecuador's and Venezuela's (sweet) "Hallacas", as well as each of these country's Bunelos / Muchines" (made with yucca and cheese and served salty in Ecuador and with sweet syrup in Venezuela. Such great eatin'! 😃
Hi Rosanna! I just found Your channel, after Your first video, I already subscribed, lol You are beautiful, and explaining very clear the steps, Im Hungarian, Living in the USA, but I have strong connection to Mexico, as I used to live There, and yes I Speak Spanish, so the culture is super close to Me :) Thank You for showing the authentic flavors, keep up the great job. xxx
Awe man, I was born in Panama when my dad was stationed there and my mom and abuelita used to make empanadas when we were kids. This brought back so many memories and it looks so good....I love how in the hispanic community there can be variations of the same dish depending on where you're from.
I have been following you for a few years now and love your recipes. You are one of two I follow specifically for Mexican cuisine. Great recipes! As always, thank you for sharing 😊
I just found you, this is the first video I see here on YT. Thank you for sharing your recipe my mom used to make these but she called them a different name. So beautiful memories of my mom that this recipe brings me. ♥️🙏🏻♥️
Looks wonderful and glutin free. Most impressed at the brevity and clarity of your presentation. Quick, efficient and plenty of personality at the same time. Thank you
Brand new sub here! Loving your style and your recipes! I want to note that your camera person is excellent! And your editing is spot on for your audience!
Wow, I am so glad to stumble upon your channel, FANTASTIC recipes, wonderful presence in front of the camera, and beautifully shot and edited. Thank you so much for sharing! I love the taste reactions at the end, makes me excited to taste your recipes.
It's funny, I've always used the same empanada recipe I found a long time ago via google simply because it always got compliments. Seeing this recipe though, I think my family would love this so much more! My mouth is watering, these look delish!! I will make these today, what a great way to start the new year, woot!
@@VillaCocina I’ve been trying for many years to make my mama biscuits and trust me I’m horrible with dough. My Oder sister makes our mama’s and she guided me and she couldn’t even figure why they came out like bricks,😂 would love to learn though. Have a wonderful day.
🎉WOW THIS IS GREAT !!!! 👍🏼😋 Thank you for your time and effort this is a great video , your way of esplicar toda la receta es excepcional 🎉 !! THANK YOU !!!
I love your channel, the food looks amazing! We unfortunately don't have half of the ingredients here in Sweden but I can tell you, if I ever come to Mexico I would devour the entire country
That's not accurate, you can find nearly everything listed here easily in Sweden, and the few things that you can't (oaxaca cheese, the specific chili powder) you can easily just substitue with similar ingredients.
I'll still make make these but my fave is my Chilean grandma's recipe. She browns onions, adds raisins and olives, hard boiled eggs, garlic, and ground beef. And I'd season the beef before searing it. Love the spices she uses tho. I don't normally season like that since I'm a coconut 🥥 lol. But I am a line cook. also I bake them. So it has that egg wash
Just found your channel and immediately love it! Excellent easy to follow instructions and tips. Love how you make it personable and fun adding your husband. My husband is Mexican and I am looking forward to trying your recipes for my family.
This is the one. I just watched 4-5 of the videos above this and they just don't do the steps right. None of them seasoned or browned the potatoes... just boiled. You added fresh garlic towards the end of the cooking, unlike others that add it at the beginning with the onion and use paste. Also, the simple salsa and plating with cabbage, cheese, and avocado was a win. I'm making this tomorrow.
@@VillaCocina looks great reminds me of a fryed pie. I love the Latin style of cooking loved seeing the home maid tortia keep up the good work I'm just started a subscription to your channel
