The Collector is a very underrated horror film. It’s definitely great!
It’s incredible. If it were made to a prequel to Saw like it was planned to be, I would’ve disliked it.

The Collector is such a well executed film. An antagonist who’s unique and mysterious and a protagonist the audience can actually root for.

They parodied it as it came out the last year Texas chainsaw massacre 2 was released. Hooper wanted to make a clear black comedy horror.
The toy factory scene in childs play 2 was pure nightmare fuel. First time I saw it I got a head ache when chuck’s head exploded.
Love the graphics on this intro. The great thing about these 31 On 31 rankings is the diversity of opinion on these lists. Total respect to the entire crew.

Child's Play 2 would be my #1 too. Possibly my favourite slasher movie of all time. Love how it comes full circle starts at the Toy Factory and ends at the Toy Factory. Solid list man.

I always thought the ttagline on the Evil Dead remake “the most terrifying film” was a tribute to the original, which was always quoted as the most terrifying & brutal film when I grew up.
I felt the same way when I saw the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake in theaters! That movie and the first Final Destination were my scariest movie experiences.
Child’s Play 2 is one of my all time favorite horror movies also!

Child's play 2019 is such a clever movie, have seen it a few times now and there is a lot more subtext to it than you would think. You really see the friendship between Andy and Chucky, which was never shown before. It's a different type of movie to the original, I'd place it very high in my list. Excellent soundtrack as well

I totally agree with the remake of Evil Dead being better than the original. How many times have I watched an old movie and wished it could be remade with modern tech but still keep the quality? This one did it!! It was much more serious and not slap stick. And the way the demon mind-fucked that girl in the basement with that box cutter!!? Gave the whole theater chills Top Notch!!
I thought I was the only one who thought the remake was better! I just can’t get into all the others, unfortunately.

If you ever do this long enough to touch on 31 franchises, you should take the highest ranked of each franchise and do a 31 on 31. Best of the best.

Prequels have always been divisive but I believe they occur when writers have run out of fresh ideas and think that giving every key character and element of the narrative a back story somehow imparts greater gravitas. The vast majority of prequels I'm aware of, regardless of genre, have won far higher acclaim from critics than fans, which is significant! When I start a book I don't immediately turn to page minus one! Thanks for keeping life interesting Cody👍😄👋

As soon as you said Child's Play franchise was in the ranking, I instantly knew what your #31 and #1 would be.
The Collector was so well done.....way bloodier and more graphic than I like in a movie....but it was intense.
I was disappointed with the ending, however.........I like it when the good guy wins.

Laurie Metcalf as Billy Loomis was great in Scream 2! I can't believe she played Andy's Mother in the Toy Story Franchise.
We have a lot of generational differences between us, but that was a fun watch and you are absolutely correct about that 3rd act in Child's Play 2. They went above and beyond!
