In this video we’re about to explore the evidence behind how Attack on Titan could have a NEW anime original ending,. The idea behind "AOE" is that there are multiple timelines in AOT, with the manga and anime timeline's having significant differences already.

Ok so the core of this theory relies on there being at least four separate timelines, which are the original timeline; the manga timeline, the Lost Girls timeline and finally the aot anime timeline. In order to explain how all these universes are connected, we first need to examine to the source of all living matter, also known as the weird creature living inside Eren’s spine. During episode 19 of the final season, Eren experienced visions not just from his past and future, but also from actual alternate timelines that exist in the multiverse. For example, this glimpse of goth Mikasa and nerdy Armin is from a completely different reality, in which the main characters attend a modern day high school. For Goth Mikasa to appear in Eren’s memories in both episode 19 and manga, it proves beyond any doubt that the source of all living matter is connected to the multiverse.
This connection is precisely what makes an anime original ending possible, with Mikasa being the trigger that causes new universes to created. Way back in 2013 a visual novel called Lost girls introduced us to the idea of multiple realities in Attack on Titan and since then it’s been adapted into a comic version and an anime version. Seemingly whenever Eren dies, Mikasa’s emotions become so intense that the source of all living matter manifests a new reality. In these realities the chracaters have a chance to try things differently and on occasion they remember fleeting memories from their alternate selves. This could explain why Mikasa has suffered from headaches for a long time, since the pain could be a side effect of her memories being viewed by alternate versions of herself and alternate versions of Ymir. As crazy as this all might sound at first, we need to remember that Mikasa is part of a genetically modified bloodline, who were only created thanks to titan science. An Ackermans relationship with the founding titan is therefore very different from any other type of eldian, and as we’ve seen, they’re able to tap into its potential in a way that no one else can. Just like how Eren was able to use paths to bend reality in his own way, Mikasa’ has unknowingly been doing the same by creating new timelines. In every new reality she tries her best to prevent him from dying but in the end it always happens one way or another, cause like they said in Lost Girls, Eren is inextricably linked with death (Eren’s destiny is to die).
Moving on, now that we’ve established that the multiverse is a thing, it’s time break down how the four main realities are connected. Starting with the original timeline, as the name suggests this was the very first timeline to exist, and in it Mikasa confessed her true feelings. One important thing you need to remember is that during the trip to Liberio Eren was seriously doubting whether he wanted to go through with the rumbling. That’s why he decided to ask Mikasa why she cares about him, because depending on her response, he was willing to give up on his plan to destroy the world. In this original timeline she gave him the answer he wanted by telling him how she really felt and following that they run away together to live out his remaining years in peace. This dramatic scene was shown in chapter 138 of the manga and the two of them went on to have a quiet life up in the marlyean mountains. The house they were living in was presumably built by the Attack Titan and for the next four years it seemed like most of their days were spent either relaxing, fishing, or collecting wood. Gradually though time came when the curse of Ymir began to destroy Eren’s body, which is what happens to every titan shifter once they’ve had the power for too long. Knowing that his death was unavoidable he made Mikasa promise to move on after he dies and it’s why she doesn’t cry when he eventually passes away. - บันเทิง

Fate Series, Rewrite Series, BlazBlue series, Clanned After Story and Neon Genesis Evangelion. This is from memory of shows i watched over the years because i like that theme of connected timelines told over mediums like TV, movies, manga, games, books.

@@billyred889 Each series tells a story with multiple endings but eventually find a "true" ending because all ending were connected in a way that the protagonist found a way to find happiness. That in essence makes each "different" ending cannon. New watchers might just think they're not related but as a long time fan, i can see the connection and themes that carry across the mediums.

So what, that mean he MUST love her back(just because he is main male character?). Nope. For 100+ chapters they have never have a romantic BOTH-sided scene. Until chapter 138 it was one sided relationship.

