    Japan is magnificent ! It's great to have such a view while being on a train. I don't particularly like trains, but I loved this trip! I could spend my afternoon on this train! My favorite moment is when the train went through a tunnel. At the exit we have a dazzling view! I love that !

    What I've noticed on this train ride is 1. it's cherry blossom season! so beautiful! and 2. There are a lot of train photographers lol You can spot them sometimes on the sides of the railroad and you can even see one at 1:24:17 taking a picture of the train with his large phone / tablet / foldable phone.

      Pretty sure they are the so called "train otakus" first time i heard of them was like a year ago when a guy riding a bike accidentally ruined one of their photos and the case became somewhat popular
      Like, i knew there was a group of people looking out for trains all over Japan, but i was really surprised to find about 10 of them in just one video

    Just another great footage in this very scenic route, featuring chery blossoms all along the way, as well as the Nagara river being seen all the time. I really loved the small villages , how adorable is the RDC trip around Gifu prefecture in Japan. Thanks for recording and sharing this for us, with greetings from Brazil.

    Coming from the US, what is amazing and so peaceful is there are no ads or billboards, as in zero. Is this Japanese zoning? I know other places in Japan have tons of ads, but maybe only cities.

      Because social responsibility, personal discipline, work ethics, and pride in self, family, community, and nation, are taught as cultural heritage, rather than philosophical notions subject to subjective evaluation. My take, anyway.

      @@proparanoid And this is also why people there literally work themselves to death and nobody has time to date much less raise a family so the population is falling, and homeless people are shamed and treated like animals and expected to disappear. There's a dark side to everything and something is going to break in Japan eventually. The younger citizens are less and less willing to live the lifestyle society is imposing on them, often to the point of withdrawing completely from work and social life. Hikikomoris, etc. Let's not gloss over the major issues Japan has and how absolutely heartless their society can be.
      I think probably why nordic countries, particularly finland, are always at the top of happiest countries lists is they combine collectivist and individualist principles and so are halfway between a country like Japan and the US. Finland is a country where extremes have been done away with, like buddha they've found a middle way.
      There's a sense of community and a good work ethic. You work hard, pay your debt to society faithfully and without complaint (income tax is fairly high), but also expect society to take care of you and give you benefits if you lose your job, a place to live if you become homeless so you don't rot in the streets (Finland's amazing "Housing First" initiative have made them the only country in Europe where homelessness is falling rather than rising), have laws in place to prevent worker exploitation, and foster a collective norm backed up by federal law of generous vacation time because it benefits everyone's mental health and quality of life. Finland has this whole being a society thing figured out top to bottom. I mean for fuck's sake I had to work at my current job five years in order to be allowed to build up two weeks vacation time here in the US rather than just 10 days, and there's no federal law saying an employer has to give ANY vacation time at all! Finns get 30 as a matter of course. You know how much fucking happier and more productive at work I would be if I got four weeks off a year, plus holidays? I might even stop fantasizing about putting the barrel of a gun in my mouth, wouldn't that be something? If I was born in Japan I'd probably be dead already, because what's the fucking point if all you do is work 50-70 hours a week forever with no break? Fuck that, let me off this ride early, please and thank you.

      @proparanoid 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ForeverMasterless I spend 80% of my retirement time dealing with the dark side of things of which you speak of in general terms, but in specifics: stalking victims, to include persons targeted by Men in Black (Organized Agency Stalking), and often, rendered homeless or a social, financial, and political zero equivalent. Ironically, the hapless homeless are often recruited by such Agencies as unwitting participants. And, I note, the issue exists in almost every modern country, including Japan, and the Nordic nations. I've worked with 12,000 from more than two dozen countries -- over several decades as privacy/security consultant/author, and it has little to do with the form of government or the individuals work ethics or original affluence or education. Millionaires, Professors, Political figures, and military are not exempt, and can be so reduced to that unhappy state by such methods. For more, if wishing, pls visit freewillsociety wordpress com.

    Urban Japan, before I started watch your video's I had know idea that Japan had so much open space. Too bad every one wants to live in big nasty smelly crowded cites. Which, I would not mind visiting. But I could never live in a place like Tokyo. If you have ever seen the anime No-Rin, the video at 1:15:40 reminds me very much of a scene from the second to the last episode. And you do wonderful video's by the way.

    I watch 4K cabviews and other travelogues while listening to religious radio programming. I need something for my eyes to do, since I can't see the people talking, and there is nothing more relaxing than good scenery and the gentle change of it, to go with God's Word. And, it emphasizes the presence of His hand in the World, as well as that all Mankind are of the same Human Race, and not simply the false notion of foreigners with strange ideas for which we might ought raise an eyebrow in concern. Here, for instance, I noticed the many Shinto family shrines or what we might think of as crypts. Different, but no different. Thank you for this one. Bless.
