- Fantastic Train Variety at Carlisle!
Class 37s, 43s, 56s, 66s.
16 August 23
Filmed during the day and again in the evening at Citadel station
The pair of DRS 37s were a surprise on the Carlisle - Crewe Basford Hall Engineer's train.
The 56s are still working the logs.
At the end of the day the Blue Pullman passed en route from Oban to Preston.

Yes, that was indeed quite a variety. It is always cool to see the 43s still running, in any livery.
Yes indeed, but that Nanking Blue really sets them apart
Thanks Les - a very enjoyable channel!
Many thanks! Glad you enjoy it!
Beautiful video, greetings 🚂👍👋
Thanks!
Hi Leslie great video mate loved the class37 and the class90s locos mate
Cheers Clive
Some really good footage here Les, especially the close up of the 'Grids'....nice one..
Many thanks
The dirty old 56 sure has some presence , just sitting there watching what’s going on , proper old loco 👍
They certainly do!
Great video indeed like your video of the Pullman unit
Thanks. It was worth staying late for
30 minutes of glory, thanks Leslie.
Thanks Andy
Awsome Les. The elevated shots of the Tesco train were really good, loved the log & mail trains too. Ben.
Many thanks!
Another lovely mix Les, those 37's sounded superb!
Thanks
Bom dia lindo trem afoto lelie
Thanks!
When I saw that light loco movement 0K26 66179 (14:30) pull into the middle road, my first thought was 'how often would it be looped on its way South. I had a look on RTT and blow me! it ran 3 hours early on the 5-hour schedule. If there was a crew change, it was on the move. It only stopped for 30 secs in Preston. You did have a long day behind the camera.
Its surprising sometime. As for the day there were a couple of breaks!
Nice video leslie very good camera work as usual as always I am really enjoying your lovely videos and camera work keep your lovely camera work up I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on TH-cam best wishes Philip xx
Thanks!
Weeds on the Upperby line as bad as ever. Good selection as always Les .
Thanks
Another great and informative video. I have started to notice the huge variety of different shirts that you wear during your introductions but to date nothing with a rail theme. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! My choice of shirts is for style rather than theme!
Fantastic seeing the Pullman. I caught it earlier in the day as it passed Maryhill in Glasgow.
Also this morning 'Caroline' passed by on route from Queen street to Oban. 👍
Sounds good!
@@LeslieGilpinRailwaysCarloline was at Carlisle yesterday! Its back tommorow into the siding then leaves Friday morning
@@LeslieGilpinRailwaysdid you see the mail train being dragged by a 66 yesterday?
@@WCMLtrainspotter no but heard about it.
Les……. Great video as always….. Thank you…… Does the log train run every day to Chirk?…….
Thanks! Most weekdays, although it's on the timetable for Mon - Sat. There are other traffic flows to Chirk from elsewhere but I don't know if they are as frequent.
For an Aussie watching are the Loco's @ 10:55 Deltics.?
No, not Deltics. Class 37. Some Class 37s are still in service. Deltics are preserved and have a much larger impressive appearance and very distinctive engine noise. Thanks for watching
