I think that a big part of the phenomenon of Elon-hate is that he has taken policy stances that go against the some people's political orthodoxies, which put him on the other side of the political spectrum in their minds, and therefore make him a bad person. Him being against Covid lockdowns and higher taxes for high-earners come to mind. Once you've decided that a public figure is a bad person, it's easy to make every new piece of information you hear about them fit that narrative, and to accept verifiably false claims about them that strengthen that narrative because that allows you to hold a more simple model of the world and not have to deal with an uncomfortable ambiguity that might make your question your own beliefs. It allows you to hold a picture of the world that allows you to feel good about yourself because in it, you're perfectly righteous and correct. Some people also hold as one of their central beliefs that all rich people are necessarily self-interested and exploitative assholes. They build their own identities around that idea. For them, it can be easier to mold all rich people to fit that belief system than it can to adapt that belief system based on the evidence they see.

Truly. This interview is by FAR, the best I've ever seen. Not only were the questions absolutely fantastic! But the *way* the questions were asked was brilliant. Even the editing has been done incredibly well! Well done to everyone involved for producing this masterpiece! 33:20 is a great example of how exceptional of a mind the interviewer has. - For Elon to value his opinion *so much* that he would turn the question back on the interviewer (sorry don't know his name yet), shows the amount of respect that Elon has for the guy. I had to stop half way through the interview to share this with a friend of mine...... He gives hope with his carefully thought out answers. A man of great wealth and acumen who doesn't flaunt it or throw it in your face. You just don't see men in this day and time with the notoriety that he has be so humble. It truly blows me away! And I am genuinely thankful that I saw this interview...... it gives me hope that in the future..... good will triumph over evil. His attempt to buy Twitter has felt good since the news about it first surfaced. I hope he can reverse the negativity that floods our democracy each and every day by the social platforms and news outlets that seem to love conflict and chaos. That's a tall order to be sure...... but now I have hope that it can be accomplished...... thanks to Elon..... for reminding us that humanity is a thing we can all get behind and support.
In a way, it’s humbling to know that humans will be studying Elon thousands of years from now for the way he pushed humanity forward by leaps…we are fortunate to be alive while he is making his huge imprint.
Even hundreds of years from now, people will be fascinated with his accomplishments! To the future researchers from now, Yes, these were telling times! 🖖😏
Bullshit!!! No one is going to study Elon! All what he is saying is not extraordinary, nuclear is already a thing just like wind….. he doesn’t make any of those.
He’s so honest, and you can see that he really thinks about a question and tries to answer the best way possible. He asks Alex: “what do you think I should do?” How amazing is that! And you know that he will think about it
As a German I’m so glad he addresses the madness of shutting down nuclear. We replace it by burning coal and it makes us completely dependent on Russia.
This dude is the one best human I have ever seen. Love love this guy. Every kind and intelligent person can see him for who he is. Humanity is blessed to have him. We just wish him happiness, health and long life.❤️
Don't you think he's just playing the opposite side of the bad guys to the audience because the world works in duality and he's been ordered to do so? meanwhile it is filling over your head with an infinity of satelites that will fill us with electromagnetism and control ... not to mention that it is the promoter of brain chips where in the future you will not even be able to have privacy or think like a free human being. greetings from the future
@Ernie H no seriously what has he done ? he lies about being an engineer. he lies about what his companies are doing. he is lying about what he is doing for the dompanies. also is he lying about everything he "invented" which is nothing. he hasnt done anything to paypal, tesla or spacex, but buying them.
26:59 "I'm not afraid of dying, I think it will come as a relief" - Elon MUSK....the three seconds of silence...those words didn't come from his lips...they came from his soul.
If only everyone sincere enough gains enough footing to succeed in life the world would be a better place. Elon's a technocrat. Not philosopher. He's pro robotics. He's trying to get away from pending collapse.
What strikes me is that Elon is always very truthful to all questions he gets, you can sense that from the moments when he takes his time to answer, he really thinks things through. Honesty is one of his best sides that not many mention.

The question of being lonely is something that touches me directly. Social interactions have a tendency to be rather stressful, but that does not make me someone who likes being alone. Peoples often have the wrong perception of that side of me. Sometime, just being there, having peoples around me without interacting is sufficient. The fact that I am not a very outgoing person does not meant hat I don't enjoy the company of others. There are times where I do have something to say, and the perception that others have of me can make it much harder to do so. Do not assume to much of someone who is quiet. Give them the opportunity to express themselves when they choose to do so. Do not push them, force to interact when they do not want to. Let them do it at their own pace.
Agreed, the only thing I thought would be different is solar and batteries would be a bridge to next generation thorium nuclear technology due to it being able to power the same amount of infrastructure with a comparatively tiny footprint and least environmental disturbance; especially since solar and batteries can be constructed much more quickly than fission and eventually fusion plants. Eventually as the enormous solar farms and battery storage reach their end of life they can be replaced with nuclear and the land can be returned to nature or farming since Earth with be the bread basket of a solar system society. As far as the birthrates SpaceX would be the solution to provide the means for us to expand.

