Now that you say that, that’s absolutely insane because a couple years ago I went to a 3 day music festival and we walked all day long every day and when I got back home I had ZERO back pain and felt amazing compared to terrible back problems I had before I went…
At a normal paced walk, 4k steps is about 30 minutes. Do that first thing in the morning and then again after dinner, before sunset...and you've hit 8k. Very doable. Sometimes I'll swap one of the walks for a 30 min growwithjo video. Good to get outdoors at least once a day though.

10,000 steps seven days a week is about 10.5 hours of activity. Of course you're burning more calories compared to 3 hours of being on an exercise bike!
You're not supposed to do it in one go. These are 8k steps accumulated through the entire day. Poeple on average do around 3-4k just going about thier daily lives.
8k is about an hour for me. I think the trick is to break it up so it's not as overwhelming. 30 mins in the morning and 30 mins in the evening, 4k steps each. Listen to music, an audiobook, or just people watch and listen to nature sounds.
14,000 steps average when I lived in the city. Commuting and walking everywhere plus dog walks and afew workouts a week. I moved to the suburbs and I have to make a huge effort to reach that! I can usually reach 10,000. But I the difference is evident. Im heavier and my energy and sleep quality is not great 😢
It depends on what "does it matter" mean to you. Are you doing it to improve overall health, weight loss, rehab, etc.? For the most part, it doesn't matter as long as you're consistent in reaching your step counts per day. Some will find that a small walk before and after meals helps aid digestion, glucose spikes, improve insulin resistance, lipid absorption, etc. Some will find doing it in one go, especially at a faster pace walk, helps improve cardiovascular function and aid towards more intense exercises down the line. Choose what's best for you and slow work your way there

@@TheDinosaur82 It sounds similar to when there was this whole “vegetarians are healthier, therefore meat is unhealthy” silliness a few years back. There were a few “studies” done that seemed to support that idea… until it was looked into with even a little bit of thoroughness. What came out was that oftentimes the switch to a vegetarian was done as a part of a general change in intentionality in regards to health for those individuals. In a nutshell, it had nothing to do with meat. It had to do with the fact that they went from eating Big Macs and soda to eating intentionally and mindfully and often began exercising more as well, because it was a general shift in mindset toward their health as a whole that drove the whole process. Roughly 10k steps is 8km/5miles.
Solid for the average person.

no, its only about the total and your preferences

how many hours a day is 12k & 10k i lost my watch 😂
7k is about an hour
What if you have heel pain?
Would recommend some of the exercises from kneesovertoes guy: walking backwards, tib raises, leaning calf raises, atg split squats.
Also look at your shoes
push thru.
Walking backwards is great. Just try small steps and pause every 10 minutes. I've had to alter patterns also
