I’ve run a mag sorc for years and my approach was what I thought to be a bit unconventional but made sense in my head .. then I see this video in 2024 and realized how close your build and mine are and now I know I’m not crazy. I've been playing for about six years and only paid any attention to choosing set pieces for 'a build' when i came across your channel a couple of months ago! I became like a hardass god compared to my previous 'life' just by getting 90% of the items to wear. Now i'm going to phase 2 by changing my skills and champion points to what you recommend... If i experience the same sort of increase in powers as with phase 1, i might find myself taking over the universe!
Finally assembled the gear (albeit with imperfect traits etc) to properly build this one and holy smokes I love it, so simple too! I have ADHD and also just dislike two-bar or multi-skill rotations in general so this is an absolute blast to play, I really hope they never nerf Oakensoul or any of the parts that make this build work.
Just recently got back into eso and picked up plus, wasn't too sure where to start tbh since I haven't played in atleast 2 years. Your blood magic build for the night blade is insane though, finally made it through my first vet dungeon. Thanks bro.
Hack, a request or suggestion. The written guide does not contain any mention of the scripts used to construct Wield Soul. Would be nice if the written guide lists the scripts like the video does.
@@pablomacias4924 Okay, so this is a scribed skill. That means that you need to own the Gold Road DLC first of all. Secondly, you need to go do the scribing quest line if you haven't done so already, and at least complete the first segment of it (meaning fully complete the indrik portion of it). I think that this should give you access to scribing sufficiently to do the scribing needed for this build. Once you have gotten that out of the way, you are ready to start putting some skills together. Right away, you get access to the scribing skill, "wield soul." The way you put a skill together at a scribing station is as follows: 1. You pick a skill from the list of scribing skills you've unlocked. 2. You pick a "focus" script from the list of "foci" your character has unlocked thus far. You can keep accumulating focus scripts until you have gotten them all. The focus of a skill is what the main thing it does: heal, taunt, frost damage, poison damage, fire damage, shock damage, etc. 3. Pick a signature script from the list of signature scripts you've unlocked thus far. Think of signature scripts like it's basically a bonus effect for the skill you're creating, specifically it's bonus effect number one. 4. Pick an affix script from the list of affix scripts you've unlocked thus far for your skill. The affix script you choose is basically going to be bonus effect number two.
I finally gave in and made this build so my sorc could actually be good... and omfg I'm converted!!! Only thing I changed was making the legs heavy instead of the chest, and using the light slimecraw shoulders--it was what I already had and didn't want to grind more than I already did for this build. THANK YOUUU!
Wonderful guild, I used this the earlier build to set a PB in the IA. I like the extra damage focus which can be used when things are less chaotic. I would recommend Deadly Strikes over Noblest though. It’s two to four gear bonuses are better. I would switch out Deadly for Alessian (as mentioned) when things get intense.
Hey, HTM. Check out the new West Weald set Tharriker's Strike 5 items: Dealing damage with a fully-charged Heavy Attack grants you Major Berserk for 4 seconds, increasing your damage done by 10%. This effect can occur once every 1 second. Major Berserk gives 10% damage bonus which stacks with the 5% Minor Berserk bonus from Oakensoul and with a Nirnhoned Lightning staff you can do heavy attacks for a sustained 30% damage buff.
i just made that build because it sounded good but dont do it, you lose out on 2k-8k of dps vs noble duelist. dont use deadly or highland sentinel either, not enough dps. stick with noble duelist n sergeant.

