I’ve recently started looking after my nails more, these are my tips that I’ve learnt that help: - Always make sure your nails are clean, use a tool to clean underneath them if you need to and scrub them frequently but with something gentle like a sponge or a cloth. - If you want to grow them long then don’t file too frequently, otherwise file them every week or every other week (not more frequently than a week though because filing too often can damage your nails as well, square nails with right angles are easier to maintain but they might break easier if they’re long. The best files to use are glass files, they can be expensive though so I got a sapphire file for only £2 and it works perfectly fine. If there are rough edges use a finer file afterwards. - If they are long and you don’t want them to break, act as if your nails are freshly painted, stop using them as tools for things like opening drawers etc and be more cautious with them. - Try to avoid acrylic nails or lots of nail polish as this can be harmful, if your going to wear nail polish, wear as few layers as possible, preferably one coat and one top coat and avoid acrylic nails completely, at least for a few months while you’re first trying to improve your nails. - Try to incorporate foods that will help your nails into your diet, even if it is just having a bit of it every other day that will help you have stronger nails, things like almonds and other nuts are good, foods with lots of vitamin E like avocado, mango and kiwi are good as well. And remember to drink plenty of water because your hydration is really good for your nails. - Stop picking or biting your nails, even though it might be hard, trust me it will be worth it when you have your ideal nails. - Keep patient, your nails aren’t going to improve over night, it might be a couple of weeks or even a month before you notice much change, depending on what you want your nails to be like, so you need to keep patient. - It’s equally as important to look after your cuticles as it is your nails, leave your nails in warm/hot water for around a minute to soften your cuticles before using your fingernail on your other hand or a cuticle pusher (Again I got one for £2 and it works well) to gently push up your cuticles, do not cut them though, they protect against bacteria and infections, do this every week after you file them. - Every day at least once (I find it easier to do in the evening before I go to sleep) massage your cuticles with oil. You can pretty much use any type, you can get special cuticle oils but I use olive oil because I have it anyway and it works well, just message each cuticle for about 10 seconds and leave the oil on there. This step really helps so I recommend you do it unless you absolutely can’t. - Remember that the key to healthy nails is your cuticles and healthy cuticles = healthy nails. - If you want to find as exact routine and exactly what products to use, looks up a few different nail routine videos on TH-cam to get more ideas and tips, this is what I do. - Remember, having healthy nails doesn’t need to be expensive and you don’t need to have fancy products, you can probably get everything you need for under £10, maybe under £5. I hope these tips help you reach your nail goals! 💖

I don't know if swimming affects your nail health cause I swim every single day but still have long healthy nails and I don't even do anything like anything for them at all... Except that I have never got any acrylic manicure, or bitten my nails, I have protective nail polish on most of the time, never ever have messed with my cuticles, I just cut my nails every once a week, never filed my nails, never moisturized my nails I just realized that I am pretty much just watching this video for time pass😂😇
my nails are super damaged, short, and they are weak (break easily) so I am hoping to grow them out and this rlly motivates me and helps me ! so thx girlll✨
The key to nice cuticles is leaving them alone. I've never touched mine and nail salons always say there's nothing to remove or push back because they're in such good shape. I leave my nails alone in general (no gel, just polish) and they look like falsies. If you want your nails to thrive NEVER buff them and moisturise after every hand wash.
Great tips!!👌🏽 My nails are doing better since I’ve adopted most of these tips already, but still struggling to avoid the inevitable breakage once they’re long! Top factors inhibiting growth currently: -Quick hand movements! I have to force myself to move slower to avoid zippers etc. I’m impatient lol -Prolonged water use…seemed counterintuitive to me at first because water hydrates, right? Sometimes long showers strip my moisture. -Diet lacking Currently helping: -Filing gently any jaggeds right away! -Applying lavender oil / at least moisturizer, many times through the day. previously used coconut oil. Idk how much these penetrate but it looked like they were. Gonna try jojoba oil now 👌🏽
- Stop getting acrylic manicures - Leave your cuticles alone - File your nails instead of cutting them - Use a nail brush to clean dirt from under nails - Remove nail polish with an acetone-free nail polish remover - Moisturize with oil - Avoid prolonged water exposure - Avoid using nail art tools - Avoid gimmicks - Have Patience
My natural nail actually grew so beautifully during quarantine bc I no longer was a waitress/bartender therefore no more constant water immersion. Ughhh then I got gel manicure and then powder dip. The manicurist Jack hammered my nails. So I now have to start all over again. Nail Rehab Life 💅🏼
I've definitely been there! 😫 One of the last times I did gel, the manicurist destroyed my natural nails, and made me bleed. I wanted to cry, but I just ended the service midway through, paid, and never went back.

