Do you happen to have a step-by-step video or even paperwork which shows step-by-step on how to set up the Trane XR203 thermostat for use on my Trane furnace and Trane AC? I have my manual from Trane but having trouble in understanding as I tend to be a visual learner. Thks

I noticed there are a few different models/revisions of the XL850 - the one ending in part number -UA appears to be an older version, while the part number ending in -UB is an updated model. But what is the significance of model ending with -UBA? I see one of these -UBA models with a Honeywell EnviraCom 2.0 sticker on the back. What would that be useful for? Is the -UBA the very latest version of the XL850?

I just had the XV18 TruComfort installed a week ago (Southwest US). The 1/2° of the thermostat setting guarantee isn't what I've been experiencing, rather I've had temperature swings of up to 3 to 4 degrees in cooling mode. Is this normal?

      No it is not

I see this video and comment are quite old but I’m going to chime in anyway. I’ve got an XL 1050 thermostat that came with the home. The temp creeps ups 3-4 degrees above the set point late in the afternoon. This is quite ridiculous

Here is what I learned 3 months ago. Go into the settings (somewhere, I'll post later after I do it again and take notes) and clear out all error codes. I did this to my 18 SEER variable unit and suddenly, unexpectedly, it started acting like a 100% variable compressor - it amazingly stopped spiking to 100 percent compressor capacity. Now it finds a happy medium, typically running at about 50% capacity or less all day long. Temperatures reach 117 degrees here. Thanks for your input. Software needs revised, no doubt.

Hello. Which of these thermostats would you recommend for a Trane XL16c packaged unit?

By the way, is it possible to somehow disable the stupid screen saver that only gives an option of making the temperature bounce around, or making the screen entirely black? I would like to be able to see the blue home screen at all times. The screen saver reminds me of a Windows 95 screen saver from the 1990s and it is very annoying to see the temp bounce all over the place. I don't want to see a black screen either. Because of this I regret getting a Trane - the Lennox S30 thermostat that I have on the other side of the house is much nicer as it shows the temp normally without bouncing.

Update to my own question -- I switched to the XL1050 model and that one has the ability to disable the screensaver so the blue Home screen is visible at all times. The XL1050 also is more accurate with its internal temp sensor. The XL1050 is a much better model. Avoid the XL850!

I have a xr203 thermostat and It is set on 78 and they room temperature is 78 and it doesn't change. The air with the 5 minute delay on condenser and run time is only 10 to 12 minutes off for 7 minutes and back on. Is this normal? I have had the thermostat for 11 months.

Very possibly it is normal. Sounds like unit is doing exactly what it is supposed to. But without knowing many more details about your system, I cannot say for sure

I would recommend having your local contractor come out. You may need a whole house dehumidifier like an Aprilaire E100. th-cam.com/video/MbR0-5Iz2kM/w-d-xo.html

With so many modern designs for home thermostats, I wonder why these ones look like from 1995 :/
