I'm currently at 14 psi and I'm using a Turbo smart T40 Oil Pressure Regulator is set for 40 psi. In this video I was running too rich and noticed my FPR was set to 60 psi. 🤷 And it should be at 50 psi how I tuned it.
Good info I appreciate that man. I have a r33 gtst rb20 and have been debating on which turbo I wanted to go with and this one seems to hold up as long as you have your setup right. Thanks again
@@ChrisGuthrie Yes, the turbo is still holding up and can't beat the price too. It's a winner in my book. People bashing on the company because it's cheap and it breaks or they hear from others and go along with it. I think it's all on the person and how they drive it. I'm planning to go for more HP in the future but before doing that I'm going to have to upgrade the HG with studs, water pump, timing belt with their GT3538 billet turbine. MXR are coming out with new turbos so I might wait on that.
Those high end turbos they have now don't look too bad. Wish they had more affordable ball bearing options but maybe one day. I think I'm going to give this one a shot. Need to save for a link first, then pulling the trigger on the build. Similar plans as you, get a little more now then shoot for maybe 500 tuned down to about 450. They say anything over 500whp is too much for the chassis to street it and I like to drive mine quite a bit
@@ChrisGuthrie You can't go wrong with MXR RB20/25 bolt on turbo. For your RB20, If you can find a decent condition RB25 turbo and use the RB20 wastegate go with that for now. Nowadays, the OEM RB20/25 turbos are not that great of the condition due by age. I hope everything goes well with your decision.
That’s awesome bro
Thanks.
Maybe I got a dud but mine had terrible fitment issues and leaked coolant
@@datboimiata Is the turbo made for the RB20/25?
Yup threw on my gtst
@@datboimiata still having the coolant leaks?
How much boost? Are you using an oil restrictor?
