@@robertm3561 Uhm. No. You don’t know him. Neither do I. I do know that he got rich selling zip2 to compaq for 300 million dollars similar to Mark Cuban. Zip2 never made a dime and was a flop. Got very very lucky just like Mark. It’s arguable that without that we wouldn’t even know who he is.
He sells a persona because he understands that his persona sells Teslas. He’s very smart. But he is no genius. He contradicts himself constantly.
Advocating for AI, investing in Open AI, basically owning it in the 2010s and then selling it because he wasn’t making money to Microsoft. And then once it takes off, starts talking about how dangerous it is for big tech to have AI. It’s like bro your the cause of them having it. You could’ve open sourced it at any point and you didn’t. And then you sold it to them.
Said he would open source Twitter. Never did.
Says he worked and works 24/7 and talks about how much he works. Finds himself at every gala with Amber Heard and friends having 11 babies and playing loads of video games. People can tweet anything.
If I had billions I could paint a genius picture. Especially if it’s in my economic best interest to do so.
You have to take things with a grain of salt. Critically think. These people on the internet, you will never really know. You see what they want you to see.
Do I think Elon is smart. Yes. Is he a genius absolutely not. A genius definitely would not have closed source open AI and then sell it to Microsoft.
What’s unique about him is he’s a smart billionaire who doesn’t let the money satisfy him too much so he does some stuff like buy Twitter and tries to FUND going to Mars.
To be clear I like that Elon is out there. Especially compared to other billionaires like Zuckerberg. I just get tired of the hero worship and claims from people who have no idea who he is.
He’s like Taylor Swift but for tech. A pretty good musician but by no means the best, but being the richest and most famous one exalts you into a cult fandom place of musical genius and that gives you opportunities no one else has which cult fans then perceive as genius. Same with Elon but with tech.

Elon's words and the manner in which he expresses them, combined with the years I've spent on this planet, lead me to believe that, regardless of one's actions or possessions, if a storm brews in the mind, it becomes a lifelong challenge. The most effective way to perceive life positively, embracing its challenges and inner reflections, is to cultivate gratitude for what we possess. It involves slowing life down to a pace where it can be truly savored, not merely tasted. This, I believe, is the ultimate remedy for the problems we currently encounter and those that may arise in the future

True loneliness is an unbearable torture that I wouldn't wish on anyone because it doesn't matter what you do, you won't give a shit about accomplishing your epic goals if you don't have anyone to share it with. I'm pretty unselfish I think objectively, but it feels pretty selfish perceiving the best way to live my life is by avoiding friends and family who make an effort to be personable but me not so much, because when I do it feels pretty insincere. Ultimately all I'm left with is living my life for myself unconnected to social reality, which I feel is pretty self centered and fact that ignoring people makes me feel some how fulfilled, makes it almost seem inhuman on some level...

Ultimately the reality is that I don't care enough emotionally on some level and that dearth of emotional obligation is surely big part of why being alone is so blissful. I love that Elon is so connected to his kids. The time and energy you give to them is so precious. Knowing they're loved helps them to grow and learn. Sharing their wonder as they discover and make sense of new things is beautiful. I realised this when trying to walk my reluctant son to school. His fascination with dew covered cobwebs, and the lives of spiders on a misty morning, made us late. The answer was to home educate so we could investigate the world around us, which was far more ineresting and exciting than school for many reasons.

And sometimes, he has to hold back so much because he knows that he will be looked at in strange ways or people will just not even be able to comprehend what he is talking about.