What wrong with Eren\Micasa relationship? Well, it completly break Mikasa's plotline and her development as a character. Her whole character arc was to grow up from Eren slave until the point where she could break free from Eren and start her new life without him. Isayma should made Mikasa a Hizure princess for some reason (because he could easily avoid this without ruin the plot). In actual manga this plotline fell in abyss just because and Mikasa end up being Eren's slave for her whole life...like fucking Hatico. How fix this failuer? Here comes Hizur plotline! Hizur should become a new start for Mikasa(mayby with Jaun)

What about Historia...Well, in manga we though her role would be important and her child would made a huge influence in overall plot, but...Historia became a huge dissapoiment. Her character is ruined, her plotline dump into trush and mean nothing...This was a disaster - why you even write a plotline, focusing us on certan moment if in the end it mean nothing?!

What hinder on Eren\ Historia relationship? Well, start from begining:

1)During uprising arc, Eren build a huge respect to Historia as a strong will person. You can see it from s3 ep11. In many way's they are both simular, share the same responsibility, doubts and will power to reach their goals(while Mikasa play to be Eren's mommy). Historia is the one who save Eren from lowest moment in his life and so did he few years later. That's why Historia was the only person aside Floch, to whom Eren reveal his real plan. Because they can understand each other. Couple of greatest villians in human history. Selfish people who lives for themselfs. Historia is the one who save Eren from lowest moment in his life.

2)Next we saw a huge consern wich Eren show toward Historia. He hide critical information about way to use Founding titan from Military even after he get memories from future. His confession come only after Elena hinds about this method. But even then Eren stand up against Hizuru plan and was the only one who protect Histroria(wich make cry).

Whole Eren plan is wrap around Historia: why Eren create Yegerist and plot the Uprising?! Zaclay goverment was very effective in it rule and you have no need in bunch of fanatic nazi lunatic militarist in empty world where no enemies left alive. Especioly if it cost grave danger to start a civil war inside Paradis. Eren could easily start Rumbling without any of this happen. He could done this in Liberio during his meating with Zeak. All this Festivall circus and Yegerist uprising was not nesesery at all! One and only Eren achivment here is Fall of Zacley Goverment. I have only one logical reason for this - that would save Historia from using her as non-stop babymaker. In this case, almost religion zelots Yeagerist with Loyal Floch, serve as FORCE to protect History from anyone who want use her to get Founding Titan Power in future after Eren death

This show us how important Historia is for Eren. You can lable this a general consern for close friend, BUT during manga a lot of his friends suffer from his actions - find themselfs in grave danger, get injured (Levi, Falco), or even end up dead (Sasha, Hangi). Eren hurt his friends A LOT, so he could achive his goal, so WHY HISTORIA IS SO IMPORTANT FOR EREN IF HE PUT HER AS FAR FROM ANY KIND OF DANGER, AS POSSIBLE?!

3)About Historia pregnency - Isayma always keep some mistery around her pregnancy. Time and time again hinder us that we have some spicy stuff happend around her. Why her pregnence perfectly much up with Eren departure to Marley? I mean if it was only for sake of the plan to keep Zeak alive, Historia could became pregnant several months later without any difference in terms of plan(it would gave Zeak and Eren more time instead). And Isayama as writer would never write something like this if this does not matter at all. Historia get pregnant from random dude she barelly knew? What!? And if so - why tease us with doubs of Military Police and Eren\Historia scene? What the point in any of this?

Answer is simple.This plotline is connect with Historia development in Uprising arc. In that arc, Historia became a person that live for herself, shape her own destiny and never again she would try become conviniant to other people desires. By cruel unavoidble circamstance she forced to became pregnant (if not by her own wish, then threw brute force = rape). This is her lowest point like Eren had in the cave, where she nearlysubmit herself "for greater good"(exactly like Eren with his "Eat me Historia and save humanity!"). And like last time Historia save Eren from himself, Eren now do reverse to her.

