The best value in emulation is to pick up one of those GTX 900 or 1000 era mini/set-top PCs. For $200-300 you'll run CIRCLES around even the BEST of the modern "mini PCs" and Android emulation boxes. I honestly think this market has stagnated just like the Pandora jungle, and it'll probably be at least 3-5 years before we see something that will offer meaningful improvements beyond the PS2/Dreamcast/Gamecube era.
Following your test, I took a pandora box 10th wifi for 75euro (the one that works with the guns). I'm super happy with this box, 5200 games even if there are duplicates, it's really great. I built 2 6-button arcade stick controllers and to play the old game, frankly I haven't found anything better. With my family we have fun like in the good old days. thank you for all your advice.
Your channel has saved me a lot of money and taught me much. But I always wondered how you can afford this, maybe making a video about the economics of the packages from China would be interesting. My latest thing is those insanely big HDDs on my gaming PC.
The Little Arm boxes are asking prices for the more 'powerfull' ones above the cheaper laptops and even minipc's. I had hope for the RK3588S based ones, but it takes way to long for them to come even down a bit in price. Raspberry Pi5 also isn't delivering enough for the premium price it has (as a complete system), but that least that one has some kind of support and different os-es to choose from. The way I see it : If I have to configure it myself because performance is an issue I go for a normal PC and so I'm only interested in miniboxes or pcs with a really cheap price but still has more power than the aging ShieldTV . Wouldn't a great one if a completely configured and cased RK3588S based box with android 12 and 8 Gb would be like 80 euro's! That would open my wallet. For me playing consoles up to PS2 and Gamecube would be enough because I still dont consider PS3 'abandonware'

If you're hardcore, the best route to go is just buy modded consoles rather than game boxes, that way you're not emulating, you're running the real hardware and don't have to buy the games which have all become overpriced. But if you're doing that, then the biggest obstacle if acquiring a good quality CRT, which are becoming very rare since CRTs haven't been manufactured for about 15 years.
The End of this Era is the Pi 5 with batocera 39. It ends all these devices. I owned the Super Console Cube X and X3 and sold them. If you use a Pi 5, don't use a Standard USB-Stick for your data, use a SSD-USB Stick, otherwise you'll get stutters from Hell.

I'm assuming that you figured out the controller issue. The only game that I've tried on PS2 so far is Need For Speed Most Wanted and yes it dropped to about 49fps at times but it was still playable. I didn't have high hopes for that game because I knew that it was hard to emulate. I have a long, busy weekend, so I probably won't be able to try any games until Tuesday. I'm sure the resolution can be turned down some in the settings so that the games can run faster. Try doing that. Good luck.
