I'm running 40fied brass (light body) + sergeant (weapon, jwlry, helmet) on a sorc. Max mag and stam recovery food for endless rolldodgability :D Caltrops, heavy, crystal weapons, heavy, ward, heavy... repeat. Kills everything in overland, pvp and arenas and Does. Not. Die! Slot a taunt, throw caltrops and you are a legit RND tank :D
rejuvenation is a very weak CP for this build, the free break-free (slippery) is much stronger, so is bloody renewal (1500stamina on kill). Due to the heavy attack (and the destro staff passive), it's next to impossible to run out of magicka (that being said the jewelry would be better off w/ 10 stam regen, too). Soloing stuff like hard modes base dungeons, vet DLCs dungeons, blackrose prison, etc. - the only part that kills is the lack of stamina to dodge/block/break-free. Another part is - due to how off balance works, it's better off switching targets - as the build has off-balance on demand, and the splash damage of the lightning stick applies to everyone nearby but its affected by the main target's offbalance (+armor reduction)
I love your builds Hack! You've been around for many years where You passed the likes like Alcast, Kevduit, Sypher, Gilliamtherogue and Deltia who used to be the main people to go to for any solo builds. One question I have, Are some or many of these builds good enough to challenge a true trifecta for DLC? I find it hard sometimes get in the game when most of my friends are on so I only have 3 Vet DLC dungeons Trifectas besides Spirit Slayer from Vateshran. IT would be nice to know which build you may recommend for potentially doing most DLC true trifectas with out the need of a full team. Would love your response ( I main Sorc but have a toon for each class) Thanks
Not to get off topic from this build this one is certainly in the realm of “basics” fundamentals. Looking at the status effect changes in u41 and the sets released in gold road are most of our “meta builds” over complicated the game? What is the likely hood of using this west Weald sym set and say a crit set. Are we talking all game viable? 40k-50k? I’m low on mats at the moment to test myself.
Hi Hack, is it possible to add a chapter about Scribing (basic hints ho to do it effecftively, how to get more ink, what (not) to do, why you see it as fun/useful/important, etc.) to your Zero-to-Hero (I'm currently a member, too :)) course? Thank you.
Im a new player. Why do i need to have scribe to use this build? Its really necessary? I was reading the guide and could not realize the use of scribe skills. Im asking It cause i dont have Gold Road. Ty!
Hey HackTheMinotaur i have a build request, can you make a Imperial Dragonknight onebar build but have him/her in all heavy armor and uses a two-handed weapon?
I'll probably only do two characters, a Necro and Sorcerer. Is there a list of skills that I definitely need? For instance, I don't THINK I see a need for shield throwing, so I'll give that one a pass.
This build seems really nice, but I think that I messed up something with the Warding Soul, it looks like yours but it rarely shields my character, most of the time it shields other players (not in group) if someone's close. I think I'm going to use it without that. In fact it also looks awful (like all scribing skills) so it's ok. :D Thanks for sharing.
How do you get he damage barrier you have on all the time? I've seen a guy in a BG yesterday having this shield always up, didn't matter what I threw at him, it wouldn't go down.
I hear you. I'm always loath to spend transmute stones & gold mats without knowing the upside potential. Pre-update 41, I did look at a large # of raid-target dummy builds for Oakensoul builds. Highest of a dozen or so was "just over 90k". (Note that I can't personally come very close to that. Yes I use all gold/ideal trait gear, green Max MAG parse food, debuff, pre-load ult, and pre-cast my attack-skills mid-heavy ... but still seem to be missing something). I'd be stunned if anyone could hit the 130k you see in many guides where LA weaving seems to dominate. That said, I plan to try this exactly as spec'd. I think it might add 5 or 10% to my Sergeant/Storm build ... so for me, worth it. One possible change is that I'm looking at the Affix that is "a 70% boost to HA damage" instead of the Vitality affix recommended (but have yet to find it). Not brave enough to guess a #, of course 😊.
@@MrAlby888 A couple thoughts after reflecting a bit. First, I'm no Hack the Minotaur! The clarity and creativity in the builds presented far surpasses anything I could HOPE to do. I watch and learn from every one! So with that firmly in mind, I think there would be a disincentive to showing a 90k-ish parse against a 130k two-bar maniacal-internet weaving parse world. Some customers might potentially "swipe by" without pausing to appreciate the differences. Others (like me) would want to ask why they can't hit that 90k (I've got a few "issues" that I'm aware of, mind you 🥸). And most certainly it's about expectations too. Hack clearly states this is a solo-focussed "durable" build. Cool by me. I've got full sets of my vet Maelstrom & vet DSA gear but have struggled w/final Vateshran boss. I've run vet Sunspire ok (& all trials "below"), but can't do later ones as my laptop is 11yrs old and has no graphics card 🫣. I'm typically Arc 3.5-ish duo w/companion in IA and hoping this might help me to 4. Bottom line I'd be very surprised if anyone using this build "well" was ever frowned on in "95%" of vet trial content. I'd be equally surprised if they were allowed into a trifecta HM score-pushing guild. Just my 2g for consideration. I could be partially right, or even out to lunch! Much thanks and appreciation to Hack regardless!
To obtain pieces from the Sergeant's Mail set, you have to run the Wayrest Sewers dungeon. It's relatively easy to solo on normal, but if that's not feasible for you, see if you can get some friends to help you out with farming it. The Sergeant's Mail lightning staff is super important and probably the longest thing you'll be farming for time-wise in regards to Sergeant's Mail. A big benefit to having friends helping you with farming the Wayrest Sewers dungeon is that each additional person who is running it with you is an additional chance for the Sergeant's Mail lightning staff to drop from the final boss. If they're generous enough, they'll give you their own looted items, potentially including the Sergeant's Mail lightning staff.
