First of all, I really appreciate your video. More power to you. I am now on the 5th week of post ACL Reconstruction and Meniscectomy of my left knee. If u don't mind, I got three questions: 1. My knee is still swollen (if I give it a rating, 6/10). Is it normal? I went back to work after the third week post surgery using crutches. I had knee braces and stopped wearing it after the third week. 2. I still can't fully extend my knee. Can you please enlighten me about knee extension post ACL surgery. 3. I can only bend/flex my knee for 65 degrees. More than that, it's painful. Is this normal even if I'm on the 5th week of post surgery? It would be very helpful and I would really appreciate your expert opinion regarding my predicament. Thank you.
RiddleMeThat 1. It's been three months. The swelling is still there but just a little bit. 2. Still can't fully extend my knee. 3. I'm on 85 degrees flex now. Thank u for ur reply.
You need to do hamstring stretches and work on that extension -- that is the most important aspect right away. Are you doing physical therapy because honestly it sounds like you aren't.
RiddleMeThat I have physical therapy twice or thrice a week. I'm doing the CPM everytime for 1 hour per session. It's not enough, isn't it? My problem is the knee extension, really.
What is the CPM? Did you have your surgery here in America? Physical therapy 3x a week is enough if you're doing the right things. You need to schedule and appointment with your ortho. I can't believe the physical therapist hasn't brought this to your attention. By the way, I am not a Dr. so all this advice can be taken with a grain of salt.

1) Yes, swelling is normal at that stage.
2) No, you should have more extension.
3) You should be at least 90 degrees by now.
