I feel like what goes hand in hand with owning a accessport for any year wrx/Sti is being able to do accurate data logs, if you are having knock issues that are inconsistent it’ll be really important to do a long log with a couple wot pulls and gear shifts, it’ll help paint a more clear picture for your tuner to decide if inconsistent knock values are just noise or actual knock. It’s not uncommon to see -1.4 to -2.8 feedback when mashing the throttle real hard suddenly, even at 3500 rpm this can happen, then the same knock values can pop up when shifting hard or lifting the throttle abruptly in the middle of a pull. Thus, being able to give your tuner accurate data logs under various different loads will really help understand the car, not every car is the same!
Yes some good tips.. #1 don't drive with A/C our cars hate it #2 they will register .7-1.0 DAM on cobb 93 ots tune. #3 the knock ranges you mentioned are 100% common for these cars from what I've been studying.. Protune is the way to go. Thanks for the video.
Just an FYI with AFRs. The AFR will read 22.20 under decel because no fuel is being used. When at idle or light cruising, the AFR will try to be at 14.7 (stoich). Under WOT, depending on your tune it will read around 11.
@@AutoEnthusiast I have an phatbotti ots with a revision on my 2020 wrx. No power mods for now, just an intake, non cobb, and muffler delete. You're right, they do vary depending on what the tuner wants but should stick close to the above numbers when running pump gas. For instance, I'm a little closer to 10.5 under WOT which is more rich but that's OK since it's an ots map.
@@Qazxswer68 Brian is spot on with that one. They're fairly universal principals that will apply to all tunes both OTS and Protunes. Stoichometric is still my favorite word 😅
I like your review. So you think its safe to run Off the shelf tune from Cobb stage 1 if I just have Exhaust and K&N filter? Or should I get it pro tuned?
Oh I’m running stage 0 at the moment I plan on getting pro tune soon. My fine knock learn is always going off never under WOT but just driving around -1.41 -2.8 - -0.35
I'm kinda freaking now. Just got my first subaru that has a cobb access port. It's a 2015 sti with a cobb intake and Nvidia exhaust. Plugged in the cobb access port and my advance m is reading 0.00 while running. I take it that's bad? The car seems to be running excellent, but I'm brand new to these cars and tunes. I only see a cobb stage 1 tune on there. Should I be worried? I keep seeing people say advance should read 1😬 any info would be greatly appreciated
Reached .035 .075 the highest was 2.80, this happened yesterday and I had my heater on and my seat warmers not sure if that has anything to do with it, that said will try to drive without that on
Shell Vpower. Talk with your tuner, if you are OTS, time to talk to a tuner. You might not have an issue. But if you are fighting to keep your DAM at 1, you have a tune that isn't working with your ride. Your sensor might be reading noise or road vibration, so see if it's repeatable.
I've gotten knock to a 11 if I'm just pulling our of a drive way in first gear or what not. But 99 percent of the time it's at 1.4 to 2.4 . Never had any feed back knock at wot in the 4 years I've had my tune. Just the last year and a half I get cruise knock every now and then. But I tried to get that fixed but a certain tuner emailed me back saying its cruise knock and it will always be there . Which is weird but whatever

Thanks for the video.
Under load with a/c on it may pull a minute amount of power but it does cut the compressor off under load or full throttle.
Defrosters use the ac compressor to regulate the temp
This channel is really becoming a buffet of info. Great content as always.

Monitor a place to buy track pants, thought Ricky had bought a wrx
Come to Phoenix in July and see how your DAM numbers hold up.
when defrost is running it runs the A/C, even if the hvac doesn't say it.
It does say AC on when using defrost.
Good info. Just subscribed 👌
Thanks for the sub!
Brian!!!!! Lol fancy seeing you here

For a carry over yes, long term get a protune!
My DAM always starts at like .688 then goes up to 1.0000 after like 20min of driving is that ok? Iv only had the AP installed for like a couple weeks.
Oh I’m running stage 0 at the moment I plan on getting pro tune soon. My fine knock learn is always going off never under WOT but just driving around -1.41 -2.8 - -0.35
That sounds super low.
This knock numbers are eh, but combined with the dam, maybe go stage 1 and see if it changes?
Correct me if Im wrong but I believe the stage 0 might be a little different and always starts low and works it way up on every start up
Yeah I think you are right, I think stage 0 has a purpose that isn’t necessarily daily driving. I am not as versed on it though.

Great job 👏
Thanks for watching!
I’m running the Cobb big sf stage 1+ with the mishimoto cai and I haven’t seen my dam move from 1.0 once in 2 weeks.
I noticed on my AP it does not have an option that reads 'Boost' just 'Boost extended'. It pretty much reads the same as the values on the MFD.
My Af learning 1 is at 25.00, Is that normal ?

Is it necessary to buy access port?i have a 2017 wrx cvt. I mean do i badly need it? Not planning on upgrades, just stock.
Definitely not necessary! It is a great tool if you plan to tune your ride! It is also a great tool just for monitoring.
@@AutoEnthusiast thank you for answering my questions. Subscribed✔️
Thank you!
What about a feedback knock hitting 11.95
😬
Not good! Bad gas? Is your AC on?
@@AutoEnthusiast I never use my AC. Chevron is the only gas that keeps my DAM at 1.0.

What is normal dynamic avdance learning?

The tuners say to run 91. Gas stations where I'm from don't have 91. Is 93 gonna work?
uh, there are 93 ots tunes. Definitely use 93 with a 93 tune.
What stage should I use for my wrx cvt 2018
I got a cold air intake k&N ? Not sure if is ok 91+
I wouldn't run an intake without tuning for it. No OTS maps to my knowledge exist for just a K&N.
Hello what can I monitor on a cvt wrx 2018
Is feedback knock at 9.80 bad sign?
one time i hit -8.41 but hasn't happened since

My dam just went too 0.750 but I think because I put chevron gas and I was using 76 gas station
Should I try shell?
Yes only run shell vpower imo
