- The QUIETEST Random Station I've visited so far! (08/06/24). Using a random word generator, I selected a railway station in the UK beginning with a random letter... to travel to by train!

Just the place for one pf your educationally random walks, looks very enjoyable. Riding via Nottingham brought back some memories, and I literally watched the Tram service develop and build into what exists today.

Nice film - I have a friend in Lincoln who's a bird-watcher and I'll tell her that Hoveringham Lake is now on a trainspotters film! The Nottsbirders website promotes Thurgarton station as convenient access, so I may go there one day with my friend so she can watch birds while I watch trains.

Great vlog G. Another station I have never heard of and had to google where it was lol. The Nature reserve looks nice!
One thing I like about these random stations is that it's completely random what you are going to find there. But that nature reserve and the flowing water looked beautiful

I was at Manchester Piccadilly this morning with my mother G, I arrived around 10.47 at platform 12 on the train from Whaley Bridge. I then got a 331 to Preston then changed at both Preston and Carlisle to get to Edinburgh. Both the avantis were comfortable though, even though we didn't get into Haymarket until nearly 16.30.
I like the randomness !

I like what East Midlands Railway are doing to their trains and to refurbish them to make them lot more better. I like EMR.

I've been through that station many times. I went to university in Lincoln and took that line home every few months. I never got off at any of the intermediate stops though!

I remember discussing this on a different video but crosscountry has got some of avantis super voyagers now they have a unique hybrid of the two leverys on them
Also something fun, if you ever visit Brighton toy museum whats next to the train station I now have a plaque in there saying this train is brought to you by Chris Pinnegar well something like that 😄

I do like those single side-facing seats on a 170 - on the ScotRail ones I use I often seek those out as there are usually a few of them empty. The green upholstery on the EMR ones you went on is eye-catching, to say the least! Did you say Thurgarton Station opened in 1946? That station building looks a lot older.

Fun fact: Thurgaton is the 96th Least Used Station in all of Great Britain with only 1,584 entries/exits recorded in the 2022/23 period.

I may of travelled on one of those EMR trains when it was used by London Midland back in 2010 and in later years West Midlands Trains.

Lovely station in the east
Was hoping for Thornton Abbey when you were at Nottingham. You would had around 35 mins or 2hrs 35 mins there usually, enough time to visit the abbey gatehouse and adjacent picnic site 😊

@@GLovesTrains A good chance to go on the Penzance sleeper, which is becoming a classic I think. As long as you don't do a toilet review. I never do them on my channel, and when I see others lurching into the toilet I think "oh no, here we go again!".
I do like the purple trains, even if the interior doesn't match.