Omg as a pharmacy student...thank you 😂 you are the first youtuber who is talking facts instead of trying to sell something. I hate seeing someone selling me something because I know it’s bs and I can’t say anything 😅
Just a FYI for some here with long natural nails. If you are like me and do a lot of mechanic work, masonry, using a chain saw, lots of work you have to do with your hands. Get a good pair of work gloves in a women's size, or a large children's size. You still have to be mindful but you can still actually get work done without chips/breaks/cracks. I get a break or chip about once every 6 months which I think is pretty good for the amount of physical labor I do on a daily basis. Thanks for the great video and I hope this helps all the women out there. Happy growing! :) :)
I had no idea about the cuticle part she talked about. Pushing them back doesn’t give the effect of longer nails? Wow. Never pushing/cutting them ever again. Thank you! 💙
I have a few questions. 1. For the oil how many times do you put it on and when? 2. For the gloves do you wear them when you taking a shower/bath or use something else? 3. For the hand cream do you put it after being in contact with water or before? 4. For the brush do you use it for when you have something stuck in your nails and when washing your hands or no? (I’ll update if I have more questions) (I have more questions) 5. How do you open stuff without ur nails. For example soda and soup.
1. 3-4 times a day or however much you can. Its great to do it after your hands have gotten dried out for some reason like hand washing. You really can't oil your nails "too much" so do it often. 2. I don't use gloves so I'm not sure. 3. Lotion is usually applied after coming into contact with water and the hands are dried. 4. The brush is for when there is dirt and debris under your nails but also just to use whenever you wash your hands because bacteria and germs can get trapped under there especially the longer your nails get. It just gently pushes water, soap and bristles under and around the nail to clean it. 5. Get creative.. you can use a butter knife or anything that's thin enough to lodge itself under the tab and just pull it up.
Love this!! It’s so hard to find real beauty tips that aren’t meant to sell you anything so thank you! Looking forward to a diet video! (And skin and teeth) lol
I just recently had to stop wearing glue on nails because of my new profession and I’m happy actually!! Love my natural nails can’t wait for the damaged nail to grow out so I can cut that part off and have nice nails to paint with clear nail polish!!! Yay!!!!!
Thank You for being so real I’ve been growing my nails over a year and I’ve been wondering what I was doing wrong because they are brittle. going to start immediately 😊😊
omg i struggle for the longest time to keep them natural and healthy thank you so much for sharing you are funny , beautiful and smart 💗 looking forward to see more of your videos keep it up🌟
I have long acrylic extensions and I just love them too much to go thru this process. I know !!!! I'm just not patient. I am going to try this on my toenails though, as I like to wear them a little long. Thank you so much!!!!
Hiiii! I loved the video! Is it “okay” if I use Vitamin E oil? They said it makes your nails stronger but I’m not too sure... idk if any of u guys know anything about that but all comments welcome 😌✨
Hi, yes you can use vitamin E oil and many other oils. Jojoba oil has molecules small enough to penetrate the nail, but most oils will do the job of moisturizing.
This is really helpful and completely true I have medium sized nails coz I’m always busy and all those things like grow your nails overnight with toothpaste doesn’t work you can massage your nails with oils to increase blood circulation or eat a health diet to make them stronger those things help but don’t help grow your nails over night it just take healthy nails and patience to grow them :)
Some of these tips I did not even consider!!! I usually have half of my nails grow long while nails on my most active fingers get setback with breakage. So I will focus on moisturizing, changing out my nail polish remover, and definitely not using my nails as tools (very guilty here). Thank you!
Omg thank you! I didn't expect to need this info, I hesitated to click bc I assumed that I cared for my nails well! I'm shocked by these facts. I'm so pissed at myself for doing everything wrong this whole time. Tysm for the tips 🥂😭❤️😭❤️🥂
I currently have acrylics on right now to cover up my natural nail I have very bad anxiety and that causes me to bite my nails often I would absolutely LOVE to have long natural nails, but I have always had trouble growing them out because of my biting habits :(
Try wearing nail polish to help stop the biting. If there’s particular ones you tend to bite, try putting plasters over them (or band aids? I think Americans call them?)
