Hi, We only work in Ottawa, Ontario but I’d love to visit TN some day.
Usually a job like this would cost $1000 CDN

How did a 4 inch piece of natural stone fit in the same spot as a 3 1/4 brick?

The brick was closer to 3 3/4”, oftentimes they are laid on a large mortar joint eg, 3/4” so the 4 inch limestone sill will fit with a smaller mortar joint. Typically the brickwork will also not be super tight to the window frame so we often have a little bit more room between the sill and window frame. We always lock up the stone tight to the window frame to prevent any water infiltration if the caulking ever fails

There should have been a wall flashing up under the window and over the existing brick with an end dam that the sill fit into.

Agreed. I would’ve used a solid copper pan up under the window and over that limestone still with vertical damns (just as you suggested) up the walls a few inches on each end…
Also no masonry ties to the wood framing members or at last the sheathing??

This is a good video, but please note that the music simply does not seem right here.

@@danbloom5441 in USD currency, can you give me a rough estimate of how long it would take a professional sill installer to replace 8 window sills made of regular bricks with limestone sills? Also, the cost of materials. THank you so much.