Hello! I know I'm kinda late to viewing this, but after looking in-game I have one quick question! In the video, it was mentioned that Storm Atronach shouldn't be used as an ult because of the passive Expert Summoner, however the wording in Expert Summoner passive has been reworded to only change if "permanent" pets are active, so I assume that doesn't count for the Atronach. If this is true, should I still run Elemental Rage or would the Atronach provide more damage? Especially since it's lower cost?
I’ve found that the elemental rage does tons more damage and is an aoe and I’m pretty sure it suns most enemies. Overall huge plus compared to stormy. My opinion though. Other people may have found different results.
Lol, I play an orc sorc with briar set for non stop offense. The constant heal is great. Allows me to completely focus on offense. I usually pair it with a similar set or a sustain set.
I don't know which build/class is the best. I do know that with this build I'm taking on bosses that I couldn't before with greater ease. The damage output is impressive and the survivability (for a mediocre player like myself) is a pleasure. My armour isn't properly specced with traits, I only have 703 champion points, I'm only using the (full) sergeant's set with Oakensoul and this build already feels pretty hard and powerful.
use OW in a pet build with Daedric prey boosting 2 pets and aoe atro ulti. the other 2 skills can be hardened ward if needed, uWall, aoe soul burst scribe, crystal weapon, critical surge, etc. They are flex spots depending on content. Sgt with Relequen hits higher for single target group content. Highland even higher, but you rarely stand still. I run Sgt OW for most daily content. 2bar Sorc 130k, or Arc for cleave, in trials.
Hey Hack, I got a build request because it's been a long time since I've seen anything like this and with spell scribing it seems like something with untapped potential. I am talking about a Nightblade bow build that is all about a run and gun playstyle. There are way too many builds that use the bow as a backbar weapon or are solely gankblades and I feel like more variety would be a nice breath of fresh air
Update: Did some small practical testing as well and it would point towards that without also increasing the spell/weapon damage a lot just for crits, the 1-2000 extra damage per crit (very generously calculated) that usually happens with my current gear is far too little to make any meaningful difference unless Im in like an extremely prolonged fight (like very rarely is a mob dying or not dying from just that little extra, and from my limited testing if things didnt just melt I still had to do the same amount of attacks in the end anyway), in which case Im either going solo (and probably would benefit a lot from the extra RB heal) or Im in a trial, where it would likely just be a speck of water in the ocean compared to the heals I would get from teammates, so in general, running RB instead is likely the best choice, especially from a QoL standpoint, haha. TL;DR: Would Fighting Finesse be used instead of Reaving Blows if Health was of no concern (like imagine a hypothetical "god mode") or does it actually not make that much of a difference when it comes to most solo content because things die quickly anyways? (Again, imagining Health is of no concern at all) and would it be different for say a Trial Boss that has far more Health? EDIT: Did some testing regarding Reaving Blows vs. Fighting Finesse on the Target Skeleton, Argonian (3mil HP) and Target Bone Goliath, Reanimated (6mil HP) and did it in three different ways (3 times each for the 3mil and 2 times each for the 6mil): Rotation was just heavy attacks and reapply Unstable and ElementalSusceptibility inbetween heavy attacks if needed (and only these skills). Fighting Finesse (instead of Reaving Blows): 3mil. 36.5k, 37.1k & 38k. 6mil. 36.8k & 37.6k. FF (but I also entered Critical Surge into the rotation, to kind of simulate getting the extra heal from something else instead): 3mil. 35.9k, 36.1k & 35.9k. 6mil. 37.7k & 36.8k Reaving Blows: 3mil. 36.7k, 35.7 & 36.7k. 6mil 36.2k & 37.4k. (All times where within the second to eachother, at most ~2 seconds). I know that a "k" here and there could add up over time if fighting a trial boss with loads of health (not really planning to), but from this small session of testing I am kind of suprised at how close they are to eachother and only 3 possible reasons come to mind: 1. I am understanding some mechanics wrong or the dummies I used are not an accurate representation of any actual mob. 2. That if there is even an increase, it is not big enough to matter, or at least not for most non-trial content, overworld or otherwise. 3. That the baseline 40% CritChance Im having at the moment (due to non-optimized traits) is FAR too low to actually make an increase to CritDamage matter that much. Im inclined to believe it is a combination of 2 & 3, but would like an expert (or at least second) opinion. Sorry for the nooby wall of text, but help would be appreciated a lot >_

I don't understand how you're getting the 5 piece bonus for Sergeant’s gear when the build on the website only has 4 pieces. You mention a stacking mechanic and I'm assuming that only comes with 5 pieces. Am I missing something?

I've been grinding noble duelist and I have most of the pieces but the Sergeants/slimeclaw is not dropping for me so I will be using order's wrath which I already have until I can get it.
With Patch 43 being Live right now, is Magicka Sorcerer still considered the absolute best/easiest solo PvE class in the game? With the perfect balance of simple, easy, and extremely effective? Or has the Arcanist (Stamina or Magicka) overtaken that throne? I’m seeing a lot of mixed opinions on this.
I just outfitted my alt sorc with this and even with the primary skills (I have to level them to morph) it seems to melt mobs. Impressive! Would this gear be better on my Pet Sorc instead of Necropotence and something else?
I have mine set up to bar swap by long pressing the Y button on my Xbox controller (corresponds to the triangle button on the PlayStation). It was originally left on the d-pad, but that was causing me thumb pain and soreness, and before I knew that I could change it, I contemplated quitting the game. My current controller set-up in the game settings is called "template C" and it was such a relief for me.
I have went through Wayrest Sewers for 5 days straight now and still haven’t gotten the darn Necklace of the Sergeant. Looked to see if anyone was selling it and no luck there either. I honestly don’t know what to do now.
I don't think you can sell items dropped in dungeons. They are bound to the player that picks them up and can only be swapped among the group before leaving the dungeon.
So I've actually been kind of curious, but like, I've seen a lot of videos, much like this one, that talk about builds and the best gear and such, but my question (which I've never really seen answered too often), is just.. Are these builds /fun/? I know these builds are for surviving, or doing good damage or just utterly /obliterating/ bosses and the like. Which these builds are (generally) designed for, which I think is neat! But... nobody ever talks about if these are /fun/ to play, I've noticed.
I just put this exact build together last night, and I can confirm that it's a blast to play. Scribing yourself up the "Shocking Soul" ability is 100% worth it. It hits hard AF, puts breach on your target, and you can spam it on MFs for pretty decent damage. I'm fairly happy with it.
As far as i'm concerned, if you aren't forever being killed, it's fun! I've only equiped myself with half the build and i feel hard as nails! Like i've swapped my Jeep for a tank, taking damage and laughing while shooting shells back at 'em!

