So in terms of the cages on the windows, I think they were installed to prevent theft and burglary in the past. Growing up you do hear tales about thieves breaking in through the windows, even if you live on the higher up floors. But I don’t think that happens anymore, which is why you don’t really see them installed on newer buildings. People probably just didn’t bother to remove the old ones.
To correct the statement in the video: China was not defeated by Vietnam, but the Chinese army had almost reached Hanoi, and finally retreated on its own initiative like in the Sino-Indian War, because China did not intend to occupy the capital of other countries.
...a formal request was made by the USSR to cease the advance.... the USSR was the single greatest military power in the world ever, and had done alot for China in the name of the communist revolution... understandably they acquiesced.
why the hell did you lie? china never went to hanoi, they barely moved an inch on the Vietnam border. it's was only Deng's Xiaoping's think this war was pointless so he retreated

I just got back from UK, and I must say I was quite impressed with the ease of travel over there. Custom and border entry at the airport were super smooth, just a scanning of the passport. I didn't even need to talk to anyone. Traveling on trains, buses, the underground, or the ferries was super easy, just a tap of the credit or Apply Pay to pay the fare at the gate. There was certainly no security check. Traffic on the road in London was another story.

India has one thing you don't though.
Democratic freedoms.
@@Icarus07c yes, Indian is an amazing country, cow has more freedoms than women. what's the so-called democracy bring to your life?
@@Icarus07c that what you may think. just think about how does 1% of society own the whole population with the majority of the population living in extreme poverty
@FrankZhang-pj9nn I'm not Indian my dude, I'd just infinitely prefer living in a free country than an authoritarian dictatorship like China. If the CCP wasn't paying you to post this, you could go to jail for using TH-cam.
@@Icarus07cYeah as an American with no perspective on the world we really care about which of two countries you've never been to you'd prefer to live in
awesome video Bald, particularly liked the last bit at 40:40
So in terms of the cages on the windows, I think they were installed to prevent theft and burglary in the past. Growing up you do hear tales about thieves breaking in through the windows, even if you live on the higher up floors. But I don’t think that happens anymore, which is why you don’t really see them installed on newer buildings. People probably just didn’t bother to remove the old ones.
Brilliant, as always. Great to see you somewhere you can be a newbie again, must have been refreshing!
Looking forward to your next vid!.
Another great content from Bald and banknotrupt
I love your honest videos Mr bald. ❤
Bald back at it with the big questions of countries
Questions nobody thought they would ever ask. ‘I wonder if there is a parade of dwarfs?’ 🤭
Spot on. 👍
why the hell did you lie? china never went to hanoi, they barely moved an inch on the Vietnam border. it's was only Deng's Xiaoping's think this war was pointless so he retreated
hahahahaha nice one mr bot
GREAT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!
Greetings from Sweden!
This might be as good as your Russian episodes.
enjoy your trip pal, good luck!
Bald, I just wanted to tell you that I've been watching your videos for years at this point, and despite all the hostility you get for god knows what, I can genuiniely say that your content is among the best on this platform and beyond. The insights you give us into different cultures and that you are willing to say and show things as they really are instead of a media talking point from any perspective is truly worth more than gold. Thank you so much for doing this and I wish you all the best for your future travels!
Mike Okay was in China like week ago, check him ouy, he's also British like Bald :D
CHONGQING 20 years ago and it was foggy/smoggy every day for 2 weeks. Interesting city with many 30+ million, friendly people. I met a couple of English speaking foreigners there who had businesses there also. Thanks for the tour.
The whole show I was waiting for Ben to show up.
5 mins in and i must say, ill be awake later than i thought. Thanks Bald
i was about to go to bed and I did one last refresh and 5 minutes ago you post this.. well.. guess I'm staying up lol
Happy to see you again.
Welcome to China, where world-class infrastructure, unparalleled convenient and fast payment methods, friendly and lovely people, clean and orderly living environment, magnificent mountains and rivers, and various cultures blend together. Enjoy your life in China, my friend
+100 social credit for this message, well done comrade 👍🏻
This was a nother good one Bald Thanks Mate showing us the World
I just got back from UK, and I must say I was quite impressed with the ease of travel over there.
UK is small North Sea island. And backwards
i've been waiting for years for this episode
Visited China and it’s a breath of fresh of fresh from Jamaica. It was the first time I felt relaxed and safe and didn’t have to be constantly switched on for stray bullets or drive by’s
I have traveled around to China Beijing, shanxi, shengzheng, shanghai, fujian, and Yunnan since 2014, and after ten years, i landed on China again. Whats the big differences is the toilet wash room and peoples don't spitting much more.
Such a lovely lady at then end, bless her :)
Hi Bald hope you're keeping well 🍻
Dominating India for sure.
India is nowhere to china, lol
india is not even in the Periphery.
All this guy does is and with his friends he comes to India and he is proud about how India was a colony and wants to praise that, all the while demeaning India.
Well that's British people heritage then why would they not be proud about that.
You can do that even in 2047 when we would have a larger share of the world's economy's compared to other country's.
Feel proud of what you did in the 19th century when what did you achieve now.
The worst area in china is better than the best area in india

No it's not.
Cool video Ben. Hope to see more China content.
That was a very fun, interesting and cool sight from China. Thank you very much, if there is a possiblity to see more - please do!
China would be an interesting arc in your travel diaries! stay well and keep exploring.
Great episode Ben! Back to proper solo travel, with wonderful learning along the way. You are certainly picking up the lingo quickly. Hopefully there will be more episodes to come, especially with the new hottie/seamstress.😉
He must have done an accelerated Chinese course. Hes picking up basic words quite fast.
Lived in China for 5 years but went back to my homecountry because the were not leaving me alone.. Got scary after a while. Knowing someone was in my apartment when i wasn’t there. Got so many to tell but i’ll really hooe they will let you alone Bald ❤
I started following you three years ago, you have been to a lot of communist countries, very special experience, I wonder why you didn't go to China. The day has finally arrived! I hope you can stay there a little longer
Bald gets on train, immediately finds a pretty woman. The talent this man has is amazing.
And not too stiff but he acknowledges it!
there's nothing I've wanted more than this
I will watch it later tonight. Thanks, Bald.
