Two of the best things in this movie are every time he “ayayayaya”s with his teeth and when he “charges” his arms up when he goes to run somewhere. Another great thing in this scene is Carrey’s face when they’re searching him, and he eyes the items back and forth with almost no familiarity. What has constantly irritated me ever since that 80's Batman movie came out... and, I mean REALLY irritated me... was the fact that they put Jack Nicholson in the role (who basically just did what Jack does, and played himself, more or less) and put the obvious choice for the Joker (and the LAST person you would ever think to play Batman) Michael Keaton, of all people, in the Batman role. Michael has just come off of, "Beatlejuice" - for gosh sakes !!! BEATLEJUICE - and NOBODY could have played Beatlejuice better than Michael Keaton. He would have made a fantastic Joker !! And, by contrast - a terrible pick for what normally would be a macho-charimso, chisel-featured Batman character. Completely, totally... impossible to ignore this. He had to step aside for Nicholson, perhaps for some unknown reason. I always thought some director or higher-up wanted to dampen Keaton's stellar performance as Beatlejuice. He definitely would have outshone Nicholson, irrepressibly. Absolutely, the most inappropriate casting choice in the history of cinema, in my opinion. Jack, was too old and his persona too mainstream by that point in his career. There was nothing either imaginative, nor charismatic, nor even remotely 'dangerous' about his Joker. Whereas, 'Beatlejuice' would have stolen the SHOW !! (And, this mini-critique is not to hold back Jim Carey's genius, at all - his enigmatic swag was totally happy with stealing Christmas - Haha !!)

Good effects for the 90's
"It wasn't me. It was the one-armed man." Fun fact: Jim Carrey would later star alongside Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever.
Tommy Lee Tones hated him.
@@brightblackgrouse6236 I think he is referring to The Fugitive, that starred Tommy Lee Jones.

That "She is so coy" always gets me with how unintentionally funny it is.
"No it wasn't me, it was the one armed man."
I love the fugitive reference. Harrison Ford was awesome in that film.

A’right, I confess! I did it, ya hear? And I’m glad! Glad, I tell ya! *drops to his knees* What are they going to do to me, Sarge? WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO? 😭

I love The Mask's laugh at 1:29
1:33 Mask: “Kiss me, my dear.”
1:43 Tina: “Sorry, Mask, but as wonderful as our first kiss was, I don’t want to lose ANOTHER pair of shoes.”
4:26 The way he just bolts out of there never ceases to crack me up.
edit: I just realized this year marks 30 years since The Mask was released in theaters.
1:41 I thought it was super effective. Like he really feel pain. Guess I wrong.
Young viewers should learn from this movie how it's like enjoying a clean 90's movie without being exposed to today's overdosed content. This is a perfect example! 🙏👌
He describes some pretty sexually explicit stuff at 1:32, the handjob thru the pocket joke at 3:58 ,not to mention, he implied sleeping with the detectives wife. But yea definitely real "clean". Get off your high horse.

I believe him
This is the closest we've ever got to jim playing the joker
2:55 A reference to the movie "The Fugitive (1993)"
3:20 "Where is the camcorder when you need one?" This is a reference to the 1991 Rodney King event.
"Our love is like a red, red rose... and I am, a little thorny". So cheesy xD but i love it lol
