Honda's only pickup, the Ridgeline, continues to take on its more traditional midsize truck rivals with a combination of rugged capability and car-like comfort. Now deep into its second generation, the Ridgeline is the only midsize pickup with unibody construction and an independent rear suspension, which it shares with the Honda Passport SUV. Plus, every Ridgeline has a roomy four-door crew cab with all-wheel drive and a powerful V6 engine. All of the other midsize pickups, including the Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Jeep Gladiator, and Ford Ranger feature a traditional body-on-frame construction with a solid-axle rear end. As a result, they offer more off-road capability and towing capacity than the Ridgeline, but the Honda is more refined and comfortable on the road, with the ride, handling, and cabin space of a crossover. For many buyers, that's a worthwhile tradeoff, and more automakers are picking up on the trend. Though they're smaller than the Ridgeline, the recently introduced Hyundai Santa Cruz and Ford Maverick are also crossover-based pickups that trade capability for comfort. The Honda Ridgeline's updates for this year include an off-road TrailSport trim, refreshed exterior features, enhanced interior storage, and upgraded technology.

@Blue-moon12 yes, I was deciding for a 2023 tacoma vs 2023 ridgeline during that time. It all comes down to preference.
I don't do any crazy rock climbing and off roading. I needed a mid size for family activities and ridgeline nails it. The interior is comfortable and spacious for my kids plus storage under rear seats. I installed a tonneau cover which gives it more protected storage plus truck bed storage itself.
And it's a AWD system with comfortable ride quality. I needed a truck bed for my kayaks so this is the best midsize truck for me.

The only thing this ridgeline trailsport is missing is a 2in lift. then I think it would be a perfect daily.

I own a 23 RTL. I love everything about it, except how much room you lose with child seats. My 1 year olds car seat is behind the passenger seat right now and it really forces that front passenger seat to sit close to the dashboard.
I test drove one a few years ago in 2019 (a 2017 MY), really like the ride quality. If I didn't have a boat I would have absolutely bought one. I ended up with an F-150 (2017 MY) as the GCVWR requirements I had exceeded what the Ridgeline had on the spec sheet and well within what the F-150 had. I have no doubt that It could have handled it fine; however I didn't want to be put in a position of knowingly exceeding the stated capabilities should I get in to an accident and have to deal with any legal or insurance ramifications as a result. I ended up dumping the F-150 when COVID used vehicle values went through the roof, essentially making money on the vehicle and went with a Armada for increased passenger capacity and towing, along with a utility trailer for truck bed uses.

I'd like to see them give the Trailsport trim a little more ground clearance like they did with the Pilot. Curious if they're holding off until it gets the same updates in a couple of years.

The 2024 Honda Ridgeline's only engine option is a 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 backed by a nine-speed automatic transmission. Whoops, did I misquote the HP?