So how in this situation, when pregnecy is inevitble, Histtoria can stay true to herself? How from writer standpoint you can develop your character to new highground instead of complletly ruin it's previos grow?Easy. This should be HER OWN choice to make child with man she truly love( or at least choose). Can this man be a random nameless armer guy she barely knew from her childhood? I doubt so. On other hand you, have man wich was ready to sacrificy Paradise safety to put you out any kind of possible danger...

4)Never get this whole Mikasa\Ymir connection. For me this was the plot put out the ass and force to us as viewer. On other hand - Historia and Ymir...Simular fate, similar fucking name(Krista), similar circanstanse (force to born children ). Alpha and Omega (First and last royal blood). Like fake Ymir open eys for Historia, Historia threw her example could teach Ymir how to live for herself without any of Stolgolm bulshit sindrom from Ymir end

If they were to do AOE, I just want them to flesh out the original ending a bit more. For example, give characters a little bit more closure and let everyone know what happens to each character. Also, explain the Ackerman powers. I’d be satisfied with that. I fear if they try to do an AOE with no direction, it could end up worse than the original ending, which I don’t think anyone wants.

This makes a lot of sense now that all the facts are laid out in front of me. I really do hope that you are right, not only because it would be really nice but also because I would be able to live in peace knowing that AOT wasn’t spoiled for me and playing along with a theory seems really fun.
When someone who was talking abt the manga ending without any spoiler warning spoiled the ending for me i was pissed but now i just hope this theory is true and i won't be anymore. But i won't be man either way i guess cuz the animated version of the rest of the show is gonna be epic
This theory makes no sense because of multiple elements which are totally forgotten in this theory :
- The dream Eren had in the very first episode is different because Wit wanted this scene to be frightening, without having any influence on the story. As it was said in 2013, the show was at best in the Uprising Arc, so there was nothing like an alternate timeline at that time.
- Eren isn't the father of Historia's child. He always only had Mikasa in his mind, he will never change how he sees her, even less for Historia. Plus, he was in Marley when he got pregnant, and depiste men bragging about their "sword's" size, it will never be long enough to cross the sea. The toys you see in his vision from the future are featured in season 4, if i remember correctly they're Xsaver son's toys.
- The Goth Mikasa, Nerd Armin and hot spring boys are just some fan service, even in the manga. So it is safe to assume it is the same in the anime.

There are 2 possible scenarios: Either Isayama has been planning aoe for a very very long time or all these connections and hints dropped throughout the series were just pure coincidence, the first option just sounds much more likely to me

Strong evidence is goth mikasa and armin are animated. We thought they were manga easter eggs, and now we know isayama works closely with mappa. That directly confirms that multi verse is real. Also the mikasa "dream" was tagged as prologue to chap 1.

I really do the believe that there's multiple timelines, I think Eren is aware of the timelines, in the last episode of Part 2 Eren says "Everything has happened according to his will" this is a huge difference from the Manga as he says in the Manga he says "Every was set in stone"

It is canon. The scene where Eren and Mikasa live the rest of their days until he dies is part of both the ending of the series and the very first chapter, at least in the manga. Since the anime changed Eren's dream from the cabin to random memories, it could turn out in the anime there are no separate timeline. Then again, Mikasa's headaches are supposedly related to this power.

Isayama stated AOT is basically Muv Luv Alternative and in that game the MC, that Eren is based on, is also stuck in a time loop. In the game he fails and 80% of humanity dies(sound similar) then in the next timeline, the MC lives and saves humanity but he sacrifices his friends in order to win. He even has a daughter with a woman who has royal blood.....sound similar
It very likely Eren could have more than one love interest because in Muv Luv the MC had different love interests where it effects the story based on who he chooses to be with