You don't need 8h a day to learn how to do rotations and be good at the game. If that's your mindset, stick to normal mode and don't want to aim for 100K. You want to have fun? Then why do you want to be on top in dps? Hypocrite, you use that because you don't know how to use the two bars, end of story.

You need gold road for access to scribing. Completing the first quest (The Second Era of Scribing) will give you access to scribe Wield soul and breach script. For the class mastery script, you'll need complete sigil of indrik and 'A signature with class' achievement. For shock script, you need to complete sigil of the gryphon and buy/loot the shock script (drops from delve dailys, mage guild dailies, and reward for the worthy containers).
I'm using a similar build, but I'm always in doubt about which set to use in conjunction with the sergeant. Some people tell me to use relequen, others say that order's wrath is best, Any thoughts on this?
I don't know about Relequen. But I've just tested this configuration on a dummy with Duelist first and then OW, and found that Duelist provides 15% more DPS. I only tried pure heavy attacks.
shock master is still the best dont care what anyone says at most you lose maybe less then 1% overall dmg going then deadly set and its way easier to get
I've played around with all sorts of stuff and I find sergant, tarnished, and slimcraw go together the best. Especially getting that sundered status effect from TN. Very good and survivable given the med armor. I can swap some skills for survivability and then replace tarnished with warrior poet and I'll get 33400 resistance no problem.
I would love to try this build but I just returned to the game after many years and I've been trying to find ppl to help me lvl because I find the leveling to be very boring and slow in eso solo and queue times are rough but ppl charge 1mil and hour for leveling now which is insane to me
I have followed you for years and used your builds but so many of us do have the F'n rings to make one bar builds! Please make two bar builds as there is a solid strategy to use a two bar build as well. Laziness is not always an option!
Technically you can run whatever you want. I’m literally running a nord and I burn through all pve content with ease. The race’s that he suggests are for maximum damage or magica regain.
HTM - Been using Infinity for months and loving this iteration. Had a question about the efficacy of the scribing Affix script on Shocking Soul. If I'm primarily in a group with a DK Tank that uses "Pierce Armor" for their main taunt, they are getting Major and Minor Breach on anything they physically taunt. I don't think the Major Breach on the Affix is adding very much in these cases, so is there an alternative Affix I can run that will help my group? What would you recommend?
fyi: Grave inevitability is a great alternative to Nobles Dualist, (crit chance, wep damage, crit chance, 20% crit damage after 2 secs on quick easy to maintain stack!) esp when fighting bosses, then switching it out for Alessian for harder solo content such as the latter stages of Infinite Archive, or tanking in group stuff :)

@@Maia5568_ no buddy sorry so eso plus works like it gives you every expansion from the games release it just does not give you the latest one in this case gold coast so you need to wait until the next expansion comes out to get scribing unlocked with gold coast when its added to eso plus
Pretty hard. I was doing this from a very low level and now I’m CP44(still relatively low and new) using level 35 gear because I farmed at a low level and can’t get any more and I usually hit for somewhere around 20k damage.
Yep! I do, I bought it directly from ESO website. To play the game, they have a game launcher that you open after downloading the game (I saved the shortcut to my desktop). Once you open the launcher, you can click 'Play' and it'll launch the game. Ironically, I sometimes wonder if I should've used Steam to access the game, in case of any sales and such. But you don't need Steam to play ESO. Hope that helps!

this is the PTS, something like a test server, in these exclusive to pc servers u get infinite gold, cp and skill points to test out new incoming features and theory craft ur builds.
You can't really. I mean you could just choose not to bar swap, but you'd lack all the buffs that oakensoul gives, so there would be no point. Oakensoul is one of the easiest mythics to get btw. Bit grindy, but you don't have to pvp, or do any 4 man trials.

