I'm not religious but I checked out a few religions to see if anything called out to me while I was a teen. I had long since decide that Christianity was not for me as i have issues with the institutions of the catholic and anglican church. I visited a mosque. The people there were very warm and friendly and welcoming. They explained Islam and answered any questions I had. I ended up not going back but I learnt the very important lesson that muslims are not the stereotypes we have created for them.
Technically if you are Muslim you should be Christian seeing as Mohammed copied most of the bible and not only that why did Allah or God decided to show himself around 700 years later to Mohammed?

We have evolved, and with that, I feel religion has evolved too. I personally believe for the better, even if not everyone agrees. I know their are historical texts that will have their rules and demands, but the groups in the world do not have to all agree or confine themselves to those books and scriptures. Once upon a time, animal sacrifice was an important part of Hindu life, Catholic priests weren't celibate and visual depictions of the Prophet Muhammad were part of Islamic art. And some churches in the UK are marrying gay couples. Everyone has a right to label themselves whichever religion they choose, and they also have the right of follow whatever beliefs they want without being a fraud. As long as people do not force their beliefs on to others, they have that right to choose. We should all be embracing our differences... :)

A lot of the religious people can be unaccepting the homosexuals, but you know what? It does say in the Quran that no humans can force another to do or be something they are not willing to. If a person is Muslim, the consequences and choices the person makes, is only between the human and Allah, and no human is born to judge, only Allah is the one to tell what todo to reach paradise (according to what we believe of course) and that is all written in the Quran. The human has the freedom to choose what they want and the human can choose its limits. And I promise, if I see Muslims judging a homosexual, I will try to stop it, because if a Muslim is a true believer, they should mind their own business, instead of telling other people that they are doing wrong. :)

A few months ago I saw a couple Muslim women for the first time (I live in Oregon, not a common thing), and I couldn't help but stare out of curiosity. I'm not religious but I checked out a few religions to see if anything called out to me while I was a teen. I had long since decide that Christianity was not for me as i have issues with the institutions of the catholic and anglican church. I visited a mosque. The people there were very warm and friendly and welcoming. They explained Islam and answered any questions I had. I ended up not going back but I learnt the very important lesson that muslims are not the stereotypes we have created for them.

Phill Bill I can see your point. But I personally don't believe that religion is set in stone and has to be how it has been since the beginning of time. We have evolved, and with that, I feel religion has evolved too. I personally believe for the better, even if not everyone agrees. I know their are historical texts that will have their rules and demands, but the groups in the world do not have to all agree or confine themselves to those books and scriptures.
Once upon a time, animal sacrifice was an important part of Hindu life, Catholic priests weren't celibate and visual depictions of the Prophet Muhammad were part of Islamic art. And some churches in the UK are marrying gay couples. Everyone has a right to label themselves whichever religion they choose, and they also have the right of follow whatever beliefs they want without being a fraud. As long as people do not force their beliefs on to others, they have that right to choose. We should all be embracing our differences... :)

It does say in the Quran that no humans can force another to do or be something they are not willing to.
If a person is Muslim, the consequences and choices the person makes, is only between the human and Allah, and no human is born to judge, only Allah is the one to tell what todo to reach paradise (according to what we believe of course) and that is all written in the Quran.
The human has the freedom to choose what they want and the human can choose its limits.
And I promise, if I see Muslims judging a homosexual, I will try to stop it, because if a Muslim is a true believer, they should mind their own business, instead of telling other people that they are doing wrong. :)
