I know of a guy like that (he did it to me) and I have ZERO pity on him. He is a narcissist and doesn't have Asperger's Syndrome.

    Loneliness is very common these days, social media tends to make it worse by comparing ourselves with each other which then doesn't make us feel comfortable to be with others.

    • @keithbell9348
      @keithbell9348 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I suspect upwards of 85% to 90% of the way people present themselves on social media is fake.
      As you point out, they see someone "living their best life" and others try to out do the other person.

      because of social media, i developed social anxiety.. too many information from the internet, i kinda down regulated myself and becoming somewhat diluted.
      empathy though grows but its boring afterawhile.
      its a feeling of becoming nonexistent 🤷

    • @keithbell9348
      @keithbell9348 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jJust_NO_ It could be helpful to know that many parents who work in for hi tech companies like Twitter, Google will not allow their children to go on social media for the same reasons you reveal. Or, they set strict guidelines and monitor what they allow their kids to be exposed too.
      I am convinced that upwards of 90% of the stuff you see out there ain't real. It's phony. Because it is natural for people to make it look like they have thousands of admirers, but in reality, they have very little if any true friends. They make themsleves look attractive so as to attract others to their sites.
      2 keys:
      1) be selective as to where you go on social media. Why pronouce your feelings of isolation by viewing hours of others who make it look like they are "living their best life"? Alot of that is an illusion.
      2)The best friends to have are face to face interactions with people out in public. And remember, if you want a true friend, you have to be a true friend. So be proactive and you will find them!

    • @keithbell9348
      @keithbell9348 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steve that is so true.
      Here is something else that is just as real:
      Alot of that stuff you see on social media is fake. It's people making it look like they are "living their best lives" in order to attract most of the attention on themselves. They are starving for attention and want to be admired and looked up to by others.
      That reality can help you to realise they are just like everyone else, and by no means are they more special than anyone else. So while we may be comparing ourselves with them, trust that they, in turn, are comparing themselves to YOU.
      There isn't a soul alive on this planet that corners the market on being perfect. That is an illusion.

    • @jJust_NO_
      @jJust_NO_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@keithbell9348 ive already learned internet culture and its parameters in minute detail. because of the knowledge, my phone addiction alleviated. i no longer get so enthused with knowing this and that but only whats relevant to my personal being.
      though some of my friends arr not fairing well. these stimuli from social media are what driving their lives. its a subliminal message conveying 'i seem to not living my best life because i am not outside partying, vacationing to best places and all that. their virtual selves are so curated, presenting a seeming perfect persona and i guess their brains haven't separated the actual/ real life with their avatars on social media.
      well, the difference either way is subtle because its real theyre going to this place and that but the problem comes when one could no longer be at peace while at home..
      what im implying here is the value of simplicity.. its sad when majority of the populace is aiming towards so much without learning the appreciation of small simple things in life which gives joy and soulfulness

      @@lanzer22 I see your point, but I'm not buying it. His hours upon hours of his interviews are a public face that he can prepare for it. He's good at that. But that Thailand thing was like, something he wasn't prepared for and his reaction was thus kind of sincere. Much as I had been interested in his forging a way to make electric cars happen, and of course impressed with his previous financial innovations, his terrible judgement and desire to destroy a man simply because he had better expertise at cave rescue, sickened me. No “good guy” calls someone a pedo for trying to save kids in a practical and timely manner instead of trying to make a PR stunt from it. To me it kinda proved that behind that mask he wears in interviews, he's a narcissist with a big ego.
      His recent manipulation with crypto market when he made people lose hundred of billions by market manipulation only confirmed me that he doesn't really care about others as much as he would like us to believe. Anyway that's how I see it.

    I admire the way he talks and lets his character out. He really is having a conversation and thinking about what other people say and draws his own conclusions in it, and then constructs his own opinion methodically and thoughtful. I think every single one of us can learn something from this man, depending on what your beliefs, values and your view on the world is we will all draw our own conclusions from seeing him talk and taking something from it... i think being more self concious and self aware of ourselves and thinking on our own is a skill we should really practice. I personally feel like, people get pressured into being part of something, to obey to something, to walk along with others... they feel like they are something when they are a part of something else. I think we should strive for being unique, not everybody will be unique, a lot of people feel nowadays like NPCs or heartless souls only copy pasting what others do. And its easy to fall victim to that... society also pushes you towards it, people actively or passively force you into it.
    I am not saying that i am myself not a victim of it, i definitely am... i am catching myself very often just walking with other people without even thinking about it and making my own opinion about it. Not activating my brain... but i am trying to fight against it. Being self aware is one thing, but you also gotta fight it, and you will make people upset, and people will dislike you, wish you the worst and want to see you fail. This goes for social life just like business. Jealousy is a big problem we have, but we should fight it as much as we can.
    Take care guys, and never give up!
    English is not my first language, so i am sorry for my awful grammar :)

    Elon is so authentic and honest to the core. He is lonely. He achieved a great success, but at the expense of his personal life unfortunately. Well, but many people are lonely, unsuccessful and poor, so it’s still better to be rich and lonely than lonely and poor. He looks depressed. He put all his time and effort into his vision. He’s a visionary way ahead of most of the people on earth.

    This man has the weight of human longevity on his shoulders. He thinks trans-generationally and is consumed by how to realise that seemingly crazy dream. Then the interviewer asks him about ephemeral love that would cease once he's gone! A classic case of talking at cross purposes. Elon's unique, and the few world-changing mavericks like him have always lived & operated from a different mental plane than everybody else. He won't be reduced to self-absorbing feelings of temporary love. His passion is much bigger than that. Hats off to this guy!

    • @iay8334
      @iay8334 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@hannannah1uk Thanks for chiming in. Let me make what I am saying a tad clearer. Elon has indeed had a higher than average number of marriages and children, but I'm afraid all of that information still misses the mark. Secondly, he is easy to categorise because the rarified group of humans that he undoubtedly (now) belongs to are consumed by solving macro and very complex dilemmas. He admitted to being in love before, but very quickly defaulted to what his consuming passion is - reversing the current inevitability of human extinction. What a gargantuan task! That concept and romantic love are not even on the same planet, literally. There is a highly plausible reason why his relationships ended - because for world changing entrepreneurs, solving the big issue always comes first, everything else (including love) is second. If love fails, you can find somebody else, but if the planet becomes unhabitable before safe interplanetary existence is realised, all the love in the world won't mean a thing. As his marriages have shown, love is ephemeral, but existential destruction is permanent. His consuming pursuit is solving the latter. And by God, for the sake of future generations, hope he does!