Professionally done and removed acrylics that are well maintained and of high quality when it comes to materials don’t damage nails. Acrylics keep them short due to having to trim growth to apply forms/tips :)
Absolutely! The problem here is that a lot of nail techs or people doing at home manicures don't use the proper methods, resulting in a lot of damage to the natural nail. But yes it all comes down to application and removal methods 👌🏽
One thing I would like to add us that the shape of your nail can also have a good impact on the likelyness of nail to break Anything with sharp corners tends to get caught on stuff a lot more easily So if you tried everything else on this list (which I would high key recommend) consider saying goodbye to your square or stiletto nails and try out a round or almond shape
Usually when I watch tutorials or advices vids it be full of products and chemicals so I end up giving up Am so thankful, you made things simpler and more fun ❤️
I used to bite my nails when i was little so now they grow in kinda weird shape and everytime i let them grow bit longer, they start bending, which doesnt look so nice
Patience is the main term! Looked for Your video for a long since I gave up that idea but again, after suffering from oniholizis ‘cause of gel/lamp manicure, and having seen in “Spendaholics” how much I spend on salon manicure/pedicure - as much as half iPhone😂😢, - I strictly decided and dedicated to grow out my natural strong healthy nails. This is freedom of master, of time waste on going to salon, freedom to paint my nails as I want any time or don’t! Thank You so much for Your clear tips how to do it!
Try eating more apples. Apparently it’ll naturally whiten them! AND instead of brushing your teeth with toothpaste, swish virgin, organic, cold pressed and refined coconut oil for at least 10 minutes before you eat. You can do it twice a day and if you can’t do it for 10 minutes, try 5 and slowly increase it to 10-20 minutes
I play netball and I’m not allowed to have longer nails than my finger tip because of it, hence I must have short nails and hate it. And I’m still here 😭👍🏽
I have patience, I just hope this works 🙏 just made my Amazon purchases everything comes in 2 days! Pray for my constantly peeling nails. Best believe I'll come back and share my experience, especially if it's a positive one😊
I've been promising this one for a while 😅 I just feel like skin care and make up are so saturated on social media now. I don't think my advice is going to be unique from anyone else's. But I'll still do a make up one soon 💕
I’ve been wearing dip powder and my nails grow long but they break as soon as I remove the dip. So I want to stop wearing them. Are you wearing anything besides regular nail polish?
This year I’m growing my hair longer and gonna grow my natural nails out😊❤️💅🏻💆🏽♀️

I just recently had to stop wearing glue on nails because of my new profession and I’m happy actually!! Love my natural nails can’t wait for the damaged nail to grow out so I can cut that part off and have nice nails to paint with clear nail polish!!! Yay!!!!!
omg you're so pretty!!! you look like a disney princess 😍
IKR? I’m getting Pocahontas / Cinderella vibes
Thank You for being so real I’ve been growing my nails over a year and I’ve been wondering what I was doing wrong because they are brittle. going to start immediately 😊😊
I’m here bc I’m pregnant and noticing how beautiful and long my natural nails are ! I love painting them now definitely not gonna do acrylics anymore
Yesss I know pregnancy is full of long hair, long nails, and glowing skin 😍 enjoy it beautiful!
The best TH-camrs are the ones who make fun of themselves and act clueless. IM IN LOVE 👍💋💕👌
omg i struggle for the longest time to keep them natural and healthy thank you so much for sharing you are funny , beautiful and smart 💗 looking forward to see more of your videos keep it up🌟
Thank you so much!
Beat nail video on this platform hands down 🙌🏼
It is such a joyous feeling when you already have healthy long nails while watching this
I have long acrylic extensions and I just love them too much to go thru this process.
@@christinablum408 okok! tysm!!
Thanks this helped a LOT I have been trying to grow my nails for EVERR and this just made my day THANKS 😊!
I just started watching her and i already love her
This is really helpful and completely true I have medium sized nails coz I’m always busy and all those things like grow your nails overnight with toothpaste doesn’t work you can massage your nails with oils to increase blood circulation or eat a health diet to make them stronger those things help but don’t help grow your nails over night it just take healthy nails and patience to grow them :)
Can we take a second to appreciate her makeup
This is video I needed to watch! Just r moved my gel nails and trying to restore them
I just came from your tips for longer hair 😳😳
😹
Hahahaha 💇🏽♀️
Same!
i dont get it
@@ariella2828 bc her hair is cut now lol 😭 ironic
Omg clearly wish to grow my hair and nails because I am having a glow up for school ☺️ so thanks a lot
Ayo i don’t have nails but im still watching this, i fell asleep and woke up to this. ;-;
Lmaoooo i'm happy you made it 🙌🏽😂
I was waiting a reply like this same for real I'm not going I was doing my homework then I went on my iPad and she was there yay
So happy I could help with new information 💕 and it's never too late to start
I’ve tried everything under the sun to grow my nails.
