- This DCR SR-40 started its life back at the turn of the 21st century where my parents used film my birthdays and lightsaber battles with my dad. Now I use it to record me and my dipshit friends along with crappy skate tricks. Enjoy.

no special processing just think i turned the saturation in the camera setting a bit up, camera was a baby shower gift from grandpa to my dad in like 02 so its just mad old lol
Hey man was wondering if you could tell me how you're able to get your video files off your camcorder and onto your PC. I found this exact model at a thrift store so went ahead and bought a USB cable for it, but for some dumb reason Windows 10 doesn't recognize the camcorder, it just shows up as an unrecognized USB device. Tried connecting it to a computer running XP and no dice there either. Any help is much appreciated!
did it come with the dock? I used windows ten when i edited this video but the cam corder needs it's dock to transfer to the computer i believe. Also i think you need to check the settings and make sure in connections that it will read as a hard drive to your computer, I would check forsure but i no longer have the camera haha good luck!

that was it - got a dock and a normal mini usb cable and was able to use sony's playmemories software to import all my vids/pics

Yo I have the same camera, do you have the original battery or did you buy a replacement? My battery doesn’t work.
Mine is still the original but considering the age it could be smart to get a new one, does it hold a charge at all?
@@BenMatti the original battery didn’t hold a charge, if you get a new one make sure it’s Infolithium, I got a generic replacement that the camera won’t accept

hi do you know if its possible to attach a fisheye to this would really appreciate the help thanks
not any official way unfortunately, just checked to see if there was any mounts at all on the front of the camera and there was nothing. If you are creative you could probably tape one on but there is no official support for a fish eye attachment to this camera unfortunately :(
Hey how did you process this, I have the same camera but nowhere near was beautiful.
no special processing really. make sure your camera is shooting at 480p and i think i might have turned my saturation a smidge up. might be editing software too idk, also 480p looks disgusting on like 4k tvs and anything with high resolution to keep that in mind

@@senpaiyar8656 for this video i used shotcut, which is a free and open-source video editor. Recently I’ve switched to imovie because I feel like I get a bit better performance with it on my mac.