@?ndj And that’s the most important thing and only clever people understand this. It doesn’t matter how smart and capable you are. It matters if you can turn that into money and a product/service in the market.
There was a huge , and completely unnecessary carbon footprint, caused by activists influencing energy policy through anti nuclear protests. And today the unwillingness to look at fossil fuel in an empirical way is also causing a huge carbon footprint.
A UK government report found out a lot of those activists were actually funded by Russia to keep Europe reliant on Russian gas… Notice how they also oppose local fracking in Europe (even in the ocean where it won’t affect anyone), but they never oppose Russian gas imports and call it “transitory”.

@@DanielDavies-StellularNebulla The interviewer is Martin Döpfner - He is not only journalist. He is CEO of Springer group, one of the biggest media groups in Germany. I'm German too, so nativ speaker and I know Doepfner him from his articles. Many times I do not agree with his points of view. Probably because they envolve political questions and a strong left agenda. But, when he jumped out of his articles and did this interview I was simply astounded - Due to the interview conducted by himself and how well he opened the insight to Elon Musk, showing so we'll what guy Elon is and how he is thinking. And there were a few, namely the one about how to allocate money effectively ("I care about the reality.

Eventually as the enormous solar farms and battery storage reach their end of life they can be replaced with nuclear and the land can be returned to nature or farming since Earth with be the bread basket of a solar system society. May your hopes, dreams & desires come true…and may you become 111% happy.
I love this man ,he's trying to help, using his well earned influence ,as best he can,how wonderful ,to aspire to helping humanity
Nuclear Power is the best.
When was this recorded?
Good interview. Elon is a champion for humanity.
I also wonder this. Was it less than month ago or greater?
Months ago , he said elon has +70mil followers on twitter now he has 82mil
@@L0CALDRUGMAN Yes, but I think that was just a mistake, as I seem to remember he's had 80m+ for some time. It think this was recent, when he was in Germany for Giga Berlin's opening.
They talked about the Ukraine War so it cant be That old
The interview probably took place at the opening of the Tesla Gigafactory Berlin when Elon was in Germany.
Some questions require high degree of speculation yet Elon thoughtfully, humorously answers each one. A real mensch
This was a very well prepared and exercised interview - thank you both sincerely!
Not true Elon. You are the one person, that could save the entire Human race.
"It is very difficult to effectively give away money if you care about the money actually doing good and not merely the perception of doing good." When asked about donating toward food supply and starvation.
yes, thats what he was always saying.
especially when people come to him and ask for supply for the starving than he answers with. "i am already donating so much, "It is very difficult to effectively give away money if you care about the money actually doing good and not merely the perception of doing good." "
and than shuts the door on them
@@adswers6900 he has literally donated MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars. at what point do people start asking their government or sending their own money? The US government for example makes way more money than musk
@@niftyp2320 and he took billions from tax payer money.
"The US government for example makes way more money than musk"
musk is one person, the us government makes money with 300+ million people.
you are delusional xD
@@adswers6900 so what percentage if his wealth should he donated xD
@@niftyp2320 bill gates for example donated half his wealth, 50%.
if he is what he claims to be, it should be 99%
If there were just one man that I would trust to run the world and be in charge it would be this man Elon Musk
lol🤣
Brilliant interview. Thank you
He will be remembered as the saviour of the human race in the future, once we become an inter planetary species thanks to his efforts. We forget how we are all the eggs in one basket at this point in time, we have had many extinction events on this planet alone. How the whole planet is not behind this movement to Mars is surprising to me tbh.
Love Elon love his attitude and shame there isn't more people like him.
Once we get interplanetary and self sustaining there is no need for old world powers be that government or oil.
They just happen to control most of the current world. They don't want him to succeed because then he can start a more free civilisation out of reach.
Interviewer: Thank you Elon for that conversation.
Elon: Alright; thank you. [stands up proactively]
I HAVE SAID THE EXACT SAME THING REGARDING SHUTTING DOWN NUCLEAR REACTORS. IT SEEMS AS IF THE USA MILITARY IS ALREADY USING MUSK SERVICES.
Nuclear power should be the main. Power source across the world. We should just be trying to make it safer and safer. But the energy from splitting the arom is so efficient and powerful We would be fools to burn carbon and try to kill ourselves long term
*This interview is pure gold.* ❤
i have been watching Elon Musk interviews for a while and - as a German - I find it very funny how here he - like he does - makes his jokes, but the german guy just looks at him with the most serious face like “yes, very funny. 😶 please continue.”
