  • This dive watch from Invicta, model #31290, is part of their Pro Diver Series. It's a modern retro-inspired dive watch that sold out when first introduced . This video looks at the pros and cons of the watch and whether or not its a good deal, today.
    This watch can be found on my JomaShop/EricsEverydayWatches Top 15 Watches landing page. This is an affiliate link. If you use it you will not be charged anything extra. But I will get a small percentage of the sale.

    Just bought one of these and 3 other Invicta Pro Divers from ebay last night. Can't wait to get them. I've got a Seiko and a Citizen, but for the value you can't go wrong with these Invicta's!

    I love my 31290, it's become my daily driver and I work in the marine industry, it gets covered in sea water daily and I swim in the ocean with it, still going strong and reliable to +/-2'ish seconds per day 💪🏻.......and I have no anxiety about it being lost, stolen or ripped off my wrist!

    This is a very tasteful watch and a good buy at that price point! I own a similar one already, but I will take a look at the website now for their other offerings. I never bought a watch from Invicta because the models did not appeal to me before, but this is a very nice direction and I hope they will be doing more in this or similar styles.

    I remember desperately trying to get one of these when they first came out and failing miserably. They were completely sold out. It was like trying to get a Rolex. It took me about a year to get one and then I had to pay a slight premium on ebay. Of all my 40 plus watches at every price point, this is my go to watch. I wear this watch more than any other watch I own. I absolutely love it! It's an homage of my favorite watch of all time, the Rolex 6204.

    I have this watch also and I very happy with it. One of the reasons I like it is that it’s virtually identical to the 1953 Rolex (except that it has a 40mm case instead of the 1953 Rolex’s 38mm) which is also the same year I was born. I have also fitted a sapphire crystal onto it and managed to regulate it to +2 to +3 seconds per day. The only downside is that although it looks like a vintage Rolex, when I wear it I’m very conscious that it’s an Invicta.

      Hello rogerauclair1670. That movement inside is great. Very reliable and as you know, capable of being very accurate. Of course it’s an Invicta and not a Rolex but for the money,I think it’s the nicest watch Invicta makes by far.

  • @PanzergrauModels
    @PanzergrauModels 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Nice review and pretty good watch.
    That is not a ghost position: the movement is still a NH35 and therefore has a date dial. The watch does not have the window for it, but the date is still there.
    Alternarively, they could have use an NH38 (same as NH35/36/34 at the core but without a date). Cost saving measure, I assume, but I still don't like it. Other than that, the watch looks amazing!

    • @MikePlantus
      @MikePlantus 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wouldn't it still be considered a ghost position if there's no date window, just because there's a date wheel under the dial you still have a ghost position IMHO. That's not just my opinion but is explained as such by all the watch channels your the only one I've heard explain it that way. Anyway cheers Lad!

    Just a quick note...a screw down crown does not "give" you water resistance, make a watch water resistant or add more water resistance...That is not it's purpose. Otherwise...great video, new subscriber here!

      Hello TheLaughingOtter. Good catch, it’d be more accurate to say “helping to achieve” although I’m not sure that’s the best way to phrase it either. I’ll give it some more thought and adjust when I create future videos. Thanks for the comment and subscribing.

      @@EricsEverydayWatches No worries brother, just trying to help. The screw down crown was created to prevent accidental opening of the crown while underwater. So technically, you are right, it does help with water resistance in a way. Here's some other things that "watch guys" say that I strongly disagree with... A lot of "watch guys who do videos on TH-cam will say that if a watch does not have a screw down crown then it's not a dive watch, they'll say it's a "dive style watch"...this is far from true. There are many well made dive watches that don't use screw down crowns, take Sinn for example, they make a 5000m diver that does not have a screw down crown. Another thing that"watch guys" will say is, if a watch only has 100m of water resistance then it's a "dive style" watch...hmmm, 100m is roughly 330 feet or so ...I live on the coast and I know many professional and recreational SCUBA divers, a iot of the recreational guys dive between 50 to 150 meters... the fact is...if you need a breathing apparatus and gas mixtures to go that deep then 100m is a dive watch, don't let anyone tell you different. The third thing some "watch guys" will say is, if it's not ISO certified then it's not a dive watch...lol, Getting ISO certification is a pain in the ass for watch makers. Some will go through the process (Seiko), some won't...I've never heard anyone call a Rolex Submariner a Dive Style watch because it's not ISO certified. I like your channel, I hope it grows...Just do your own research and you'll do just fine brother!

      @@TheLaughingOtter hey LaughingOtter. I have heard those before, especially the 100m , it seems to be a common thing people say about dive watches. But I’ve never seen anything which says a dive watch HAS to be 200m. Thanks for sharing, always good to hear other people’s take on things like this. 👍

    • @fldiverjc4496
      @fldiverjc4496 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheLaughingOttervery good points across the board.
      I don't know of any recreational divers going to 150 meters let alone 150 ft. So your point is correct in part.
      For most recreational divers if it's a dive watch that's been at least pressure tested to 50m that's more than enough.
      Overall some very accurate points.

      Hey Pawel. Thanks for watching. It’s similar. It looks like that other model has a cyclops eye for the date and the Invicta logo etched on the side, but you’re right they have a lot similarities going on. Seem like Invicta makes a lot of drive watch variations now. Do you own the other model? If so, how do you like it?

    • @pzwolski
      @pzwolski ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Invicta 8926OB is a homage to Rolex Submariner. I find it made very well. Both sides are polished matching the polished sides of the bracelet. Brushed top of lugs match the top of the bracelet. There is a regular crown with a nice convex logo. The dial is simple, but has magnificent applied logo and brand name. The seconds hand is outstanding, however lume is so-so. Mine copy has a little too stiff bezel, it could fly lighter. The caseback is probably the same as in yours.
      I also own an Orient Kamasu and must admit both watches are very similiar, Kamasu being twice more expensive.
      Overall the Invicta's "submariner" is well worth buying.

    It's a shame you pass on the Pro Diver. Look beyond that logo and it's a decent watch for little money.
    I also suspect they have upped their quality control. I had a Pro Diver some years ago and it took 3 attempts to get one that was satisfactory. I sold it on and never looked at them again but recently I picked up another two out of curiosity and both were pretty much flawless.
