- Luke from ClassicCars TV gets hands-on with the all-wheel drive 2024 Honda Ridgeline TrailSport. With its polarizing unibody design and all-terrain tires, the Ridgeline Trailsport plays the role of an extra-cab El Camino that has trouble keeping the dirt from under its fingernails. Powering this vehicle is a 3.5-liter VTEC V6 engine, good for 280 horsepower and decent fuel efficiency yet capable of towing two classic Civic Si hatchbacks. While its MSRP of $44,980 may seem steep, the Ridgeline TrailSport's high feature content, car-like steering, and practical storage solutions make it a worthy contender in the world of unibody trucks.

I have this exact model and color and just did a road trip and it was great on the highway, 270 miles 70-80 mph and I got 27.7 mpg, I could never get that in my Tacoma.
Is it a suv with a pickup bed yes but it’s perfect for what I need.
The most underlooked truck on the market.
The box is 60"w (widest in class) x 64" long (a bit longer than other mid sized short box) x 17" deep (shallowest in class). Where did you get 40" x 70"?
When you’re talking about the “off-roadiness”, you mention the tires and oil pan cover. So is the trail sport not setup with an off road suspension? I feel like that should be one of the main features on anything intended to be used off smooth/paved surfaces.
Yes, the shocks are better for off road but unfortunately, they did not increase the ground clearance (c'mon Honda, just 1 or 2 more inches!).
Looks like a Matchbox toy - not rugged looking at all ...
If you need a truck to define your masculinity, then the problem is not the truck…
@@ivandragomiloff2356 Has nothing to do with masculinity, first generation looked better, IMHO ... 2024 model looks cheap and not very capable for offroading ...
@@tapper701 Ninety percent of “Truck” buyers, never truly use the truck for is intended purpose or push its capabilities. Most buyers are doing it for show. What Honda with the Ridgeline, Ford with the Maverick, to a lesser extent Hyundai’s Santa Cruz, have done, is made more practical Trucks, that serve the majority of people. These trucks are convenient, non gas guzzling, more practical machines, that are good family cars, can tow small boats/jet skis/quads etc, make runs to Lowes and other hardware stores/nurseries, and grab a bunch of groceries.
Most people don’t need half ton full sized trucks.
@@tapper701 Again, it’s not made as complete off-road truck. 90 percent of people that drive trucks, are not using them for their capabilities. They do it show off.
@@ivandragomiloff2356 Understood, so in my book, not worth the price of admi$$ion ...
