I notice that the left-hand sill was in one piece but the right-hand one was in two pieces with a joint in the middle. Is there a maximum length of sill available in one piece? Being picky, it looks better without the central joint, but maybe a long sill in one piece would break or crack when lifted.
What mix did you use there? Does the sandstone sills need a lime based mortar? Great job as always 👍

As a Norwegian you have to know how to lay tiles and bricks before you can become a "certified" mason, wondering if this is the same in England.

Ever tried putting sand stone sills on a solid wall property which has been retrofitted with external wall insulation?
Great job Stu, really enjoy the vids. No criticism to you at all as it's not your house, but I have to wonder why the client went to the expense of fitting sandstone cills and then spec'd PVCu windows to finish them off? Especially in white, my god!!! Haha! Some nice oak frames with double glazed bronze Crittles would have looked way better IMO.

Can it be done where you keep the original windows and install the sandstone window sills and then reinstall the original windows? Mine are already upto date double glazed
How much did this end up costing the customer out of interest? I’m looking at buying a bungalow with very similar window and would like a price for the cills and windows please. Based in Preston

I couldn't see a drip groove in the bottom of that sill. Does it have one?

Should of left the bay windows in, now it looks flat and boring anyone who thinks it looks better cuz its got stone cills at the bottom are telling u bumkin.
