When I met Robert, I had him sign my dream warriors poster and he said that he thinks the 3rd is absolutely the most loved

I disagree on Saw and Psycho. However I can't take Blade 2 seriously at all, by far the worst Blade film, I absolutely hate that movie. I agree on all the others, that I've seen. 28 weeks later has 100% more Rose Byrne than 28 days so wins on that alone for me.
For me Halloween renake by Rob Zombie is better than the original.
Friday the 13th remake is also better than the original (the best of the Friday 13ths for me but loads are better than the original).
I think 4 is the best. Might just be when it came out and it being one of the first movies that made me go, oh I like this stuff. And I hate how freddy dresses in New nightmare.

One of the best things about Friday the 13th Part 4 is the genuinely likable characters. I actually felt something for the majority of the characters when they died.

Nightmare 3 was actually banned in my state of Queensland in Australia for several years due to its depiction of teenage suicide and drug addiction.

Psycho 2 has a lot of love. The original is the best to me but part 2 is a worthy sequel
The original Psycho is a real classic masterpiece and part II is just "okay".

I love the ending to, "A nightmare in elm street". I see it as Nancy's dream while in the psych ward. The hazy look of the film As she walks out of the house to me is her being doped up in the psych ward. And even though she beat freddy, he took her sanity. And didn't she confess in part 3 that she was in a psych ward? I like it a lot and think it's one of the best endings in a slasher film.
Dude! The Way Way Back and Chef! Thank you so much for mentioning these two movies. I watched both of them yesterday with my 10 year old daughter and my girlfriend. Watching them made me feel really happy, and I appreciate you.
I also really like that in dream warriors Freddy plays off their fears from reality but they feel to me like the most grounded/ real fears from all the nightmares in the franchise
I loved the concept of Saw 2 but its like they gave up on that concept half way through the movie. I'm referring to how each person had their own trap/tape they had to deal with but we only got to see the first couple because the poison began taking affect and it became chaos!! They should have waited a little longer before chaos took affect!!
I used to agree with Aliens being better until I did a double feature of the two. I think a lot of what makes the first one stand out is that the sets and effects are actually surprisingly better than the second.

Yes but theres no Hudson, Hicks, Vasquez or Bishop. Cameron gave us so many great characters in Aliens and fleshed out Ellen Ripley a lot more. The slasher elements grow tired after the first few viewings. You know what's coming. You know what's behind every corner. You know when the monster is going to pop out. But Cameron made audiences really care about his characters, especially the more times you see the movie.

So please never quit TH-cam your videos are very enjoyable and mine and yours opinions are close most of time on movies and such.. Jason Lives; I feel like it's the best written and acted of the franchise, and probably the most fun.
Dream Warriors; The perfect Freddy movie, the cast is incredible, the writing is great, and it has the best kills in the franchise
Bride of Frankenstein; more screentime dedicated to the monster, making Boris Karloffs take on the character one of the most nuanced and sympathetic characters in horror history
@Cody Leach they had a tight budget working on 28 Days Later, and to get wide shots of large London streets completely empty, they had to set up multiple cameras before sunrise in order to capture the look they wanted.
So they got cheap and used household video cameras and set them up strategically to get the most coverage in as little time as possible.
Cheap, dated for sure, but you have to admire their determination and the final product is still brilliant in my opinion
My favorite saw is the one where you realize it’s all happening at the same time. LOVED THAT
So glad you mentioned Psycho 2. So so good. And would make an absolutely classic stand alone slasher.

I also prefer Dream Warriors over the original it’s really hard to choose between the two but I give the edge to Dream Warriors cause I think the teenagers are the most to watch Freddy is fun in this movie as well yes he starts to have jokes but they’re used perfectly and don’t take away from how scary Freddy is Nancy has a great return as this basically veteran to the teens and helping them defeat Freddy and it has the best death of Freddy in the entire franchise

Some pretty darn good picks on this list! Definitely agree with Nightmare 3, and though I prefer Friday 6, Friday 4 was one of the best "finales" for a franchise.
You made me want to listen to Dokken's dream warriors. Love that song. I actually don't mind the songs from the opening of the 4th and even the worst one, I'm awake now from Goo Goo Dolls.