I have an addition to explain how the titan powers vanish. Ymir sees Eren as her saviour and using the powers of the founder reincarnates as Historias baby. Historia would name her Ymir after her lost love and after the battle and rumbling ends baby Ymir is told "you are free" like the last panel and now she is out of paths no new Titans can be built.
I see that happening as mikasa still chops eren's head off and ymir sees that but the difference is by combining the attack titan and founding titan eren brought the consciousness of his young self to his head inside the final titan to lead the rumbling (that's why we see child eren in paths and in chapter 131)
Essentially tricking ymir, mikasa still killed eren but just a different version (after he dies he just wakes up shocked at the beginning of the anime) and the real eren regenerating his body in shiganshina by using the method reiner used to move his consciousness away from his brain as he heals.
Then the whole ymir reincarnation and continuation of the rumbling happens.
Also the rumbling essentially having 2 rounds can be a reference to him saying "fight...fight" and hanje pointing out that it means he has 2 fights

And it takes "plot armor" moments that only happened once (reiner moving his consciousness and the Warhammer titans cable) and gives them actual plot relevance not just "I need to think of a way to save this character at this specific moment"

I just wish he'd have patience to write a different ending to the anima considering how popular it is and how much money it makes. One can only hope 🥲

AND EVEN AFTER THAT, THE WORLD STILL WANTED TO KILL ALL ELDIANS. They didn't care that Eldians were the ones who saved them. They still continued to hate them lol. After reading the manga, at the very end when Mikasa killed eren and then kissed him hits really hard.
And then his chat with Armin is revealed where he didn't actually want Mikasa to be with anyone else, it hurts even more.

The only thing thats certain here is that the Hallucigenia came out of Erens head wich is the Top. Then we see the walls and lightning and the next thing we see is Eren already half complete with his transformation. Not a single thing indicating that his transformation went from down to top. In Fact the only single Indicator we have (hallucigenia) indicates the Opposite.

We literally dont see the actual transformation or anything that indicates that what you claim is actually correct. The only indicator we have of how the transformation went was the Hallucgenia and that came out of Erens head...wich is the opposite of Down if you didnt know. Other then that we see lightning and the walls but no transformation. The next thing we see is Erens Skull and parts of his Body and how he goes up into the Air. Still no indication that the Transformation happend from down to top.
So for your claim to make sense, Erens Body would have to be alive and then somehow connect to his head ? Even tho we see his Head is the Part of the Body thats alive.

Very very well thought theory, I just truly think the anime is only expanding upon things by showing more and not trying to change things; only enhance.
There is one glaring issue regarding Eren being Historia's baby daddy that literally everyone ignores but shoots the entire thing to the bottom of the Ocean: Timing.
If we are to assume that the Scouts were in Marley for a year before Eren stomps on Willy, that means he would have to have gotten back to Paradis in secret and knocked Historia up and then gotten back to Marley _and enlisted in their military_ all within three months.
Logistically speaking, that is impossible. He would need a ship to go to Paradis, which will never happen, and then he needs a ship to get back, which will also never happen, meaning he would need the Azumabito's help, meaning they were complicit in his Rumbling Plan, which is frankly so high over the shark we might as well be flying.
And before anyone talks about his flashback talks with Historia and Floch, that happened _before_ the expedition to Marley, not after. If he made the decision after the fact, why is he so insistant on now likening himself to Reiner?
It simply makes more sense that he is no one's baby daddy (sorry Mikasa) and that his decision to flatten the Earth was based on a childish desire to be able to do whatever he wants. A Peter Pan situation.... only in this case, Peter Pan can turn into a giant eldritch horror to get what he wants.
A *more* glaring and funnier issue: The mechanics of doing the deed. Whenever Eren and Historia touch each other, even slightly, one or both of them get a rush of memories from past lives. If they were to attempt coitus, they'd get to experience 2000 years worth of memories of everyone who happened to have either the Attack Titan, the Founding Titan, or happen to be royalty.

@@ailius1520 thats partly what supports my shipping of them. They have to touch to gain further knowledge. If I knew that and there were enemies outside the island it would be internationally needed just for greater information access. They start with hands and move forward and more memories form through touch as they bond. This never happens sadly but was my theory back when we were waiting for print.

