Great work, nice to watch father and son working so well together.Good music as well. You are both very good at what you do.Very conscientious and great craftsmanship.👍
Glad I found your video. I'm closing in one section of a three part window and carved out the short bricks. I know now how to fill in the brick properly.
Just bumped into this video after I have finished resizing 3 windows in my house, but this video shows I took the right approach doing this. I had a messy looking side wall with windows in different heights and shapes put in every time a new extension was made before I bought the house, but having to replace my aged window frames I decided to make everything look more uniform and bring window sills and lintels to the same height and windows the same width were a first floor window was right above a level floor window. Does look a lot better, just as the new window in the video, I don't like the look of these slot ventilators at the top of the window, it makes a house so 1960-70's (worst period in building design).
Hi stu, been checking out your videos for tips, I’m a plasterer by trade, but also do block work on jobs, keep up the good work mate, very tidy brickie, mesmerising watching you videos, and inspired to do some of my own plastering clips, there isn’t many on here.. thanks man 🖖🏻
If you get a tight brick I use a clip joint , that’s where you shave a few mill off the end of a brick using your trowels edge and a brick on edge as a guide, you end up with a false perp joint but it looks normal
Great work as usual only 1 question though if that window had to be taken back out fir any reason (I know lokely won't but....) wouldn't it be a pain as the fixings on one side are from the opposite direction so csnt be unscrewed from window side ? Just curious ....in no way undermining your work as ive seen lots of great work you do (I'm a bricky btw) cheers keep them coming
Enjoyed the videos. There house is being gutted and they bought a cheap door. Don't understand it myself but there you go. Cracking work stu hope kc enjoys his golf and a pint🍺🍺🍺🍺👍👍👍👍
Nice Job Stu, but not a good idea to screw wall ties to the window frame, if you need to take the window out half the wall comes with it, screw window frame to wall after.
made a nice job of bricking but awful widow fitting, should have screwed cill on from underneath before fitting and those window tags makes it a real pain to get the window out in the future when it needs changing/replacing, should wit until brickwork set and then fixed in a standard manner screwing/fixing through the frame 150mm from corners and using packers to get it perfectly square and to also for expansion and contraction of frame
+1 for saving that bumblebee.
Whats the diference between just bee and bumble bee?!

Looking at getting something similar done, can I ask what this roughly costed from start to finish?
Great videos :)
Subscribed for saving the bee :)
Another good video keep them coming
Stu buddy your work looks brilliant. Do you have any good contacts for builders down in Hampshire??
What's a good drill bit for removing the old grout holding the brick? Just a regular masonry drill bit?
Yeah I need this done at my garage which is made out of blocks not bricks can this still be done????
Great video stu keep up the great work best bricklayer on TH-cam mate

Hi Stu, what does a job like this cost a customer? just looking for a ball park figure.
Thanks!
Great work I wish I can build how you build keep up with the good work I enjoy your program very much thank you for little tip
Good job 👍
Just a quick question do we require planning permission to reduce window size ?
Hi friend how would you put mastic onto a outside wall o. House need to do mine.. Hope you can help.... Pete
Hi Stu how did you fix the cavity closer?
The 4 inch blocks inside; not concrete? Styrofoam?
What type of brick did you use on the inside?
Nice mate looks good
Does this require planning permission?
Great job Team Crompton! I reckon you like your music Stu. I like your choices - how about putting the music into the Info header?
Matt Cartwright I've been liking the tunes, makes the video.
That kc seems like a right shirker
Do you work in Surrey?
You laid all bricks in one go?
Hi Stu, what sort of cavity closer have you used here? Thanks
Hi stu what did you charge to do these two windows ?
What about when the next bloke comes along to change the windows? will be cursing you for those ties haha
well i will be changing them so i will know :)
stu crompton not really you might not be working in 10 years , you should have come back put fixing from inside later
Do you ever plum the reveil on the brickwork?😟
No because if you plum the window then just work to the the window you brickwork is plumb 👍
I just came here for the guitar solo 😂
Good work
GOOOOOD
IRAQ BAGDAD
good work save the bezzzzz :-)
i hate when you get a long brick in nova scotia the same pallet can range from 185 mm to 200 makes bonding a pain
Excelent boss
Always amazing to watch you work. What are the blocks that you were cutting with a hand saw?
Nice Job Stu, but not a good idea to screw wall ties to the window frame, if you need to take the window out half the wall comes with it, screw window frame to wall after.
Can’t do that because the mortar takes weeks to go off properly, if it needs to come out in time a good fitter checks for clips like this 👍
應該用海綿沾水,將切痕灰削搽乾淨,會更完美。
謝謝
made a nice job of bricking but awful widow fitting, should have screwed cill on from underneath before fitting and those window tags makes it a real pain to get the window out in the future when it needs changing/replacing, should wit until brickwork set and then fixed in a standard manner screwing/fixing through the frame 150mm from corners and using packers to get it perfectly square and to also for expansion and contraction of frame
