1701spacecadet pretty much how it goes. Something’s looked down on till it’s not. Yes invicta makes a lot of crazy wacky designs and their biggest claim to fame is an homage, but for the price it’s not bad. A even more historical brand like Squale even has a sub homage. They’re watches, just enjoy them.

It is a preference not a wrong or right thing. This is the first Invicta that feels good on the wrist, keeps perfect time, simplicity embodies elegance sometimes, and this is one of those times. It’s not a issue but I’ve received compliments on it (probably thought it was a Rolex) I don’t care. ..,I use it everyday. For a $1,000 I could buy 10 more lol. Live long and prosper. You can’t go wrong. This is a well made stainless steel automatic watch. I’m a simple man. If I had $15,000 I would NOT buy a Rolex. P.S. I love vintage look.

Thanks for the review. Very well done. I've been wearing the 8926OB pro diver since the fall of 2019 and I absolutely love how it feels on the wrist not to mention the superb NH35A work horse quality movement. After seeing the 1953, I realize that it's a cleaner look and something about its vintage retro appearance makes it very attractive. I checked online and it seems to be out of stock everywhere.

6204 & 6205 I think match it more closely particularly the bezel insert. It's also little bigger. The "lume" is very close again to the models listed. In the right light the screen must glows with golden goodness. It's a great looking piece. If you want one that looks smaller try the black one. Throw that horrible bracelet away and put it on an Oysterflex or a nato, it will transform it. Edit; also good luck with finding one for $100 they're changing hands just shy of £300 on eBay, £270 for a used one. Anywhere that lists them will sell out fast. You can find ones with two tone bezel inserts more easily but online the price of these is starting to climb, specially the "Batman" black over blue bezel insert. Definitely the best Invicta since the 9937/0B with its Sellita SW200 Swiss automatic movement, which is an ETA 2824 essentially. These were built to a much higher standard but again getting difficult to find these days.

Good review! It's true that you can get an Orient with an original design for a little more, but sometimes you just want a well executed homage. I have resisted, until now, buying a Tudor BB or Rolex Submariner homage from chinese brands like Pagani Design or Parnis and I'm glad I did because I will order this Invicta as soon as I can. They have been in existence for nearly 2 centuries (since 1837) so imo they can be a little more trustworthy, in the general know-how, than a chinese brand established 3-5-10 years ago...

The review was well done other than a few verbal missteps. As reviews often tend to be, many of the comments were based on the reviewer’s taste and not necessarily on how the watch might appeal to the watch community on the whole. The 40mm case size, for example, will be a deal-breaker for those with bigger wrists/who seek larger watches in general. The vintage look is another piece which may dissuade some buyers. For me, the ‘broken bracelet link’ was a real downer. I expect a new watch to be 100% regardless of how good a deal it is. I won’t buy this one but I did appreciate the review.

I liked the review but most of it other than specs was subjective

I’m not trying to be objective. That’s why there are multiple watch reviewers because every persons point of view and opinion differs.

@@theknightswatch I think you added too much of your own opinion I was wanting more of a spec review but it literally looks like it hurts you to compliment invicta it’s ,Ike you insult it by saying but hey it’s only a $100 well that $100 means a lot more to some than others but myself I treat all my watches nice no matter how much they cost.I don’t know you but you seem to be a bit of a watch snob as they say in some of your statements and that’s my version of subjective but hey I don’t know you but first impressions are everything!

Pluses - It looks really good
Minuses - It makes all the other Invicta's look even worse than they did before

The bracelet pretty much sucks. It rattled and just wasn't quality. I switched it with a Bond NATO and the watch looks great.

Invicta makes some ugly watches. Some beauties also. I collect Invicta automatic self-winding watches. That's just me. I currently have a 31290, 3048, and 8928OB. 👍 for your video. I enjoy hearing others comment on the brand watches I collect. I also collect Casio, Citizen, and Timex.

Extremely cheaply made Invicta . Much worse than the ProDiver
