'18 WRX Owner (previously '16 WRX) - The ergonomics of the WRX as a driving tool are essentially unmatched in the now-outgoing model. Literally anyone can get in and drive without feeling overwhelmed with the controls. Styling aside I don't like how heavily Subaru is pushing for massive touch screens in the new model. It's a fantastic passenger space despite its size - on many occasions I've stuffed three other adults in my car for drives and there's been no issue with comfort. Regularly getting 30-ish MPGs even with the performance and AWD capability is very appreciated and cannot be understated especially when gas prices climb. I like the sound of the stock exhaust system especially after it breaks in; doing long drives at speed isn't fatiguing with it, though the stock tires are quite noisy. If I do mod the exhaust in the future I might get an HKS unit for a slight increase in volume, but I'm in no hurry. The paint and panels are soft - the car accumulates chips and small warps/dings with ease, to which I've learned to get over it, lol. If you can get a model with the Recaros I say go for it; the seat base isn't aggressively bolstered, but as a trade off you won't have to worry so much about wear, and getting in and out of the Recaros isn't an issue even for passengers who ride shotgun. The available Harman Kardon is definitely a welcomed upgrade, as the stock audio system is rather flat. I feel Subaru did a great job of splitting the WRX and STI in feel. I like the STI, but I prefer the WRX even with its limitations. The last point is very accurate, at least for me. Probably because I bought the car new and its my first car. I always want to take the car out for a drive and when I'm in it I never want to get out, but the thought of getting a small rock chip on my paint or a door ding is constantly on my mind. Because of that the car barely gets driven. I actually look forward to situations where I'm basically "forced" to drive.
I love most of the Subarus. I have 2021 wrx. I hate few things about it, the halogen headlights, its too low to the ground only about 4.9' of clearance, the clutch is stiff for a daily driving especially if you have knee problems, driving lights and low beams are difficult to get to in order to replace the. Everything else is perfect.
Love the video bro. I agree with everything besides one thing: you said for under $2000 you can get almost 350 horsepower? No. If you add the labor and the parts and the tune stage 3 Grimm speed is $2300 alone, with headers and injectors and some other parts will come up to $6000 or little over $6k to make 370 horsepower or something close to that. Not sure where you got $2000? You might be able to do stage 1 or maybe 2 for $2000 if you do all the labor your self. I think 350-370 horsepower is plenty enough for this little car at least for daily driver.
I made it to where I am with performance mods for $2k plus tune, so yeah if you aren't sitting OTS, then maybe it's a little more. Used parts and my own labor
Yes if u do your own labor maybe you can get away with $2k. But stage 3 alone is $2300 just parts which ads 80 horsepower they claim. So it’s definitely more than $2k
You didn’t really lay out all the cons, missed some key points regarding modding Subarus and having to tune when ever you do, head gaskets, ringlands, the reliability of the motor/etc. just for future reference if you’re going to do one of these videos you should definitely make a list of all the cons not just talk about how much you love a car very cringe in my opinion basically trying to make it seem like owning a Subaru is all great in all but in reality they are not reliable cars and when going into the wrx/sti platform you better be ready to spend a pretty penny to any little modification you do to them and or repairing/rebuilding

Any words of advice? Should I stop caring to be as meticulous as I am right now?
Lmaoo same thing that goes through my head after every fun drive in the snow. The short of it, is its okay to take some time with all the crap on your car and not face issues. With that said, maybe every couple weeks give it a spray down. Either at a self car wash or a no touch car wash with an under sprayer
Don't agree about the negs about the community. A lot of the toxicity comes from the people who are newish to Subaru's, specifically the VA WRX owners. I don't think it's about beliefs in this community, I'm pretty sure no one like to be around someone who just brags about their things being better than others for no reason other than to make themselves feel superior, that's usually just reserved to some members who have that type of personality. Honestly the real Subaru enthusiasts are genuinely some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. If someone received "hate" in this community, it's highly likely that it was because of their own behaviour. We are very accepting people but no one wants to be a around spoiled brats regardless of your age and car you drive.
Pros: it might be the only $30,000 turbo AWD sedan with a manual transmission that is capable of 30+ MPG. Sounds like farm equipment. Cons: cheap paint, cheap interior. You need to spend $650 more on an Accessport for it to not feel like it's constantly tripping over itself. Sounds like farm equipment.
I assume its regarding an intake and JPipe? The answer is only shops that have less experience. The big guys will only touch the parts that they know and trust because its their reputation on the line.
Hey I have. Questions I installed a acessport into my 2020 wrx. With the cobb intake everything works but it says logging data . I'm not sure whats wrong with it.
Shit son my 2019 Wrx was 26.5k before Taxes and now today they’re offering me 27.5k for my Wrx. Will I do it? Fuck no you can’t get a wrx that cheap anymore.

As a man I believe ALL men who want to get into the sport compact or sports car in general genre of vehicles then join forums and make TH-cam videos etc… if your a man and you openly buy a cvt trans sports vehicle. Lmaoo same thing that goes through my head after every fun drive in the snow. The short of it, is its okay to take some time with all the crap on your car and not face issues. With that said, maybe every couple weeks give it a spray down. Either at a self car wash or a no touch car wash with an under sprayer
Whats the mileage and price of the STI you're buying?
Cvt wrx makes people mad? Heck, sounds like my type of car. 🤣
Lmaoo
What STI?
I was wondering if you knew any tune shops in the New England area that would pro tune MAP products. I've been turned down a few time
I assume its regarding an intake and JPipe? The answer is only shops that have less experience. The big guys will only touch the parts that they know and trust because its their reputation on the line.
Try shinji tuning. I know they are in new York and do pretty good tunes.
Hey I have. Questions I installed a acessport into my 2020 wrx. With the cobb intake everything works but it says logging data . I'm not sure whats wrong with it.
are you throwing codes ? if not it’s fine
Typically you have to start a data log manual, maybe something is set to do it on its own. Buzz through your settings.
So why go to the EJ?
To get some experience with the engine and for a new stream of content!
@@AutoEnthusiast Not even because you love the EJ platform??
The p0018 code 😔
I love mine
100% agree
Do you recommend a accentport
100%
What is the accessport for and is it necessary?
Shit son my 2019 Wrx was 26.5k before Taxes and now today they’re offering me 27.5k for my Wrx. Will I do it? Fuck no you can’t get a wrx that cheap anymore.
its a great car untill you get the p0016 code and have to throw the car away lmao.
I got 2 30sec unstoppable ads 😭
Love it!! .....my Girlfriend LOL
Cries like a CVT owner.. lol
Uh
Those have to be the dumbest cons and pros ever.
I agree with everything said EXCEPT the cvt part. I was born and raised around the racing scene. As a man I believe ALL men who want to get into the sport compact or sports car in general genre of vehicles then join forums and make TH-cam videos etc… if your a man and you openly buy a cvt trans sports vehicle. You lost your man card. It’s that simple bro. If your a chick and you have an auto Wrx. It was made for you. It’s ok. Otherwise you deserve to lose your man card and you’ll get it back once you do the right thing.
God your so cool bro. Thanks for making a car your personality lol.
@@zachhenson1536lol you go girl you must have bought a cvt version
@onewisedre does that make you feel better? I'm sure all the high school girls love watching you flick your stick with your snap back and monster can lol.
@@zachhenson1536 you forgot the vape bro... Yeah they love it.
Lot of those modern auto cars will take you to gapplebees,
one of the worst cars ever