It’s good to try and get to the point quicker .
I currently have acrylics on right now to cover up my natural nail
I have very bad anxiety and that causes me to bite my nails often
I would absolutely LOVE to have long natural nails, but I have always had trouble growing them out because of my biting habits :(
Try wearing nail polish to help stop the biting.
"Use oil on your nails." *pours vegetable oil on nails*
That’s what I said
She said u shouldn’t add vegetables cause it sits on ur nail but Ik this is a joke. Just giving tips :)
One thing I would like to add us that the shape of your nail can also have a good impact on the likelyness of nail to break
Anything with sharp corners tends to get caught on stuff a lot more easily
So if you tried everything else on this list (which I would high key recommend) consider saying goodbye to your square or stiletto nails and try out a round or almond shape
i didn’t know about the cuticle thing but it bothers me so much seeing my crusty cuticles😭
Beautiful nails! I am with you sis. Natural nails over acrylics. Thank you for sharing. Diet and time are the biggest for me.
I literally just learned out about you today and love ur videos
Thank you! Hope you stick around 🥰
Usually when I watch tutorials or advices vids it be full of products and chemicals so I end up giving up
Am so thankful, you made things simpler and more fun ❤️
I love your nails there so long and healthy
My favorite nail polish remover 😍
let’s be real our pinky nail and ring finger nail barely break
Thank you. I'm growing out my nails to make it easier to play guitar. This has really helped.
i was always taught to have shorter nails cause i play violin and it could interrupt my playing
oops sorry replied on the wrong account 😭
I used to bite my nails when i was little so now they grow in kinda weird shape and everytime i let them grow bit longer, they start bending, which doesnt look so nice
Same 😭
Mine go up, like my nails grow upwards, cuz i used to bite them.
Thank You so much for Your clear tips how to do it!
can you do how to whiten up teeth naturally :D
also love this video 🥰
Try eating more apples. Apparently it’ll naturally whiten them! AND instead of brushing your teeth with toothpaste, swish virgin, organic, cold pressed and refined coconut oil for at least 10 minutes before you eat. You can do it twice a day and if you can’t do it for 10 minutes, try 5 and slowly increase it to 10-20 minutes
One of the best videos about nails ❤️
You deserve more subs ! Imma stick on ur TH-cam adventure
You're so sweet! Thank you for the support and I am planning on getting back on it really soon
@@christinablum408 your accually nice and your tips work!
Best nail tips thank you
And omg you have the most beautiful natural nails ever
I play netball and I’m not allowed to have longer nails than my finger tip because of it, hence I must have short nails and hate it. And I’m still here 😭👍🏽
ugh same the struggle is real
i have natural long nails but i do want to keep them healthy because i love them!
Love the new hair!!
Thank you! Im ready for the hair comments lol. People from youtube always go crazy when they see my hair care video, but then check my ig 💇🏽♀️
Thank you for your generosity to share your beauty tips. I love taking care of my hair and nail.
She came back. Next video 2021 😄
still waiting 😫😭
Girl we love you and your bloopers please make more than a video a year.
me watching videos hot to take care of my body and my insecurities in general:
my depression:
I have patience, I just hope this works 🙏 just made my Amazon purchases everything comes in 2 days! Pray for my constantly peeling nails. Best believe I'll come back and share my experience, especially if it's a positive one😊
Can you use almond oil???
Most oils are beneficial, just be consistent in moisturizing.
These are amazing tips, thank you! I never thought of washing dishes with gloves on but that makes a lot of sense. ☺️
okay... i learned. that. im going to need patience for that make up video you promised us on Instagram. haha!! missed u on here!!
I've been promising this one for a while 😅 I just feel like skin care and make up are so saturated on social media now. I don't think my advice is going to be unique from anyone else's. But I'll still do a make up one soon 💕
I used to have really long nails until I cut them off to get acrylics, I totally regret itttt, but now they're growing healthy and pretty 🥰
I’ve been wearing dip powder and my nails grow long but they break as soon as I remove the dip. So I want to stop wearing them. Are you wearing anything besides regular nail polish?
when i saw the thumbnail i was like “GIRL THATS REAL?- HUH- IM CONFUSED- NO WAY IM MISSING OUT ON THIS”
i am in love with her hair
