They make smaller tortillas. You can use two smaller ones and still have the same effect. Just cut one into shreds but leave the other one the the same size out of the package. This saves both time and makes it easier to ensure perfect roundness.
This tortilla recipe is a lifesaver! Just made it for dinner and my family loved it. So easy to throw together after a busy day, and it tastes amazing! Thanks for sharing such a simple and delicious recipe!
But it's not truly Mexican. They never use Mozzarella - that's Italian. Mexicans use Monterey Jack, cheddar, asadaro, or cotija mostly. The restaurants also use queso blanco but that's just white cheddar with a lot of milk or water added to it. That is not traditional Mexican cheese though in gravy form.
I love how they say 10 minute. Cutting all the veggies, cutting the tortilla, cooking all the ingredients, this would easily take 30-40 minutes if not longer.
Best believe I saw your recipe this morning and went out to get all the ingredients just now to prepare my husband surprise father's day dinner. Thanks all the way from a little island called JAMAICA 🇯🇲
So easy, and foolproof! Thanks for the reminder of how a simple meal can be made quickly, deliciously, and easily. This is very appealing, and can be adjusted with different seasonings or meats or small amounts of (very dry) vegetables, too. Thanks, Helly!
Exactly what I thought after watching the video. She provided the basic instructions and you can do so much more just by changing up the ingredients to your liking. Can't wait to try this and I'm going to use the low-carb tortillas for mine too.
The plate on top is such a great idea, anytime I make a "crunch-wrap" I always have time with those edges, and yet never thought of doing that, haha. Thanks!
@@mitchlewis8260 : Thanks for the advice! I'll remember to put enough cheese along the edge to stick it together. I was worried about trying to flip it over and having all the filling spill out.
A little tip to make it better: as there is already enough tortilla, it is not necessary to chop it up and add it to the mince mixture, it also tastes better and not quite as doughy.
I tried this using a "street taco" size tortilla to fold the larger tortilla around/over. Worked perfectly. I didn't have the tortilla bits in the beef mixture but it saved me from failing to cut a tortilla to size 😂. Super yummy meal. Love this recipe. And a pizza cutter works great if you need to cut it.
I haven't made it yet, but the first thing I thought too, was is all that fancy cutting necessary. I mean just fold the excess over like you did. It's still a great idea I think and the guy at least put up a video he presumably made. If I had a hat, it would be off.
I have to say, I never really cooked anything in my life and i tried this for the first time and got it all right because it was easy to follow. My family loved it. Ty for such an easy and delicous recipe
Espectacular, me quedó riquísima. Una receta más para mi recetario. Aderezar la carne con especias hindúes queda muy bien también. Recomendable al 100%.
A Chinese woman cooking?? Why didn't I know your channel before? I have always admired the Chinese cooking. Not only because it 's thousands of years old, but also because it's really, really. REALLY delicious! I had a Chinese wife, sadly lost her to cancer, but nobody like her!!!. And your cooking really reminds me hers...
Greetings Helly --- looks great ---- and I appreciate that the music is fairly easy to listen but not over powering the kithchen sounds --- love it :) ---- Ann
Nice. It’s a take on a ground beef burrito. Maybe add some taco or Cajun seasoning to kick it up a bit (definitely want to season it with at least S&P). Just sautéing the onions and beef will take 10 mins, so a little truth in advertising would be warranted as well.
"This tortilla recipe looks amazing and so easy to make! 🌯✨ The idea of having a quick, delicious dinner ready in just 10 minutes is perfect for busy days. Thanks, Helly's Simple Recipe, for sharing this simple and tasty option! 😋 #QuickDinner #TortillaRecipe #EasyCooking"
Made this for dinner. Wife and I enjoyed. I used a small bowl over tortilla shell, and sliced around with sharp knife to cut out top piece. Will try again with pork and chicken.
I’d like to see a continuous start to finish video to confirm that it takes way more than 10 minutes. It’s a perfectly fine recipe but no reason to lie.
I mean, typically prep isn't counted when you say "ready in 10 minutes" typically you only count cook time for that. misleading, sure, but if you've cooked, you know most recipes say it that way.
2 mins, frying onion 2 mins, frying the tortilla chips 3 to 5 mins, beef 3 mins, the wrapped tortilla one side 2 to 3 mins, the other side So 12 to 16 mins not counting the prep and times as per the video itself
It’s really not about what YOU want to see…after all the video has been viewed by over a million other users … and clearly Helly’s technique and recipe wins the day. So don’t be splitting hairs. Get over it, make the dish and you’ll be a happier person.
Very good recipe! I do give it my own little spin though by adding some salsa on top of the cheese as well as some italian seasoning while cooking the beef. It's awesome as is still though!
Thanks for sharing this video. I tried this but added taco seasoning to meat and had sour cream and salsa on the side to dip it. Also used mozzarella cheese. It was amazing having again tonight!!
Looks very yummy 😋. I'll be making it but making in a Dash Mini Pie Maker for smaller portion sizes. All the ingredients will, of course, remain the same. I'm guessing it would make 2, maybe 3, individual pies.
Thank you for posting this recipe, and for showing how it’s made step by step. I added 1/3 of a yellow pepper, and replaced the parsley with cilantro, since that’s what I had on hand. My family loved it, even my four year old! We dipped it in sour cream, and my daughter put taco sauce on hers!
Just had to come by and thank you for this recipe. I used green lentils and crushed walnuts instead of the beef as I do not eat meat, and used non dairy mozzarella, but kept everything else the same and was so delighted with it. Hubby and I had it for dinner along with a salad and some left over roasted veg. It took longer to make the salad than it did the tortilla recipe and it was delicious. Thank you for the inspiration! 💚

Quick tip for cutting the tortilla smaller: you can fold the tortilla in half twice and then cut the edges off to save time and help it to stay even
They make smaller tortillas. You can use two smaller ones and still have the same effect. Just cut one into shreds but leave the other one the the same size out of the package. This saves both time and makes it easier to ensure perfect roundness.
Buy smaller tortillas

@@solarismoon3046 I guess you could also go to Taco Bell for the same effect only different too, right?
@@imnitguyOnly thing about Taco bell is you will get mostly low grade beef. Making this at home, you get to choose what quality of beef you prefer.

Bro how slow you cutting them😂
I agree that it takes longer than 10 minutes but 40 minutes ? Dude that's a huge stretch lmao

And when you order take out, no matter how big the order, they say be ready in 10 m minute 😂
For a woman.

Did it and it's great!!
Added cumin and Chilli powder to the beef and it was perfect 🎉
And cilantro, not parsley.

Me, too.
@stormy...that's right...add some personality to the "crunch wrap" creation❗A bit more flavor sounds good to me!!

I'd never thought of it either, and fillings were always spilling out when I tried to flip something. Great idea!
You can legit just flip the tortilla backwards on its unfolded side so that gravity keeps the folds held together
@@stevecarson4162 the cheese on the outer layer will act like glue to the wrap so once the folded side is ready to be flipped it won't fall apart
@@mitchlewis8260 : Thanks for the advice! I'll remember to put enough cheese along the edge to stick it together. I was worried about trying to flip it over and having all the filling spill out.
I used to do something similar to melt cheese on top quicker and the glass plate broke due to heat. Be careful.

I'd have rather seen a tostada used instead of the top tortilla since, well, we are calling this a crunch wrap, right?
Also don't use parmesan, use something meltier