The source for this is Commander Pyxis - when he interogates Yelena about when she met Eren (which occurred just before the left) he says how she did so after the railroad opening celebration ten months prior. The timeline just doesn't match up for Eren to be the father.

I don’t see Eren killing his friends to that and I think it’s out of character. If we do get an AOE I hope it’s how you explained it.

There is no alternate time line. The scene in the woods was eren pulling her to the paths and showed her what their life would´ve been if she confesed, similar to what he did to Armin later on. Similar to what Zeke did to him. There is only one timeline. Even Eren himself says this to Armin at the end; no matter what he tried, the result always remained the same. This video came out after the manga ending, so I feel you didn´t quite understand it.

It's not that I don't like the AOT ending. I simply think the AOE makes more sense and is a better ending. I also don't think an AOE is a retcon but rather was always intentional if it happens.
They'd need an extra episode or something to explain all the time line stuff or a decent number of people will be livid and screaming it's a retcon. I think if AOE is real, it'd be smart to be like "no, go back and watch/read these things. It'll make more sense"

This makes so much sense, it's wild how you can piece this all together. I truly wonder what's going to happen. I absolutely LOVE the idea of multiple time lines, especially considering the differences in chapter 1 and episode 1. Let's hope its true to some degree!
I before chapters 133-139 were published, I did think that Eren was remotely controling the founding Titan from Paradis Island. Then when the Rumbling was stopped due to Levi killing Zeke, he would emerge and meet Historia's baby, carry him and resume the Rumbling with the final panel being him carrying the baby and telling him "You are now free."
To use the founding Titan you Need: someone with the Founder + a Royal Blood person Who has 1 of the 9 Titans

I don't think the cabin timeline is as simple as Mikasa giving a different answer to his question, there would definitely have to be other differences that make him value Mikasa alot more so that he would run away with her, since in the manga/anime we know that he told Historia he already decided to go through with the rumbling before he went to Marley, and it seems incredibly unlikely that he would say that if it wasn't true. He would have no reason to lie to her about that

Alot of fans really disapprove multi verse theory when the evidence is all over the place and the moment the series used time shenanigans theme, multi verse is almost certain because those are always correlated to each other.
The most convincing facts that yams had something different planned for me is the warhammer titan and it's specific power existing, and Historia giving birth at the same time as zeke dying.
If not for another ending (whether only planned and discarded or planned to be adapted muv luv style in the anime) what is the point of these things existing in the story? Why not just give the warhammer the hardening power instead of the tether. Where in the manga story was it used besides from the one time we saw Lara use it? Same for Historia giving birth at the time of zekes death: why is it relevant to show it at that time? If it represents a theme of death and rebirth, or the people of Paradis being saved by Eren's sacrifice, why not show it at the moment of Eren's death instead? That would be a much more striking contrast in my opinion.
In addition, a lot of authors have two things in mind when writing a story, the beginning and the end. Filling in the gaps is much more workable than having to retcon everything on the go while weaving consistent themes into the plot.
In conclusion, it would be wasteful to have created these plotpoints without there being a use for them. I hope they prove to be very useful.
Honestly, full committal to the rumbling would make more sense than partial omnicide if he really wants to protect his ppl from retaliation and he has loop memories.

I'd like to see that Eren is basically Ymir's final and yet first creation. It just didn't come into fruition until the end.
How else would Attack Titan be so far removed from the rest of the Titans. How they function outside of the royal authority despite Ymir having complete obedience to them.
Even more so with the true power of Attack Titan being able to transcend time and interact with any Attack Titan much like how Eren influenced Grisha and how he did the same to Ymir.
This Ymir is still the little girl rather than the adult one. Meaning that she already knew what was going to happen way before she was The King's concubine.
This also meant that Eren can even manipulate himself. A future Eren showing him what the future will be like and as to why he would be getting glimpses of the future and influencing his drive to push on forward.
Whether or not Eren is Ymir's creation to avenge her or Eren's OWN creation (even starting with Ymir from way in the past) is another issue. A bit like the whole "egg vs chicken" brain teaser.