Very solid list, Cody, wouldn't agree with everything but can't deny anything. Ranking aside, personally, I would switch Saw 2 with Exorcist 3 which I cannot praise enough. Keep up the great vids, man!

dream warriors was my brother and my favorite horror movie growing up... even to this day its so much fun

I 100% agree with 28 Weeks Later. Always chilling to watch. As scary as that Tunnel scene in 28 days later is the running to the boat scene is even more scary (imo)

28 weeks later is genuinely good that opening scene is amazing
That's a solid list for sure. Really loved the psycho II selection. Very underated film. As far as Nightmare, Chucky & Alien selections I could argue both ways bcuz the originals and follow ups are both so solid. I think what makes the originals so beloved is the idea of you don't have a clue what's going to happen cuz it's the characters debut. In Alien when the chest burst scene happens you're in utter shock. And when Dallas is jumped by the xenomorh that's truly one of the best jump scares in movie history. And when Andy's mom opens that battery compartment and there's no batteries... classic!!! And Freddy's first kill totally freaks you out.
As far as F13 goes I think the original is kind of an outlier bcuz Jason's not the killer. So I say part 2 is actually the original (Jason film) but even so I can't argue about 4 cuz it and 6 are my top 2 of the franchise.
Cody, the comment you made about seeing NOTL Dead too late in life.. I kind of feel that way about Halloween 1978. Without taking anything away from it, I recognize it is a masterpiece, and if I were recommending the franchise to someone, this is probably the only must-see, but it just isn't usually the 1st choice if I'm in. Halloween mood, maybe because it is very slow-paced. I know I'm on an island with this thought, and people are going to rip me a new one here in the comments, but in the context of not growing up with the film, does it at least make a little sense?

Oddly enough, my very first introduction to Chucky was catching the end of Child’s Play 2 on television. It scared me as a kid but I love it as an adult.
I think I saw Nightmare 3 before I saw the original. Still love it.

I agree with you about everything, but i absolutely agree with you on 28 weeks later!!! I watched it last night for the first time and boy was it good, it was shot in high quality and for that reason alone it's much better!!!!
Dream Warrior and the original Nightmare are hard to pick between. Agree the last few minutes of the original really hurt the first. And I think Freddy is at his most iconic perfect form in 3. He’s quippy and funny while staying scary and not going overboard like in later sequels. Nightmare has always been my favorite horror franchise too so love them both.
No trouble here from me for 28 weeks later, while the first is good I feel it's a bit slow in parts, 28 weeks later is intense from start to finish! Wish they'd hurry up and make a 3rd Great video cody!
Agree with all of these except for Blade 2 and Phantasm 2, but only because I haven't seen them. I'm encouraged to see Phantasm 2 on here because I watched the original only a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it

Awesome list Cody. Have you seen the show The Strain? If you like those bald vampires from Blade 2 whose mouths open up I recommend that show. It was also created by Guillermo Del Toro and it has very similar vampires in there who are far more expanded upon. Though I still love Blade 2 as well.

And Halloween III was the last decent Halloween film even though it wasn't really a Halloween film. The camp was glorious. Although I haven't seen the new one yet but not expecting much. Maybe it'll surprise me.
Evil Dead 2 and Devils Rejects are the two I can think of off the top of my head that werent in the video.

First ones that came to mind were Child’s Play 2 and Saw II. Aliens I think is equal to Alien, love both for different reasons. Also hard to pick between 28 Days and Weeks later, they have very different feels but both are brilliant. Weeks has some absolutely amazing scenes and way surpassed my expectations (I thought it would be a lame sequel before watching it, loved the opening scene, helicopter scene, night vision scene, honestly whole movie was brilliant).

1. Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (pretty much all you say I agree with, love this film)
2. Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives (I grew up with this franchise. Love it even the shit ones. This one was always the most fun for me and just overall love it)
3. Friday the 13th Part 4: The Final Chapter (lots of people's favorite and I see why. Love Corey Feldman and Ted White. Overall just a great slasher.)
4. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (mask is awful but rest of the film I love. Especially Jamie and Rachel's relationship.)
5. Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (some hate this. Me I absolutely love it. Just for how freaky it is I love. I have a blast with this one even if it's the odd one of the series.)
Cody, I love you brother, I agreed with everything on your list whole heartedly until you got to number one. I agree dream warriors is definitely the best of all of the sequels in the Elm Street franchise, however nothing will ever top the original.😎
To be fair though, Halloween 3 is a fun and badass flick and does blow H5, 6 and even 2018 out of the water, but that's just me bruh.
