hi! im looking for an affordable computer and i was between the yoga 9i 2 in 1 and the zenbook 14 flip oled. Which one would you recommend better because there were similar ones in the video but not exactly the same. Im a student and i need a light computer but one that can handle some light/mid 3d modeling and sketching whit the tablet mode. Love your content! Thanks!

Hi Ben! I am a graphic design student (i.e. on a budget :)) on the hunt for a new laptop. I usually work with a lot of layers and use illustrator at the same time as either photoshop or indesign. Is the most important thing to take in to consideration RAM or is something else equally as important? I was recently able to borrow a samsung 3 360 i7 16gb ram and it was not powerful enough to manage all my layers. Do you have any recomendations?
Hi Ben, I think you are confused regarding the Asus Proart studiobook 16. You were discussing the specs of the 2023 model but the build, design and body of the 2022 model. The 2023 model had quite a lot of improvement over the 2022 model. The trackpad was replaced with a haptic touchpad instead of the 3 button one. They added a touchscreen and also added pen support to not just the screen but also the trackpad, so you can use the trackpad like a wacom. They also improved the webcam and speakers. The port placement was also changed with the DC in, RJ45 and HDMI shifted to the back instead of the sides. Overall, the 2023 model was a big improvement over the previous ones
Indeed. I have the pro edition with the RTx ada 3000. It is a nice package but if you push it you get fan noise. So if silence is a priority I think MacBook pros are still king
@@DanielRodriguez-fg5ll I agree, it was by no means the best laptop out there. Along with the fan noise, the second drawback I think could be the battery life of the device. I was just trying to point out the differences between 2022 and 2023 models that Ben seems to have missed

I just bought the Lenovo Legion pro 5i thanks to your videos. I got it for under $2000 completely maxed out with i9 13900HX, 2 TB 32 GB rtx 4070. I think this was such a great deal.

What would you recommend in my case: I am a graphic designer working with a setup of 3 monitors (1 main BenQ monitor 4K, 2 Samsung side monitors FHD for the tool panels, Browser, office programs, etc.). I am working most of the time with the up-to-date versions of the common Adobe CC software like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and the Bridge. The OS needs to be Windows.
Since our IT department would like to replace laptops only every 5 years, I would like to be prepared for future software upgrades, especially since AI is becoming more and more integrated into the Adobe tools. So money really isn't a topic here - I would rather spend 5.000 € or $ for a proper laptop, if it makes me able to work smoothly for the next years.
So, you got any recommendation for me?

I think the chances are slim given Asus already also offers Nvidia RTX ada cards as the Studiobook Pro 16

I personally wonder if your workload needs that kind of M3 sweetnes ? You gotta think about if it is worth the difference. It may be 30-40% percent different, but in real life usage how much does it impact your ability to do things?

Hi, can anyone help a non-tech person to choose the best display panel for photoshop please? I'm using an old HP Omen 17.3inch LCD IPS laptop at the moment but I need to buy a new laptop. The variety of screens is baffling me, I'm quite happy with the IPS LCD one that I have. So there's a lot of LED screens around now, some are QHD some are FHD, I've seen demonstrations on TH-cam of blooming with LED panels which puts me off. I can't afford an OLED anyway. Anyone help please?
When choosing a monitor for Photoshop and other color-critical tasks, aim for one that covers at least 100% of the sRGB color space to ensure accurate standard digital imaging. If your budget allows, also check for high DCI-P3 coverage (97% or higher), as it includes a broader range of colors, enhancing color accuracy and vibrancy.
While the type of screen isn’t as crucial for color accuracy, paying attention to the color gamut is key. Be aware that measurement methods can vary, so evaluating both sRGB and DCI-P3 metrics can give you a more complete picture of the monitor’s performance.
Seems like if you go the PC Laptop way - you can only get like 1.5-2 hour of battery life for video editing. Pretty horrible. 🤔
Won't go the Apple M2-M3 way. Heard about Qualcomm CPU's coming out in the future to fight the M2/M3, yet, who knows if Photoshop/ Davinic / After Effects will support this CPU..? 🤔

I'm new to cameras and a newbie to computers and never owned Apple. I bought a Canon r6 mark ii with a couple lenses and now looking for a laptop to learn photo and video editing. I'm looking at the MacBook pro m2/ m3 pro or max.... can anyone give me advice on if the base m2/m3 Pro will handle this for a couple years or do I jump to the m2/m3 max base model? I want a 14 inch model and under 3000 that will last a couple years of learning editing photos and videos.... thanks all for the help..... THANK YOU!!!!
