Good afternoon! These style of thermostats do not have any batteries. They are usually powered straight from the furnace!

I moved two years ago with no instructions on how to use the Trane thermostat here! I am only able to turn it at the thermostat and no programming and things such as z wave?? What is it supposed to be? All I know about this thermostat is it says trane at the top and it’s not in color. It says filter change all the time and I can’t change it after filter is changed.
I am looking to upgrade my present thermostat to an American Standard Gold XV 824 Nexia Control Thermostat.
I don't have a heat pump so will this thermostat work?
I have a 3 ton Bryant 16 SEER central air conditioner with a natural gas furnace in my attic. I also have a variable speed DC motor that works with both the air conditioning and heating.

OK Joe, I have a Comfortlink 950 XL. I forgot my pin. What is the default pin to open the controller so I can reset my pin. Called Trane service. They said call my local Trane dealer. Called 3 and none of them called back. Can you help.

What I’m learning is these thermostats are known to be faulty
've been trying to get my thermostat upgraded for over 5 years now. When I call trane customer service, they tell me to contact a local dealer. Well, to date I have called 13. They either say they do not know what I'm talking about, or they want to send out a serviceman to look at the unit. (Why?) When I bought the system it could be updated via the internet, but not anymore. My zoning system has been a great disappointment. When I turn off a zone, I have learned that they are programed to allow 40% bypass air to the zone that is turned off. So, I cannot turn off a zone. I will never buy a Trane system again. Too expensive, poor performance.
