@@dannyx498 they are different ages, different eras, different moments in movie making history, the Christopher Reeve , s Superman is the classic one of the 70,s and 80, s comics . Chris Reeve portrayed perfectly the Silver Age Superman in the same way Steve Reeves did for the golden age era of 40 , s and 50, s . And Henry Cavill is the perfect Superman of today. More realistic , no "mock in cheek ". Today an evil Superman would be real evil , something that was imposible in 1983 . But for me without any doubt, Christopher Reeve was the perfect and the best comic Superman .

what's really amazing and same time not entirely explain was if this scene was just an illusion and everything happened inside the mind.of Superman or did it actually happen physically.

From what I heard, this fight was entirely in Kal's head. When superpowered Kryptonians struggle with themselves, they LITERALLY struggle with themselves, I've heard. Another actor had to be brought in to give a better visual aid for the fight going on in his mind.

This scene saved the movie. I’ve come to understand that Superman was hallucinating in this sequence. Clark was never really there. I wish someone would digitally remove Clark because I think it would be really neat to see Superman fighting no one. It would certainly be a lot scarier.

I've always thought of this scene and other moments in Superman lore (some scenes in Smallville, Man of Steel) as Kal-Els self diagnostic spychie. Here he splits to set himself straight, in Smallville season 10 in self doubt, in MoS, the same (seeing Johnathon Kent,) I'm sure there are inherent examples I comics that could demonstrate an otherwise nonmentuoned power of his.

This scene was definitely the best thing about Superman 3, it really showed how highly versatile and how much range Christopher Reeve had as an actor, the way he was able to make the Clark Kent and Superman personas feel like two completely different people was incredible even though it was the same guy. I just wished that they expanded this concept and made it as an entire movie because this was so epic, to watch Superman go completely nuts and fight himself was perfectly executed. 39 years later and this still gives me super chills.

The color scheme of his 'dark' side suit fits the color of what they did to him in the reboots of the 2000's. Oh how they lost that color and how we lost faith in the joys of our childhood memories of this great 1st movie. I am saddened by what they've done to Superman in the later years of his movies. The only saving grace of the Superman franchise was Smallville and now...Superman & Lois.
