AoT has a beautiful way of making you feel a character's death impact long after they are gone thanks to the way Isayama weaves it narratively. For example, I still can't get over Marco's death due to the affect it has had on Reiner, Annie, & Bertholdt.
I'm sad that Petra rarely comes up. I really liked her character a lot, even if she was only there for a short time, along with the rest of the Levi squad
I have a personal connection with Sasha, as she is my favorite AoT character and I still haven't gotten over her final fate. I have a friend that reminds me a lot of her and she had a near-death experience, something I didn't know until after it had already happened. When I finally saw Sasha die in the anime, I completely broke down, because I didn't see Sasha, I saw my IRL friend. She's doing really well, but I still worry about her and others, because I'm just that anxious and nervous about losing my loved ones. Thanks for this video and I can't wait for the next one!
Marlo for sure got a raw deal. I wish his character had made it further into the series, if not to the end. For being such a short lived character, he was quickly becoming one of my favorites. Same with Hannes, though the second he told Mikasa and Armen that he was joining them on the mission to rescue Eren it was obvious he was borrowed time.
I feel like youre meant to hate Gabbi when she shoots Sasha and then learn that she is Erens counterpart as the story progresses, and although both those viewpoints are contradictory its about the viewer learning to understand the perspective of both sides which I think is great writing.

Her redemption wasn't really a redemption, and the consequences as this video points out, are all temporary, she loses literally nothing. Falco survives being a titan, and they get married, her family in Marley/Liberio survives the Rumbling, and Sashas family end up forgiving her. Armin, Mikasa, Jean, or Connie don't ever mention Sasha again either, so Gabi pretty much gets a happily ever after with Falco. Her only "redemption" is finally figuring out that "shockingly" the nation of Marley, whom have oppresed Eldians for 100 years have brainwashed her, thats her eurika moment.

If I'm right, then Hajime finally got what he wanted in season 4, my point is, Sasha was going to die because thats what Hajime wanted, and honestly I was surprised he waited until season 4 honestly.
I did find her annoying, but with killing Sasha, they were the ones attacking a populated civilian sector. Gabi's at least allowed to fight back. Come on.

I personally hate Gaby's character mostly for the fact that she reminds me too much of Arya Stark. Like yeah, tomboy girl that randomly pops out of nowhere to magically throw a grenade under a tank and save the day, and then she has this perfect accuracy and shots this soldier to steal his ODM gear. Later shooting Eren in the last minute just like Arya randomly kills the Night King. Yeaaah, I wonder if they will later teleport her into Liberio or something...

I never hated Gabi, I always just felt so sad for her. Even as she was filled with hate and xenophobia, even as she killed Sasha, I couldn't get mad at her, just so sad that we as a species are capable of such great cognitive abilities, yet still choose to indoctrinate children with hatred and use them as political tools. Every single time I saw her character, I thought of real world kids who've been forced into an extremist ideology that they can't truly fathom. One has a right to be angry, but to genuinely hate a character who represents something like that makes no sense to me... I believe it when you say people in the fandom do hate her tho.
Personally, I adapt quite well to the vision of the authors, especially with the vision of Hajime Isayama, who I really like, what I really want to say is that through the death of the characters I felt much more pleasure, and I did not feel that the characters died because the author didn't forget them either

While I can admit that Gabi's character development is arguably one of, if not THE best in the series so far, to me, she was just an all around unlikable character, and even after reading the manga, to this day, I still wish Jean would've smoked her on the airship after she shot Sasha.
Attack on Titan definitely does a great job making characters life and death a fascinating story. A good example of foreshadowing and using flashbacks to reveal critical information was the demise and death of the Smiling Titan and later learning about Dina Fritz.
Does anyone else think that if Sasha met Gabi in the paths that she would forgive her without hesitation and may even go so far as to actually thank her? I feel like if Sasha saw herself from Gabi’s perspective she would’ve realized how far she had strayed from the way her father had raised her.