i would like alternative second set that works on all not just on mobs cause i do visit cyrodiil to sins this is heavy attack build could i go max HP?, this would be overall good in pve and pvp, also hp on gear, as much hp possible unless later when i get oken then this may buff hp to a bit
@@ShadowWizard You could look at the Storm Master set to replace Noble Duelist. It's medium armour unfortunately, so less spell pen and crit iirc. But Seargeants Mail + Storm Master is the original oakensorc build afaik. There might be a better heavy attack build for cyrodiil though, not sure. I don't know what class you play, but if you want to minimise button pushes I think pet sorc is the easiest way to do it. I think you still have to double bar the pets, which means you only have 3 skills left on each bar. You still have to bar swap, but you have less to think about.
Why magicka? Stamina build looks much preferable - you have a stamina pool for dodges. In dungeons, this can be critical. I can't imagine how to solo Dread Cellar 2 boss with its oblivion damage that goes through shields without dodges. In a magicka build, you simply don't have enough stamina for roll-dodge to survive his channeling attack. And damage scales from the maximum resource - so it doesn't matter, magicka or stamina.

I’ve been rocking Nobels and sergeants and oakensoul for a few years now as a solo player.
The Storm Master set allows you to roll better at any distance and has crit bonuses.

Ring of the pale order let's you have 2 bars! It's a hidden tech not known by many

I know that a "k" here and there could add up over time if fighting a trial boss with loads of health (not really planning to), but from this small session of testing I am kind of suprised at how close they are to eachother and only 3 possible reasons come to mind:
1. I am understanding some mechanics wrong or the dummies I used are not an accurate representation of any actual mob.
2. That if there is even an increase, it is not big enough to matter, or at least not for most non-trial content, overworld or otherwise.
3. That the baseline 40% CritChance Im having at the moment (due to non-optimized traits) is FAR too low to actually make an increase to CritDamage matter that much.
Im inclined to believe it is a combination of 2 & 3, but would like an expert (or at least second) opinion.

Ive done a similar build so 1pc slime craw, sergeants and null arca it hits so hard when null arca procs after a heavy attack into comet
I swapped the ultimate out for power overload cos once all the stacks are built up I’m hitting 90k plus for a heavy constantly

I don't understand how you're getting the 5 piece bonus for Sergeant’s gear when the build on the website only has 4 pieces. You mention a stacking mechanic and I'm assuming that only comes with 5 pieces. Am I missing something?

I've been grinding noble duelist and I have most of the pieces but the Sergeants/slimeclaw is not dropping for me so I will be using order's wrath which I already have until I can get it.

I have mine set up to bar swap by long pressing the Y button on my Xbox controller (corresponds to the triangle button on the PlayStation). It was originally left on the d-pad, but that was causing me thumb pain and soreness, and before I knew that I could change it, I contemplated quitting the game. My current controller set-up in the game settings is called "template C" and it was such a relief for me.

I have went through Wayrest Sewers for 5 days straight now and still haven’t gotten the darn Necklace of the Sergeant. Looked to see if anyone was selling it and no luck there either. I honestly don’t know what to do now.
I don't think you can sell items dropped in dungeons. They are bound to the player that picks them up and can only be swapped among the group before leaving the dungeon.
Make sure you add it to your collection log so you don’t get it again

So I've actually been kind of curious, but like,
I've seen a lot of videos, much like this one, that talk about builds and the best gear and such, but my question (which I've never really seen answered too often), is just..
Are these builds /fun/?
I know these builds are for surviving, or doing good damage or just utterly /obliterating/ bosses and the like. Which these builds are (generally) designed for, which I think is neat!
But... nobody ever talks about if these are /fun/ to play, I've noticed.
Personally I don’t play any builds unless they are fun first, so hopefully most of the builds I publish play that way for others too
I just put this exact build together last night, and I can confirm that it's a blast to play. Scribing yourself up the "Shocking Soul" ability is 100% worth it. It hits hard AF, puts breach on your target, and you can spam it on MFs for pretty decent damage. I'm fairly happy with it.
As far as i'm concerned, if you aren't forever being killed, it's fun! I've only equiped myself with half the build and i feel hard as nails! Like i've swapped my Jeep for a tank, taking damage and laughing while shooting shells back at 'em!

You don't need 8h a day to learn how to do rotations and be good at the game. If that's your mindset, stick to normal mode and don't want to aim for 100K. You want to have fun? You need gold road for access to scribing. Completing the first quest (The Second Era of Scribing) will give you access to scribe Wield soul and breach script. For the class mastery script, you'll need complete sigil of indrik and 'A signature with class' achievement. For shock script, you need to complete sigil of the gryphon and buy/loot the shock script (drops from delve dailys, mage guild dailies, and reward for the worthy containers).

