I would have liked to have seen the helicopter shoot down the thrown rental van with a missile, and continue to hover menacingly, gearing up for the next shot. Only then should it be brought down with a smaller chunk of supersonic concrete. Loved the A-10s in this. Not so easily ignored or dismissed.
...the only unrealistic thing: Those A-10s got there awfully fast...they top out at ~350kt. How'd they, and the Little Birds, get to the middle of Kansas in time for a fight? On the other hand..McConnell AFB is close by. And there dwelleth the mighty B-1B, which can most definitely bust the numbers on the deck..
The fight scene actually gave justice to “grounding” flight well as they gave justice in showing the gravitas for a seemingly low-gravity scene. Every attempts of Superman to fly was constantly hampered by the kryptonian soldiers by making him grounded to have a more devastating impact than just flying and punching. Fight while flying trope is easily undermined as there is no sense of direction and impact with only punches if you are above but they did a fantastic job to really make it feel as if they are hurt in this scene by limiting one’s capability of flying itself.
I absolutely loved the big guy "Nam-ek", how he catches superman mid flight like "YOU'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!" and when superman punches him into a whole bunch of trains, Nam-ek throws a cart thats on fire right back at him.

It was simply a different approach to the comic book movie in a cinema world where every comic book movie was established to be a safe non risky, partial comedy popcorn ride for the whole family to see, say "best marvel movie yet" and get excited for the next safe and samey movie but then forget about what they just saw afterwards. Wash, rinse and repeat. Man of Steel dared to bring up questions like "How would the real world react to a Superman? Would they REALLY welcome him in open arms treating him like a messiah figure in a post 9/11 world? would villains with supermans abilities really 'care to step outside' to fight superman so buildings wouldn't get destroyed?" etc.

yea people were really, really critical of these movies. I thought they were much more interesting than like, Black Panther or Captain Marvel. Honestly, notice how there's no comedies anymore? I think the MCU kind of took the place of comedies, it's why the point of every scene in them is the joke or tension 1-liner.

I would have liked to have seen the helicopter shoot down the thrown rental van with a missile, and continue to hover menacingly, gearing up for the next shot. Only then should it be brought down with a smaller chunk of supersonic concrete. Loved the A-10s in this. Not so easily ignored or dismissed.

The fight scene actually gave justice to “grounding” flight well as they gave justice in showing the gravitas for a seemingly low-gravity scene.
Every attempts of Superman to fly was constantly hampered by the kryptonian soldiers by making him grounded to have a more devastating impact than just flying and punching.
Fight while flying trope is easily undermined as there is no sense of direction and impact with only punches if you are above but they did a fantastic job to really make it feel as if they are hurt in this scene by limiting one’s capability of flying itself.
I absolutely loved the big guy "Nam-ek", how he catches superman mid flight like "YOU'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!" and when superman punches him into a whole bunch of trains, Nam-ek throws a cart thats on fire right back at him.

It was simply a different approach to the comic book movie in a cinema world where every comic book movie was established to be a safe non risky, partial comedy popcorn ride for the whole family to see, say "best marvel movie yet" and get excited for the next safe and samey movie but then forget about what they just saw afterwards. Wash, rinse and repeat. Man of Steel dared to bring up questions like "How would the real world react to a Superman? Would they REALLY welcome him in open arms treating him like a messiah figure in a post 9/11 world? would villains with supermans abilities really 'care to step outside' to fight superman so buildings wouldn't get destroyed?" etc.

It’s crazy not only seeing three kryptonians can do this amount of destruction but also, Kal El (Clark) having no battle experience was able to put an incredible fight against two well trained kryptonians specifically made to be warriors and come out as the victor!
because Kal had been absorbing Earth’s Sun radition, for almost 33 years, if Zod’s team could adaptive to live on Earth about one month, i think they will break Kal easily, especialy Zod, even he’s more older than Kal. He was designed to be Strongest warrior of Krypton and have became a General when he was still young.
