They both sound so damn good, but with different tones, different emotions. The "base" T50 is a bit tamed, the Niki Lauda is savage like a 333SP or F50 GT1, the Valkyrie has some old V12 LMP vibes (which is awesome in its own way) and the the Huayra R blends everything together like the wildest pipe organ
you have gt1 trackdays even streamed on yt live, i know it's not racing but it is still epic to watch zonda/huayra r's, ferrari xx models, lambo track car, valkyre and all those cars running on track together
03:01 still can‘t believe how they could make the Huayra R sound that high pitched even though it „only“ reaches 9000 RPM. They do both sound marvellous.
In Maisteer's video, he discovered that stepped engine headers are how you get that high pitched sound. Thats why there's such a drastic difference in pitch between these and other engines, despite the RPM. I don't know if the T50s has them - I imagine it does because you can hear that scream at the same octave as the pagani, but its much more subtle. Maybe it has less steps? 🤔
A combination of an even firing order (which the T50 doesn't have due to its 65 degree v-angle) and stepped headers. Either one would be even better with a triple exit, but that's pretty much why the pitch isn't too radically different despite the displacement and rpm delta.
Look up "Mercedes with $12000 exhaust" It's an old S600 that barely revs to 6000 RPM but its sound makes some of the V12 supercars basic by comparison.
T.50S Niki LAUDA HANDS DOWN. It reminds me *EXACTLY* F1 cars during the 80’-90´s, the best era of racing cars that I lived and watched in real life. The Pagani sounds so good but really the GMA is on another planet to me.
I personally think the T.50 V12 engine is more impressive because it’s much smaller and also higher revving than the Pagani. Both sound incredible but the T.50 takes it for me.
The T50s sounds more pure and raw screaamer like, while the Huayra R is like that of a refined classical instrument piece. Both sound characters I really love and it's a hard choice to choose between the two of em
The T.50 headlights bug me. It's like I've seen them before on a Mazda or something. I prefer the Huayra when it's the standard road car, but I feel it loses so many design flourishes and gains too many gaps in the R spec. The T.50 racing spec has always been part of the design brief and I think it shows.
Great video NM2255! I love them both. They’re brutal and explosively brisant. The Pagani has an edge of furious urgency, like it’s about to go supercritical just before redline
T.50 Hands down. In terms of complete super car package in the modern day it also takes my pick too. Especially after seeing what the other manufacturers had showcased recently. ESPECIALLY Ferrari.
I was waiting for this video, I prefer the Huayra R, the sound reminds me of the glorious Ferrari 412 T2, but with half the revs that the Ferrari reached, Pagani did an exquisite acoustic job here
I know you didn't specify but according to the official Pagani's website, the Huayra R exhaust is made from Inconel 625/718 alloy. No idea about the T.50 tho
The high-pitched sound comes from the equal-length headers and the merge of both sides (x-pipe). Titanium just makes the sounds more raspy and metallic (lighter metal, thinner walls).
@@KamoEarlyDev it can't rev to over 12k rpm though, or drive and handle the same though, can it! 😉 T.50 (and T.33) are masterpieces, just like the F1 was. Gordon Murray is a genius 💥
@@KamoEarlyDev i personnaly put the Pagani's at the bottom side of my super/hypercar list. I even wonder what ppl find attractive on the Pagani design to be honest? The T50 on the other hand is true masterpiece, it's what should have done McLaren after the F1 instead of the things they are doing today :s
I suggested this in another video a while back. Bugger me, I still can't decide. Whoever suggested a race series of the both is a genius - in the same vein as the 190E thing / M1 Procar thing please. In these shitty libralist times, be glad these two exist. What a pair. What a noise.
It’s like two flavors of V12 to me. The Huayra R is loud yet smooth, like a ‘sweet’ flavor of V12. The T50 is visceral and raw, like a ‘sour’ flavor. Both amazing in their own right
Br por aqui kkkk. Eu tava esperando muito alguém lançar esse vídeo, eu prefiro o Huayra R, o som lembra a gloriosa Ferrari 412 T2, mas com metade dos giros que a Ferrari alcançava
I can imagine the T.50 is basically Gordon's ultimate wet dream made physical, a seamless combination of his masterpiece F1 and his forbidden art of active ground effect.
The Formula 1 should take this Engine Sounds in a Soundgenerator for the new Powerunit 2026...i like the MB V12 in the Pagani a little bit more, but both are incredible.
I don't really get why people are acting like there's a night and day difference between the two of as if the Huayra doesn't sound raw and violent next to the T50. It's like people don't hear those wicked Pagani downshifts and definitely don't remember the Zonda R, which is every bit as brutal and angry sounding as the T50. In fact, I'd say that the T50 stands in here for the Zonda R's "naked brutality" role perfectly. So different in r refinement? A bit. But one being hands down better than the other? No. And whomever called the Huayra "one tone" should visit an ENT sooner than later because he's gone tone deaf.
I still play "The New York Race" in the Crew 2 several times a week and use my T.50 99% of the time. As much as I absolutely love that car and the sound, the sound actually does get annoying after a while. That race is 30 minutes long. After a couple months, it just started feeling like someone was screaming into my ears. Lol
I think the Pagani sounds better. Thr T.50, whether the road car or the T.50S , actually sounds too perfect. It has such a smooth engine note that you can’t hear each individual revolution of the engine (that’s heard as a bassy undertone) like you can in the Pagani. I will say, you can hear some of it coming from the intake of the T50, but not from the exhaust.
Both are epic. Love them both. But that T50 sounds more a tad bit more refined, smoother. Just a tad. Both equally glorious and sounds levels better than F1 has produced in the past 2 decades. Would love to see both of these in the Hypercar class in Le Mans.

Pagani sounds like a perfect musical instrument while T50 is just pure V12 madness.