Hey turtle quirk, after rewatching aot til part three of the final season comes out, I noticed in the first episode of season 4 falco says that he had a dream where he was flying threw the sky fighting titans with a couple of swords in his hands (two) so I belive this was a reference to the scout regiment. But if that is true, how was he able to see that? I think it has something to do with the paths connecting every Eldian.But that can’t be possible because the island eldians had no clue about the paths realm. You're right. They literally introduced that ability for Reiner once and then never used it again. It felt like such a waste when it could have been used in a really cool way in the ending.

Ever since I found out about The Curse Of Ymir, by watching the anime, I was hoping that Eren would have at least 1 kid before he died even if he didn't get married. Originally with Mikasa.
But sadly that that didn't happen in the Manga.
With a AOE that is possible again. Though now I'm a much more open minded person and Eren doesn't has to have kid(s) with Mikasa. Am very much open to him ending up with someone else.
It'd be ideal if Eren could somehow escape/undo The Curse Of Ymir. That way he can have a long life with whichever woman he end's up with and could marry her.
If indeed Eren is still ultimately bound by The Curse Of Ymir then it'd be nice for him to settle down with someone and have at least 1 kid while he enjoy's what time he has left.
If a AOE does happen then I'm more likely to love it if Eren has a family of his own.

AOT manga ending and AOE both have its pros and cons
A mixture between these 2 storylines will deliver the perfect ending
Lets talk about some pros of both the stories
1. Manga ending keeps Eren's character intanct and doesnt just show him as a homocidal madman who cares about people close to him
2. AOE revives Armin's character in the most perfect way
3. AOE also gives historia a crucial role in season 4

1. AOE more or less feels like a chad eren glorification
2.manga ending doesnt do justice to Armin's character who has being groomed to take erwin' position
3. Manga ending sidelines historia like nothing
The anime ending should basically eren's wish whilst keeping his original character intact amd also give the 3 main characters of the show equal importance

So AOE is Area of Effect usually in reference to damage dealt semi-passively in a certain radial vicinity around the player character. AOE builds are great for quick clearing lower level content for speed farming currency.

In manga Eren sees the previous timeline in his dream but in anime he sees the future, not manga timeline... How is it possible?
Why did mikasa answer differently in the 2and timeline? Cause eren asked her first and she got embarrassed?
Why didn't mikasa create a new timeline in Trost arc after Eren's "death"? All the things happening in ova were her imagination, not a new timeline. Because she couldn't touch eren? If it's true, how did he see the destroyed paradis?
I Won't hope for an AOE cause that would hurt more, but please flesh out the last chapter a bit more especially Eren and Armin's conversation in path. That would make me more than happy.
in my opinion fleshing out the end would be more then enough. Heck, the additional pages Isayama added a couple of months later actually made me think "you know what, its actually a "good" ending".
It was all in line with the themes of the Show. Cycle of Violence going on, but its still worth fighting for a brief moment of Peace. Life is cruel but also beautiful and while Humans act in Contradictory ways at times, you can still find good and bad in every single human.
I dont think the ending makes no senseat all. People usually crying over the End for banal reasons like "i dont like the comedy at the end" or "Eren loving Mikasa is just forced on the viewer"... while then acting like its totally plausible for Eren to bang Historia and ignore everything that makes this utterly ridicoulus (like the time issue, or how they share memories if they touch each other, or how Eren would "prefer" Historia because that would somehow be "true freedom" ignoring the Fact that its proven to us that Mikasa loves Eren out of Free Will)

