Veteran's and novices alike are MORE than welcome! Let me know if there's anything specific you'd like me to dive into @Steve Clarke, even if it feels super esoteric; I'll tackle it if if I can!
Can you do a review of the amount of noise that different hubs make?! I like quiet wheels when out enjoying the countryside but it seems to be the noisier the better these days!
100% on the list...but be warned; it might not quite be what you expect ;-)! My top quiet hubs (btw) are DT Ratchets systems, Bitex (a quiet purr when lubricated correctly) and - obviously - Onyx Racing Products. But of course; no hub makes a noise if we're pedalling!
Thanks! It's good to be here, and especially nice to hear from an existing customer! Pete is the one to thank for running www.SpokesFromRyan.com so efficiently so I'll be sure to pass the positive feedback on! Custom cut spokes video dropping some point in the future!
@@RyanBuildsWheels Same here, I order from you the odd sizes that I don't stock. I'm intrigued with the tools especially, I bought a Cyclo roller but immediately wished I'd invested in a better one.
Looking forward to this. Have been tempted to try my hand at wheelbuilding for yonks, as it has always seemed like a "black art" to me. Sadly, the skills seemed to have been lost from the bike shops of West Cornwall (tried and failed to get a wheel fixed in 2 different shops during lockdown) and I ended up having to junk the wheels and buy some factory built replacements, just to keep riding 😩 I guess I'll just have to learn to do it myself 👍
Hey Trevor! You 100% Should! I'm on a mission to get people to understand that - far from a black art - wheelbuilding can be a very rewarding and accessible craft to learn: right now all that's required is a degree of patience, mechanical aptitude and ability to self teach. With this channel I want to make learning step by step easier (and more detailed for those that want it) for as many people as possible. Worth noting that I'll actually be bringing back my 'wheelbuilding weekenders' shortly which allow four students to come and learn the craft over two days once a month; keep an eye out here or on the RBW website for details; I'd love to have you along, you're only down the road ;-)!
@@RyanBuildsWheels Ace. I'm actually up in Bristol next week for the GoGo Penguin gig at the Marble Factory. Had my frame fixed and painted at Argos Cycles this summer too.
This looks really interesting, even to a wheelbuilding veteran like myself. Subscribed. Best of luck with the channel 👍

Welcome to TH-cam Ryan. We buy spokes from you. Why bother getting our own cutter when you deliver so fast.
