Jibber and switch, or the wind and rains is cold. Just a couple of my favorites. These guys, Tim Smith in particular, is one of Mike Patton's idols, and no doubt influenced Mr Bungle
This song was also my introduction to Cardiacs and I immediately loved it for its playfulness and frantic sound. I agree with your take on the lyrics btw, there was definitely a criticism of mainstream society in there. Admittedly Cardiacs is not the easiest band to get into at first but man once you do you're in for a treat! If you want to listen to something a little bit more straightforward I'd recommend the track Fiery Gun Hand. Cheers!

I first discovered this band hearing this song at around 3 am one night after having read a blog post about Mulligan and O'Hare.
I would highly reccomend you to search out more Cardiacs.
Reading Timmy's lyrics is an important part of my enjoyment of this band
Last part 'And they who...´is lifted from hymn btw. Timmy liked to borrow pieces of poems and literature.
Also, you need to watch the video to this, that's what I did that night.
