External Window Film Installation

Here is a time laps video showing the correct cleaning method and installation of external window film. The windows and frames had been cleaned when the old film was removed. The film used here is Solar Silver 35 external. The edge sealing has been left off the video.

I remember yrs ago I was installing for Sunmasters outta Dallas Tx. We got the job at DFW airport , huge job. Out in the Texas wind n dust they was a few days I was so frustrated they was a few CREASES that day! 🤘

That was a 25% single reflective film, mainly for privacy.

Do the egdes need to be sealed with anything? I desperately need to install tint on the exterior of my windows to stop the direct summer sunlight from coming in. Any suggestions for product?

@@simonlea-armstrongplastiwr7458 thanks for replying. Do you have a film other than 3M prestige that you can recommend for keeping the heat from sunlight out of the house without losing too much passing light? The 3M stuff seems impossible to get and is insanely expensive.

@@iveneverdonethisbefore8390 Opalux and Johnson Window Films both do spectrally selective films. Nano ceramic is the next best in terms of heat reduction performance versus vlt
