- Installing a Perrin crank pulley onto a 2002 Subaru WRX
We are three guys with a passion for cars and anything performance related. The vehicles we mainly show are a 2013 Subaru WRX, 2013 Volkswagen Gti, 2015 Subaru WRX, 2002 Subaru WRX with a 6 speed swap, 1993 Civic EG Hatch with a Turbo GSR, and possibly some random stuff we work on.

There is a downside to having a lightweight pulley compared to an oem. If you notice the OEM pulley is actually three pieces it has an inner steel piece it has a outer steel piece and a rubber center this is for the harmonic balancing of the crankshaft the lightweight pulley will not help with that and could cause premature wear and tear do your engine

To put it back on do we do the same process as in holding it to 5th gear and brake?
Sorry for the late reply. Yes. Put it back in 5th and have someone hold the brakes. Could even set the e brake too

Venâncio Igayara no special tools required. Socket set and a torque wrench. Add in a friend to help and your choice of adult beverage and you're set
Put the car in 5th gear, have someone press the brake hard. Have someone loosen the bolt with all their strength. I'd reccomend at least a 24 inch breaker bar for removal
To put it back on do I have too put it on 5th gear and the brakes hard?