I'm using a similar build, but I'm always in doubt about which set to use in conjunction with the sergeant. Some people tell me to use relequen, others say that order's wrath is best, Any thoughts on this?
I don't know about Relequen. But I've just tested this configuration on a dummy with Duelist first and then OW, and found that Duelist provides 15% more DPS. I only tried pure heavy attacks.
shock master is still the best dont care what anyone says at most you lose maybe less then 1% overall dmg going then deadly set and its way easier to get

I've played around with all sorts of stuff and I find sergant, tarnished, and slimcraw go together the best. Especially getting that sundered status effect from TN. Very good and survivable given the med armor. I can swap some skills for survivability and then replace tarnished with warrior poet and I'll get 33400 resistance no problem.
Try sergeant/knight slayer melts in PVP and is decent in pve

You can't use this build and not have pets? I'm not fully 100% with the required items yet and am still using the dino and a companion.
does the shock enchant really set people off balance? I never really noticed it. At least I haven't noticed in pvp.
If it doesn't, casting unstable wall of elements whilst using a lightning staff definitely will.
Use shock enchant on lighting staff and it definitely will.

70k is about what it gets keep in mind it’s a solo build so you can swap a few things around if you want a more damage focused build

I would love to try this build but I just returned to the game after many years and I've been trying to find ppl to help me lvl because I find the leveling to be very boring and slow in eso solo and queue times are rough but ppl charge 1mil and hour for leveling now which is insane to me

I have followed you for years and used your builds but so many of us do have the F'n rings to make one bar builds! Please make two bar builds as there is a solid strategy to use a two bar build as well. Laziness is not always an option!

Technically you can run whatever you want. I’m literally running a nord and I burn through all pve content with ease. The race’s that he suggests are for maximum damage or magica regain.

HTM - Been using Infinity for months and loving this iteration. Had a question about the efficacy of the scribing Affix script on Shocking Soul.
If I'm primarily in a group with a DK Tank that uses "Pierce Armor" for their main taunt, they are getting Major and Minor Breach on anything they physically taunt. I don't think the Major Breach on the Affix is adding very much in these cases, so is there an alternative Affix I can run that will help my group? What would you recommend?

If you slot caltrops that would be a good option.
fyi: Grave inevitability is a great alternative to Nobles Dualist, (crit chance, wep damage, crit chance, 20% crit damage after 2 secs on quick easy to maintain stack!) esp when fighting bosses, then switching it out for Alessian for harder solo content such as the latter stages of Infinite Archive, or tanking in group stuff :)

For that skill you need scribing which comes with the gold road chapter expansion

Pretty hard. I was doing this from a very low level and now I’m CP44(still relatively low and new) using level 35 gear because I farmed at a low level and can’t get any more and I usually hit for somewhere around 20k damage.

Yep! I do, I bought it directly from ESO website. To play the game, they have a game launcher that you open after downloading the game (I saved the shortcut to my desktop). Once you open the launcher, you can click 'Play' and it'll launch the game.
Ironically, I sometimes wonder if I should've used Steam to access the game, in case of any sales and such. But you don't need Steam to play ESO. Hope that helps!

this is the PTS, something like a test server, in these exclusive to pc servers u get infinite gold, cp and skill points to test out new incoming features and theory craft ur builds.

You can't really. I mean you could just choose not to bar swap, but you'd lack all the buffs that oakensoul gives, so there would be no point. Oakensoul is one of the easiest mythics to get btw. Bit grindy, but you don't have to pvp, or do any 4 man trials.

@@ShadowWizard You could look at the Storm Master set to replace Noble Duelist. It's medium armour unfortunately, so less spell pen and crit iirc. But Seargeants Mail + Storm Master is the original oakensorc build afaik. There might be a better heavy attack build for cyrodiil though, not sure.
I don't know what class you play, but if you want to minimise button pushes I think pet sorc is the easiest way to do it. I think you still have to double bar the pets, which means you only have 3 skills left on each bar. You still have to bar swap, but you have less to think about.

Why magicka? Stamina build looks much preferable - you have a stamina pool for dodges. In dungeons, this can be critical. I can't imagine how to solo Dread Cellar 2 boss with its oblivion damage that goes through shields without dodges. In a magicka build, you simply don't have enough stamina for roll-dodge to survive his channeling attack. And damage scales from the maximum resource - so it doesn't matter, magicka or stamina.
You shouldn't be dying with all the healing the sorc kit has