You still got a story but the protagonists actions didn't change anything. If the protagonist doesn't achieve anything why am I watching his journey? And no him destroying 80% of the world doesn't count because it doesn't change anything for the people of Paradis.
The thing that makes me question this theory is the fact that it would only feel like a good ending if the viewer is familiar with the manga and the OVA's. Otherwise they will need to judge the ending of the anime on its own. Quite frankly, any ending where eren survives and gets to live a life of freedom would be horrible and a violation of the themes in my opinion. Even with the added context of the manga I still think the themes would be violated. I think the best way forward is to make the same ending with maybe some minor changes to improve some parts of it
Exactly with making eren ,Armin and Mikasa last moments peaceful and satisfactory with eren, so that eren could die peacefully, giving their talking more time. As we can't deny the fact the eren had suffered his whole life and he had rights to know mikasas true feeling for her. I just want that in last moments eren and Mikasa should spell their heart out.
Actually we need to understand the burden of eren here. From the kid he saw his people dying for saving eren himself, which wasn't erens self wish. He owed his life to lost soldiers of Paradis island who sacrificed themselves for saving eren. And hence he had right and clear goal to make their sacrifices meaningfull he had to do anything even if he loses his freedom forever. Also in this whole series isyama never made eren the hero and showing only his good side. But he saw him as a practical human being who have good sides and bad sides both at the same time, which each and everyone living being on this universe have. Actually it's true that this was his fate which he tried to change, but death of Sasha conformed and cleared his mind , and made accept his fate and made himself ready to bear the pain of becoming villain for the world by forcefully killing them all. Because it's true that we can't stop it and we need to keep moving forward. Actually if we see it's the whole reality of life as humans are strongly bonded to their fate .This series consists of lots of learning and had played the role of mirror to our society and world.
agreed. i hope isayama doesn't comply to fans' desire of eren's survival - but then again the man has carried out many tragic arcs so peer pressure wouldn't really be a factor of how the anime's ending plays out. then again though, it would be interesting to see the multiverse incorporated into AoT's ending... also the boy (presumably mikasa & jean's son) who encounters the same spinal creature that gave ymir her founding titan power. it's all an inevitable and eery loop (and this is evident in the first chapter where eren wakes up from a "dream").

I dont think It will end diferently. The whole reason time is looping is because Ymir is conceding Mikasa's wish to allow them to live together again and again. Only when Mikasa let go of him by severing their bond herself, she allowed for the power of titans to disappear. I hope they do a beter job presenting this in the anime because it was so confusing in the manga that many people hated it. And if anything needs actual fixing is the ending where the power of titans might come back, otherwise the whole Ymir/Mikasa plot makes no sense.
I just want Eren to be happy somehow, even if he can never be forgiven. He’s gone through a lot of shit and needs some peace of mind. Also Mikasa needs to end up with him at some point, she’s literally been in love with him for years.
I’d also like to see Gabi become a key part of the committee to fix the world after the war crimes the two races have done unto each other. I liked that her character serves as a piece of hope that there can be understanding between the groups.
Also, Levi, Jean, and Hange are some of my favorite characters so I’d like to see what they do long term. They deserve happiness as well.
ALSO!!! I kind of feel like there could be a way for eren to live past his titan “deadline”. We know that changers can only live for like 13 years but what if that simply isn’t true? Couldn’t the Marleyan military have made that up just so that no one person could be powerful forever? Because we never see somebody die as a result of living past their “deadline”. They always get eaten as per Marleyan custom/thinking.
I’ll admit, I’m a simple person who likes a good happy ending. I don’t like endings that are pure tragedy. So if some strings could be pulled and some worldbuilding proven to be false, I’d be all for an AOE and the chance to see characters from one of my favorite animes happy. But if you prefer the original, more depressing ending, I understand where you’re coming from.

There already was a chapter/timeline where Eren was happy with Mikasa so that should hopefully help. There likely is no ending where Eren is happy for the entire story, however. In the chapter Declaration of War Eren is essentially fated to act and suffer the consequences of Reiner. The story has basically foreshadowed heavily that Eren must suffer for his choice as a consequence unfortunately. I believe that must be true whether there's an AOE or not. It was true of the manga ending, despite the protests of fans, and I'm thankful for that as it was necessary for the story to make sense.
